Re: I’ve been banned… in Chit-Chat

I’ve been banned from a local band’s forum because I took the piss out of the kid who was admin, but the band are mates of mine and had me reinstated. I think they took his admin status away after that too. I don’t usually wish to join any forums that would have me as a member.

Re: Guitar in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

I’ve got an Ibanez at the moment, but I use it for experimental effects or Deftones kind of stuff, when it comes to bashing punk stuff I use a Les Paul.

Re: F8 in General Therapy? Topics

I couldn’t get it to work, so I used this link

http://www.thisismenace.com/media/F8.html

I’m loving Andy’s vocals on it, not too keen on the others, they all seem a bit post-hardcore apart from Casey Chaos.

Re: Your Amps - Your Sound in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

I bought a Line 6 Spider II half stack last year, it does pretty much everything I want. I can get good punk, metal and grungey tones on it and clean or warm tones when I need them. I’m still paying for it and the Ibanez I got at the same time with a bank loan, but it’s worth it. Getting a Les Paul next, my mate’s sounds great through my amp.

Re: Your Worst bands in Other Bands & Artists

McFly, Busted, Rooster, etc (all that bollocks goes without saying, I know).
Sum 41, Good Charlotte, Alterbridge, Murderdolls (tried to like them, just can’t, they’re shit), The Calling, Creed, Saliva, Disturbed, Nickelback, Foo Fighters (Might have been good once, but now they’re shit), Razorlight, Marilyn Manson, Bon Jovi, Cradle Of Filth, Megadeath, Lostprophets, Avril Lavigne, The Stills, The Caves, The Kills, The Killers, Graveltrap, Reel Big Fish, Iodine, Zen Baseball Bat, [spunge], Ash, 3 Doors Down, Kid Rock, Linkin Park, Incubus, RHCP, The Strokes, The Beatles, Seether, Blink 182, New Found Glory, Catatonia, Stereophonics… there’s more, just can’t think.

Re: Rock you monkeys tab in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

If you can play Teenage Kicks, you can work it out easily enough.

Great song, my band are going to cover it once we get our arses into gear.

Re: All of them Good in General Therapy? Topics

Wish I could help, it really does rock… I don’t mean to rub it in. 4 years on and I still listen to it a lot.

Re: That Troublegum-moment early in the morning in General Therapy? Topics

My Voodoo Doll has helped in the mornings before going to work (When I used to have a job :P ) and when it came out, Shameless was what I used to wake up, at high volume, until neightbours complained. They listened to Robbie Williams.

Re: Therapy? - T-Shirt thieves!!!! in General Therapy? Topics

I gave my Ramones shirt away about a year ago when it suddenly became fashionable to wear them by people who hadn’t actually heard any Ramones songs.
A lot of punk bands have jokingly copied that logo, but I think Therapy? have done it best. I saw in some t-shirt catalogue that Good Charlotte have done it to, but theirs looks shit… maybe I’m prejudiced agasinst them, but who isn’t?
Did anyone hear that story about Martin Freeman (Tim from The Office) when he was being interviewed by some guy in a Ramones t-shirt? He asked the guy interviewing him if he owned any Ramones albums, he didn’t, and then he asked him to name two Ramones songs and he couldn’t.

Re: Irish Fans in General Therapy? Topics

I’m from South Wales and I talk to a few people from Belfast on MSN, they’re all about 18-25 and listen to rock/punk/metal but none of them had heard of Therapy? which really surprised me.

Re: T?attoos in General Therapy? Topics

It’s not what I’d personally choose to have, but it’s very original and I do like it.

Did you design it yourself? I’m of the mind that if you get a tattoo it should be one you design yourself or something that means a lot to you.

some of the b-sides aren’t brilliant but what do you expect!

I’d say Therapy? are one of the few bands to really make an effort when it comes to B-sides and not just use some filler or crap that didn’t make it to the album.

Suing God, Mama You Can Call The Ambulance Now, Gimme Danger and Our Love Must Die are just a few examples of great songs they’ve done. I love their Gimme Danger just as much as The Stooges version and I’m a huge Stooges fan.

Re: Dahmer in Chit-Chat

Has anyone seen the film ” To Catch a Killer”?

That’s a great film. Usually I hate Brian Dennehy but he played Gacy brilliantly. They’ve made another film about Gacy called, originally enough… ‘Gacy’. Basically the reviews said to avoid it and watch ‘To Catch To Killer’ instead. ‘Gacy’ was basically made to cash-in on the straight to video successes of Dahmer and Bundy.
If you liked any of those, check out ‘Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer’, then look up stuff about Henry Lee Lucas on the internet. Total nutcase who reckons he was involved in just about every high profile murder in America and even the Jonestown Massacre (He says he supplied the poison).
As for Margot Kidder (Lois from Superman), is she still nuts?

Re: TJ’s, Newport (Dec 3rd, 2003) in Therapy? Live

I was waiting outside TJs and I saw Andy, Neil and Michael on the other side of the road. I crossed over and talked to Andy. He was really cool, I told him I loved Infernal Love and he said he liked my Iggy Pop t-shirt. He laughed when he asked me how things were going and I said things were great because I was “Walking down the road, talking to Andy Fucking Cairns!”
During the gig I was going pretty mental in the front few rows and Michael stopped playing for a moment just to shake my hand!
Brilliant gig (the support bands rocked too) and I hope they come back soon.

Re: Come on, Therapy? should just do the decent thing in General Therapy? Topics

Title: T? Albums.

Children, stop your bickering.

Everyone has got a favourite T? album, mine, unlike most, is Infernal Love. I love the melodic stuff, like A Moment of Clarity.

The problem with myself and other T? fans I know is that on the first listen, a new Therapy? album never sounds as good as the others, but persevere and pretty soon you’ll get well into it.

I never really liked Semi-Detatched, I thought it was the black sheep of the collection, but in the last few weeks I’ve probably listened to that more than any other album. I love Safe, Black eye… and Don’t Expect Roses.
I felt a little disappointed by Shameless at first, but now I love it. Tango Romeo is top.

So, Mr Cairns, don’t think about putting your Gibson away, keep churning out your very own distinctive brand of heavenly tunes for our enjoyment.

And if you need a guitarist, my E Mail is at your disposal.

Re: Guitar/Bass for T? songs in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

Title: Cheerz guys!

Thanks a lot guys, I was afraid no one would answer my question and leave me looking like a “message board billy-no-mates”.

Incidentally, that’s what Andy called Michael (Billy No Mates), in an interview with Lisa L’Anson in Berlin when Michael said he was going to go to the Prodigy gig on his own. It must have been around 1995, ‘cos Fyfe was with them. I now look a bit of an anorak, don’t I?

Cheers for the tips, I’ll try them out.

Guitar/Bass for T? songs in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

Title: Guitar/Bass for T? songs

Anyone know:

A) The Chords/Tabs for Gimme Danger?

B) The bass for Diane? (I know it’s probably really easy, like the guitar, but I just want to be sure)

C) Tab/Chords for Tango Romeo?
