Re: Who should do new T? remixes. in General Therapy? Topics
i like remixes, but i do love electronica/industrial stuff too.
C-Tec
Einsturzende Neubaten
Kid606
Atari Teenage Riot
or
Madcapsualmarkets
would create some very different mixes from each other. for me a good remix rebuilds the song whilst keeping the essence of it together and where possible gives you the ability to dance like a motherfucker, all night if required…

Insurrection in Other Bands & Artists
Title: Insurrection
anyone remember this thrashy lot from back in the day? i ended up working with the singer and know the drummer and bassist from my local music scene. apparetly they got fan mail off T? back in their prime, before various members got arrested/incarserated addicted or a ‘real’ job..

Sounds like you are in the same profession as me sort of. I did some of the M3 live albums (whitesnake without coverdale) individual mics on instruments with some atmos mics mixed in help it alot and there is no real point cleaning up the tracks to much unless it sounds to messy. Anthrax’s new live album sounds great and does sound live a good mixture:)
i’m a cameraman/editor really, but that does mean knowing you marbles in sound too. i used to do rock n roll PA on weekends before i went to uni. did quite a bit of sound work with a previous employer, mostly orchestras and chiors, but the principal remains the same. Flown AKG C422 as the main mic.
i agree though an overly clean sound kills a live recording. Muddy Banks of the Wishkah is a good exmple of a really good live sound, as was the recent Hell Is For Heores DVD.
what is your job exactly?

i agree with you it’s very polished and has had the life and live element of it it sucked out of it!
and the raw sounding albums are the best!
gotta agree there. it sounded really flat, but thats sound desk recrdings for you. i’ve done a bit of live sound recording/mixing and i really think the feel to get is like you were there. for me a flown stereo mic with seperate mics on instruments for reinforcing bits produces the best results.
a good example would be Blink182 - The Enema Strikes Back, ace live sound. abnd avoid the new prodigy dvd if you’re after the live stuff, it’s aweful, the music sounds like the CDs and the vocals are aweful…

Re: Weirdest place you’ve found something Therapy? in General Therapy? Topics
i was in london about 5 years ago for a college trip to new york. we stopped off in london for a day and stayed in a youth hostel called ‘The Generator’ in one of the stairwells there was a poster for Pleasure Death, it must’ve been almost 2 meters high and propperly wallpaper pasted on. i’d only been into therapy for a few months when i saw it, it was the beginning of many great things.
