Re: Exclusive Therapy? Webgig in General Therapy? Topics

For the regulars on this board it wouldn’t make much sense to vote for songs like Nowhere. On the other hand, if you haven’t been to a T? gig before, I can imagine why you would vote for the most popular songs. If I had to pick a song for Metallica to play, it would be ‘One’, even if they play it regularly. So yeah, I can understand it.

I’m happy some of the songs made it though (Straight Life! Evil Elvis!! Manson!!!).

Re: Songs T? should play live… in General Therapy? Topics

You’ll also find it on the Dead Laughing bootleg. The version on this one is the same as on the Fanclub 1996 cd, but Dead Laughing is way easier to get.

Re: New(er) Therapy? fans… in General Therapy? Topics

I got into T? back in ‘99, when I picked up Troublegum and Infernal Love. But I got really hooked when I listened to Semi-Detached, ‘twas love at first listen!

Re: Metal Hammer November 2004 in General Therapy? Topics

In the ‘Nieuwe Revu’ (Dutch magazine, not really a rock/music magazine, but still) it got 5 out of 5 stars and was called ‘record of the year’!

Re: New Single in General Therapy? Topics

I think HA was released somewhere at the end of April last year. I’m not 100% sure, but my memory’s pretty good usually!

Re: other bands covering T? in General Therapy? Topics

Mambo Kurt has done a very special version of Nowhere.

The Sweeney deserves a better recording.

Re: how long have you known about T? in General Therapy? Topics

About 10 years, took me 5 years though to rediscover them.

Re: Wouldn’t it be cool if for the new album Therapy? would… in General Therapy? Topics

Their albums don’t have the same names of any songs or singles in a literal way, but Infernal Love is derived from Epilepsy (…’This infernal love… it burns like wire’), and of course Suicide Pact-You First, which can be found back in Little Tongues First. The latter song is even referred to as SP-YF by Andy during live gigs more often than it is called Little Tongues First.

And now that I know that a longer version of I am the money exists…I WANT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! how can I do????
I’m cryin’…

It’s on the single(s) of I Am The Money. There are four different versions of the single, only two have the full length version of IATM. They released two UK-singles, and two ‘Europe-singles’. UK #1 (no. ARKCDS2A07) has the version, and the Europe single (no. 015 305-2)has it. Not sure if I got the catalogue numbers right though.

Tracklist of UK #1 is:

1. I am the money (album version)
2. Gimme therapy
3. Gimme gimme shock treatment
4. I am the money (full length version)

Tracklist of Europe single:

1. I am the money (album version)
2. Tango Romeo (original demo)
3. I am the money (full length version)

I’m sure you can find it on Ebay or gemm.com. If you want, I can try and send it to you via email, just let me know.

Re: If it kills me x 20! in General Therapy? Topics

Yeah, I like to whistle as loud as possible as well, especially when they get off stage and we have to wait for the encore!

Re: If it kills me x 20! in General Therapy? Topics

Hmm, concerning screaming at gigs, I never get passed ‘woooooooooh!!!’ (really loud) :D

Cheers for that post man, it shows once again that you’re a top bloke. I will definately keep an eye out for you in ‘Rock Land’, I’m sure I won’t be the only one. Thanks for all the years of devotion and for the great music, I wish you all the best in your future projects. Cheers dude!

Re: T? Live Album…!!!! in General Therapy? Topics

Why on earth would they release a live cd? There’s hundreds of live shows out there, many of them are of superb quality, so an official live cd wouldn’t have any added value whatsoever. That’s my humble opinion anyway.

See you in cork motherfuckers

Don’t cross the line now! Some of the folks on these boards, like our Belgian friend Robby, have been die-hard fans of T? for ages, going to every concert when humanly possible. They all love T? (so do I!), and I can fully understand they were puzzled and wanted some explanation. So maybe it’s you who should lay off, cos I don’t think your accusations are fair either…

My email to you bounced Sarah, do you have any other email addresses that accept attachments over 1MB in size? It’s about 1,2 or 1,3 MB I guess.

Re: Andy on Total Rock in General Therapy? Topics

Total Recorder is all you need. Just look around on Kazaa, and possibly try and find some keygen program (probably illegal, but sometimes you gotta break the law, right?)

Re: Martin leaves Therapy? a 3 piece in General Therapy? Topics

Well then, the problem seems to be solved. Although it’s still sad to know Martin is no longer a part of T? anymore, the reason for his leave seems plausible to me.
Cheers Michael for clearing things up, I can’t wait to hear some of the new songs!!

Re: DonĀ“t forget Keith Baxter and G.Hopkins… in General Therapy? Topics

Comparing Keith Baxter’s ‘leave’ to Martin’s leave is foolish, complete bullocks! Come on man, you can’t be serious about this…

Re: Martin leaves Therapy? a 3 piece in General Therapy? Topics

I guess the reactions differ depending on when you got into T? I got into T? back in ‘99, when Martin was one of the band for quite a while already. So to me, Martin has always been a bandmember as much as Andy or Michael are members of T? Therefore, I am kinda shocked, and sad that he is no longer a bandmember. I can imagine that those who got into T? in the Fyfe-era, without Martin, are somewhat less shocked or angry, cos they never saw Martin on a par with Andy and Michael.
I do think that the ‘monetary thing’ should never have been mentioned, cos it’s the complete opposite of what T? stands for!

Re: ‘Early’ versions vs ‘final’ versions in General Therapy? Topics

But Me vs You is not a bad song by any means, it’s quite good actually!
Anyone remembers the version of It It Kills Me that was played at the summer festivals in 2002? There’s a version from Marktrock in Leuven, which was even better than the version on HA. I just think there’s even more power and energy behind in that version. On the other hand, the final version of Hey Satan You Rock is way better and more powerful than the version they played at the summer festivals in 2002.

Re: Martin leaves Therapy? a 3 piece in General Therapy? Topics

This must be hard for Martin, cos he was eager to play again, as he said in his post(s) of the last couple of weeks. I don’t think that he expected this to happen.
Something else that bothers me: the post-Infernal Love songs were all written for a fourpiece, weren’t they? I wonder how these songs are going to sound without a second guitar player. Certainly some songs will never sound the same again!
Let’s just wait for some ‘official’ statement on this matter. I can’t imagine it’s a quarrel about money, that just doesn’t seem to fit with the image I have of Therapy?

Re: Martin leaves Therapy? a 3 piece in General Therapy? Topics

This is fucked up! I am going to miss him, as he is a great musician and one helluva bloke.

Martin, good luck with everything you’re going to do in the future, and thanks for the great years during which you were an indispensable member of the band!

‘Early’ versions vs ‘final’ versions in General Therapy? Topics

Title: ‘Early’ versions vs ‘final’ versions

So, I was wondering what your opinions are regarding the fact that some early versions or demos sound better than the eventual ‘final’ result. I am listening to Kiss Me On The Ghost Train right now, and can’t help thinking that this version is better the Last Blast which it became in the end. Same applies to The Sweeney, I love that song!! Then there’s the early version of Me vs You, and the early version of This One’s For You. Anyway, those are just a few examples, and mind you, those are all personal opinions! Anyone agrees with me?

Re: jackass in General Therapy? Topics

Just listened to Dammit by Blink 182, and I realise now how the guitar riff resembles that of Screamager. Anyone else sees my point? And no, I’m not ashamed to admit that I listen to Blink every now and then :D

Re: Punishment Kiss Ringtone? in General Therapy? Topics

It might be the song ‘Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja’ by Lost Prophets, the guitar riff in that song sounds very similar to the riff in Punishment Kiss.
