Re: When (not) to use the quote button in Site Announcements

Nice one Roxana! *Breaking the law, breaking the law!*

I also can’t help feeling the ‘chains o’ rules’ get fastened tighter and tighter around our necks! It’s great if you want these boards to be well-organised, but then again, getting off-topic and reacting to each other’s posts (by quoting) really add to the fun of these boards, please don’t ruin it by posing too many rules, it really gets on my nerves every now and then.

Other than that, this site is great btw!

Re: Changes on the WoM in Site Announcements

Yeah, I agree, make it open in a new pop-up window, not in the same window.

I SALUTE YOU!

Re: Please welcome our first Community Leader! in Site Announcements

How ironic… Going off-topic in a topic about not going off-topic. You just gotta love the people on this board!

Re: Please welcome our first Community Leader! in Site Announcements

Community Leader eh? Wow, what a promotion! Sounds like we’ve formed a new religion here, come on, jooooooooooin us!
Also took a look at the guidelines, I will abide by the rules, SIR YES SIR!!!
Anyway, good to know your back is getting better René, and that someone can (partly) take over your task!
Can we still call you Sarah, or do we have to call you drillsergeant Sarah, or your highness Sarah?

Re: Welcome to the new message boards! in Site Announcements

Ah, finally something new from the T? side! It was pretty hard not to be able to look on the WOM every day, after doing that for a long time already. But it looks great, I just have to figure out how all the new stuff works. Cheers everybody!!

Re: Site updates and news about the official site.. in Site Announcements

Congrats Rene, you really deserve it! See it as a reward for all the work you put into this site, which is way better than the official site I must say, but I guess the lads discovered that one out for themselves. Anyway, make sure to include a board like this, it’s the nicest one I ran across, with so many nice people and stuff. Anyway, keep up the good work mate!!

Re: Message board updates announcement in Site Announcements

It may be an idea to enable html in the msg boards, although that might lead to some sick guys who post all kinds of strange pictures. I don’t know if there’s any way to prevent this?

Re: Site performance survey, please read. in Site Announcements

Well, the overall speed of the site is ok, but sometimes, it takes some time to load the page. It’s also odd that teethgrinder.com takes a long time to load, whereas it doesn’t take as long when I type in therapyquestionmark.com. And the speed of the Wall Of Mouths also fluctuates a lot. Sometimes, everything pops up immediately, whereas it takes a long time to load a reply or a message sometimes.
This probably has something to do with my connection. I have cable (@Home, Noord Brabant). The speed in general of my cable connection also fluctuates a lot.

Re: Problem with menu on message board in Site Announcements

I don’t know if it’s just me, but before this menu appeared in the top-left corner of my screen, I recieved a run-time error on every page I clicked. I have this very often, but I never had it with Teethgrinder.com. Does this have something to do with the error you mentioned, or is it just my computer (which I think it is)?

Re: New Stuff & A Happy New Year in Site Announcements

That’s a good idea, perhaps we could vote for every album at once, not every month or so, that would take too long.

Re: New Stuff & A Happy New Year in Site Announcements

That’s the problem with the songs: There are just too many of them! Everybody has their own favourite, of course. And how many people are on this board and vote (if we assume everybody votes just once), about 150, at max? So if a song gets like 5 votes, it will be pretty high on the list, I think. If a song gets 2, it will be significantly lower than a song with 5 votes, whereas the difference is only 3 votes. Do you see my point?

Re: New Stuff & A Happy New Year in Site Announcements

It’s pretty hard to make a new poll, isn’t it? I mean, with albums, you only have 7 options, but with songs, there are over a hundred. If you do a thing like favourite song, you should do it in open question form (cos it’s a free world, people don’t like it when their choices are being limited!), but would that be representative? I think the spread among people’s preferences is too large when only 150 people vote for over a 100 songs. Trust me, I study for it! So therefore, the poll should only contain questions with a limited number of answers (preferably under 10). Some things you can to, besides some other options mentioned like favourite band members (I don’t like this idea!) are:

-best bootleg
-best cd-cover
-best video (how many videos did they make btw?)

I know it sounds like bullocks, but it does make sense. I think…
