Re: Confirmed Dutch gigs (JD rock nights) in Therapy? Live

I’ll be in Tilburg as well!!! Would be nice to meet you guys again!

Re: Only One Guitar in Therapy? Live

But on the other hand: we won’t be hearing the boring, sloooooooow version of Diane ever again. If they’ll ever play it live again, it’ll be the *cool* rocking version!

Didn’t really miss the second guitar I must say. Nowhere sounded great as always, even Stories sounded good without the cello!

Re: Tilburg in Therapy? Live

I really liked the 013 show, best one out of the four 013 T? gigs I’ve seen so far. The crowd wasn’t that bad I thought, way better than at previous 013 gigs. Good setlist as well, good to see the lads liked the gig themselves as well!

Always great to meet some of you WOMbles on tour again, greetings to Robby, Gie, and Ronald!

Therapy? once again in 013 Tilburg! in Therapy? Live

Title: Therapy? once again in 013 Tilburg!

Just read it on the website of 013 Tilburg: Therapy? will play on Sunday Nov. 21 in Tilburg! It seems they have quite a preference for playing in Tilburg the last couple of years, they play it every major tour. It’s a keeper, also because it’s only a 30 min. drive from the place where I live :D

Hope to see some of you guys there! Oh yeah, pre-sale starts Oct. 2!

Re: Set list in Therapy? Live

To my knowledge, there has never been a setlist made up of audience requests only. Sure, they let the audience choose between two songs every know and then, but an entire set?? And of course there was the poll of last year’s Fall tour, where four (?) songs were chosen by the WoMbles from a list of so-called ‘obscure’ songs selected by the lads themselves.

Re: Festivals ? in Therapy? Live

They do play at festivals, just not the ‘major’ festivals like Roskilde, Werchter, Pinkpop, etc. anymore. They mostly play at the smaller festivals during the summer. In the last couple of years they have played at Forestglade, Bospop, Dour, to name a few. And of course the small local ‘festivals’ like Lokeren, Zottegem, and Leuven. So it’s not that they don’t play at festivals anymore, just not the big ones.

Re: Did T? have a gig in Latvia, Lithuania or Estonia? in Therapy? Live

USA 63 times? That can’t be true! I also think they played more gigs in Holland, although they may have played here a lot more in the last couple of years than they did before.

Re: Are T? playin new old songs on the tour? in Therapy? Live

Dang, how could I forget about Moment of Clarity?! Another highlight of last tour I think! Anyway, there you have it Kill_Hill: three pretty ‘rare’ live songs!

Re: Are T? playin new old songs on the tour? in Therapy? Live

Actually, they did another poll last fall in which some rarely played songs were chosen, didn’t you notice? The four songs that won the poll were Stop It You’re Killing Me, Dancin’ With Manson, Straight Life, and Teethgrinder (not sure about this last one). Especially Dancin’ With Manson was awesome, definately one of the highlights on the setlists of their last tour.

Re: Help needed with bootlegs! in Therapy? Live

Cheers guys, you legends! Still one question though about the St. Entry Minneapolis gig: I checked the setlist on a Tapetrader.com page, and there it says that track 3 (track 12, Auto Surgery, on my list) should be Perversonality? And track 7 (track 16, Totally Random Man, on my list) should be Auto Surgery according to the Tapetrader.com setlist. Is this a mistake?

Help needed with bootlegs! in Therapy? Live

Title: Help needed with bootlegs!

Alright my friends, help me out here! I have this big pile of T? bootlegs in front of me, and today I wanted to start making sleeves. There’s one minor problem: I don’t have the tracklists (anymore)! I’m really lost here, I have no idea which shows they are. Does anybody know the shows and the dates belonging to the tracklists below?

———-

1. Turn
2. Kiss me on the ghost train
3. I fought the law
4. Nowhere
5. Potato Junkie
6. The boy’s asleep

This one was recorded in Brussels, Belgium, but I don’t know the venue and the date.

——————-

1.Church Of Noise
2.Unbeliever
3.Die Laughing
4.Stories
5.Black Eye Purple Sky
6.Knives
7.Teethgrinder
8.Tightrope Walker
9.Isolation
10.Diane
11.Loose
12.Lonely, Cryin’, Only
13.Straight Life
14.Screamager
15.Stay Happy

I guess this show is from ‘98 or early ‘99, could it be Olympia Dublin??

————

1. Gimme back my brain
2. Hellbelly
3. Lonely cryin’ only
4. This one’s for you
5. Die laughing
6. Tango Romeo
7. He’s not that kind of girl
8. Stalk and slash
9. Stories
10. Diane
11. Isolation
12. Joey
13. Joey/Master/Knives
14. Screamager
15. Denim demon
16. Potato junkie
17. Nowhere

This must be a show from 2001, either a summer festival or the Shameless tour?

————

1. Nausea
2. Perversonality
3. Innocent X
4. Neck freak
5. Fantasy bag
6. Accelerator
7. Teethgrinder
8. Breaking the law
9. Potato junkie
10. Speedball
11. Teethgrinder
12. Auto surgery
13. Opal mantra
14. Turn
15. Knives
16. Totally random man
17. Accelerator
18. Isolation
19. Nausea
20. Screamager
21. Potato junkie

Track 1-9 are from 1st Avenue, Minneapolis I think, but I can’t place tracks 10-21. Must be from some ‘93 show I guess??

—————

Hope someone can help me out!

Re: Therapy? asking outrageous prices? in Therapy? Live

This can’t be right, I can’t imagine that they would ask a price that high. They have played loads of smaller festivals in the last couple of years, and I don’t think these festivals would have booked them if they had asked a price like that. I can’t tell you form sure though. Perhaps you could ask the organization of these smaller festivals? You might ask the guys from Rock Zottegem, Lokerse Feesten, Leffinge Leuren, or similar festivals.

I’m pretty sure I’m right in saying that Suicide Pact hadn’t come out yet when they played Camden on the SP tour.

Which Camden gig do you mean? The Electric Ballroom? That gig was on Oct. 14 in 1999, I seem to remember that SP was released a week or so after that, it was the end of October anyway. I have a cd-r of that gig btw.

Re: Straight life… in Therapy? Live

I agree with you, Straight Life doesn’t sound nearly as powerful as it does on cd. On cd, it’s that wall of guitars and noise that makes the song great, I kinda missed that in the live version. Another song that had the same problem was Opal Mantra, back when Graham was still drumming.
But then again, some songs sound better played live than on album. Good examples are Dancin With Manson and Stalk And Slash.

Re: Perfect Setlist? in Therapy? Live

Would be nice if the setlist contained:

Skyward
Punishment kiss
Dancin with Manson (don’t ever leave this one off the setlist guys!!)
Nausea
Disgracelands
Opal Mantra
Totally random man
Nowhere (it remains a fav)
Brainsaw
Misery
Me vs you
Lonely cryin’ only
Safe
Little tongues first
Dance
This one’s for you
If it kills me
Watch you go
Never ending
Hey satan, you rock

It’ll never happen, but you gotta have some dreams, right?

Re: de vooruit in Therapy? Live

Sounds like you lot had a great time yesterday, too bad I couldn’t be present!

@Robby: Don’t worry mate, you’ll survive! I once did 55 hours without any sleep. Of course I didn’t have to go to work, but I had to go to this 50 years anniversary ‘party’ (…) my grandparents organised. The average age in there must have been higher than 65, and the ‘artists’ that ‘performed’ adapted the music to these oldies. So you see, it’s all relative, my friend! Good luck anyway!

Re: How to see T? live when you’re wife don’t want you to in Therapy? Live

She looks really sweet in that T?-shirt Karl! Did you make the shirt yourself or something?

So for me, they should shock the audience awake from the start. They could even wait with Moment of Clarity to open the encore.

Depends on the place of Diane on the setlist. Diane and A Moment… should be played as far apart as possible, since they’re both ‘mellow’ tunes. But I should add that I love A Moment Of Clarity, both on cd and live! Could live without Diane though, especially that dreadfully slow version, I really don’t like that version.

As they opened the shows on this tour with ‘smash’ hits quite often I was surprised to see that it took the audience a while to get going. So from this point of view I think A Moment Of Clarity is a good choice, better than ‘wasting’ e.g. Nowhere

They have enough killer songs to open I think. I would save a song like A Moment Of Clarity for somewhere in the middle of the set, after the crowd has been ‘won’, if you know what I mean.

Am hoping they open with A Moment Of Clarity again at Leeds - I really like the idea of that.

That’s funny, cos I couldn’t think of a worse song to open a gig. A gig should be opened with a strong powerful song to get the crowd going. They opened the 013 Tilburg gig with A Moment Of Clarity, and it really took a while before they ‘won’ the crowd. I think it’s a superb song, also when played live, but it’s by no means a good song to open a gig, imho.

Re: T? in Leipzig in Therapy? Live

You’re damn right it sounds gay, with a name like that everybody would expect a half naked indian, a construction worker, a biker in leather, and a policeman to perform!

Never heard anything of them, the name convinces me to keep it that way. Who on earth would come up with a name like ‘Pinkostar’??!!

Re: T? in Leipzig in Therapy? Live

I’m VERY surprised to see that Die Laughing is missing, are you sure they didn’t play it? That would be the first time since Troublegum came out they didn’t play it I think. Do you think it has anything do with our comments on the ‘predictable’ songs on the setlist?

Re: Live setlist (change regulars?) in Therapy? Live

Thought I’d let you know my opinion on this… My feeling regarding the setlist is that the number of ‘certainties’ is growing, which leaves less and less space for other songs that aren’t played very often. Some of the certainties are:

Nowhere
Screamager
Die laughing
Knives
Teethgrinder
Church of noise
Potato junkie
Diane
I am the money

I know they can’t play every song they have ever written, but perhaps they could omit one of the certainties every now and then, and replace it by another song. About half of the setlist is taken by these certainties, which is quite a lot I think.
But then again, I once read that they will always play songs like Screamager and Nowhere simply out of respect for the fans, after all these songs are the songs that put them on the map.
Having said this, I think the setlists on this tour are the best since years! They have a lot of variation, and they gave us loyal fans the opportunity to pick some of our own favourites. Hint: you might want to do this more often guys, I don’t think anybody disagrees!

Re: Amsterdam: Paradiso gig in Therapy? Live

Dancin with Manson will remain an absolute live classic after this tour, I have never heard a song played live so brilliantly and with so much power, can’t believe we had to wait so long to hear it (again)! As the fans were the ones voting for it: long live democracy!!

Re: Recording gigs…Allowed? in Therapy? Live

Whether you will be able to record the gig (audio and/or video) does not only depend on the band. Frankly, I don’t think Therapy? gives a rat’s ass when someone tapes the shows, as long as this is not done to earn money from it. Some venues don’t allow cameras at any gigs, so maybe you could check with the venue first whether they allow it? I knows clubs in Holland that absolutely don’t allow any professional cameras, though most of the clubs will accept ‘simple’ disposable cameras. Dunno about video cameras.

Re: Paradiso - Amsterdam webcast in Therapy? Live

Mission accomplished! I made a VCD of it, so I can watch it on a big-ass widescreen TV now with my DVD player! I just made an MPEG file of it, cut it in two (both parts are approx. equally long), and made 2 VCD’s of it. If anyone’s interested in trading, drop me an email (click on my name and choose ‘Click here to e-mail Michael’, I don’t like posting my e-mail address openly on the web).
Also, I managed to extract the audio from the video as a separate WAV file, and cranked the volume up so it sounds way better than the audio you hear in the video file. Still have to edit it (make separate songs of it), but I’ll try and do that tonight or tomorrow. As with the VCD’s, I will make 2 cd’s of it that are about equally long (cd 2 will start with Dancin’ with Manson). Again, if you’re interested, drop me an e-mail.

Re: Paradiso - Amsterdam webcast in Therapy? Live

Correction: I made a WMV file of it instead of an ASF file.
