Re: Best Therapy? Riff Ever!!! in General Therapy? Topics
Little Tongues First, Punishment Kiss, Innocent X, Nowhere… All are great. But how about Straight Life? Great guitar!

When, where, how? Is it the same as last time, when you had to post your questions first before asking them? I hope you mean 10 P.M., btw…

Re: Best therapy? single in General Therapy? Topics
I guess my fav b-side is ‘Auto Surgery’, which was not on a single, but an EP. Other great b-sides are, among others, Evil Elvis, Kids Stuff, and Nice Guys. I also like Suing God, btw…

No, no language comes close to the nonsense this guy is throwing at us! It’s a whole new language only his kind can understand. Fortunately, he’s the only specimen of his kind. Let’s keep it that way…

Re: Hello Everyone in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
johnnyboy, you’re not that smart yourself… There are tons of good bands which are not popular, at least, outside the U.S. Only people who like rock and listen to underground stuff know bands like Undeclinable Ambuscade, Amorphis, Face To Face, Terrorgruppe, No Motiv, In Extremo, Fuel, The Get Up Kids and even Therapy? Just because these bands aren’t popular, does not mean that they aren’t good. Fact is that most bands change their sound once they become more popular, e.g. Metallica, Foo Fighters, Krezip. I liked these bands better when they weren’t as popular as they are now. Metallica’s first albums, like Master Of Puppets and Ride The Lightning, were way better than the later stuff, like Load and Reload. And the 2nd album of the Foo’s was way better than There Is Nothing Left To Loose.
Again, I don’t give a damn whether a band is popular or not. The thing is, once bands become popular, they often change both music and attitude, which is not always good. But that’s my opinion, just live with it…

Re: femtex ? in General Therapy? Topics
I guess it’s just another word-joke, like screamager (= scream + teenager) and perversonality (personality + perverse). Perhaps it’s got something to do with semtex and the French ‘femme’? I’m not sure about it though…

Re: Ideal big night out line up in Chit-Chat
That would be nice, something like a festival with only my fav bands:) Ok, here’s mine, not in any particular order:
Therapy?
Terrorgruppe
Creed
Bush
Foo Fighters
Feeder
Metallica
Blink 182
Undeclinable Ambuscade
3 Doors Down
Get Up Kids
Offspring
btw, I noticed that some T? fans really hate Blink. Is it because of their music, or what? I love the thing they did with All The Small Things, it must be the funniest video ever… I know Enema is a commercial, poppy album, but I love it. But hey, it’s a free world, right?

Re: Good Fuckin Night in General Therapy? Topics
I paid only 30 guilders, that’s about $12, for Caucasian Psychosis. That worth it every cent, it’s pretty cheap. And it wasn’t even used, I just bought it at a local record store (where they sell lots of (old) T? singles too!)

Re: Hello Everyone in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Hey InnocentX, I’m with you man… I don’t give a f*ck about charts either. What I do hate is when bands choose for the money, instead of the music. This is often linked with a poppier sound. A band like Krezip, for instance, definately went for the money, which resulted in a bad, bad album. Therapy? on the other hand, choose for the music, since they don’t give a damn about charts either. This makes T? a unique band, with it’s own unique sound. I haven’t heard anything like their music yet, which can’t be said about other bands…

Re: Hello Everyone in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Therapy? reached the 9th spot of the British charts with Screamager, and they scored an international hit with Diane. And Troublegum was a huge commercial success. So you could call T? poppy. However, Therapy? did not choose the easiest way. Instead of making Troublegum part II, they chose to take another path, and make different sounding albums. This is why T? is so great: they are not as predictable as other (rock)bands, they do things the way they like it, they do not let anybody (record companies) tell them what to do, and every single album has its own, different sound.

Re: T? stuff… in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade
Thanks for the info. Does anybody know about a bootleg with some of the newer stuff? Most bootlegs contain more or less the same stuff, mostly from Troublegum. I’m especially looking for live versions of songs like Bad Karma, Lonely, cryin’only (not the acoustic version), Straight Life, Diane (new, rock version), Little Tongues First, etc.

T? stuff… in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade
Title: T? stuff…
Where do you guys get all your T? stuff from? Some of you were talking about some fair a couple of weeks ago. Do you know any dates of upcoming fairs in Holland (preferably near Brabant)?
Another thing I wondered: How are your experiences with buying stuff from e-bay? Do the items always arrive?
Also: I’m interested in buying some stuff from T? fans in Holland, like bootlegs (Who did this?, Dead Laughing, etc.). Would anybody be willing to sell these, or make a copy of it? I have a large cd-collection to trade from, including some ‘home-made’ Therapy? cd’s: 2 cd’s with B-sides (17 tracks on each) and a live album, which is basically a collection of songs from different gigs, e.g. Bizarre, Forestglade, Roskilde, etc. Although I already have some live stuff, I would like a complete gig on one album, just to have an ‘equal’ sound.

Re: What Song(s) should’ve been on 10 Year Plan in General Therapy? Topics
I definately miss Opal Mantra on the Retro album! There are too few Semi-Detached tracks on it, and maybe the rock version of Diane should have been on the playlist.

Re: what do you think the best 3 T? song are? in General Therapy? Topics
I counted 104 (could be 1 or 2 more or less). This includes all the albums (excl. the Retrospective)and about all the B-sides. Then I have a lot of live stuff and some remixes. So it’s really hard to make a choice!
I still can’t get enough of their music though. The more I listen to albums like Caucasian and SP-YF, the more I like them! The two new tracks are also superb, especially Bad Karma is great. Fat Camp should be great live, unfortunately T? didn’t play it in 013 Tilburg.

Re: What have you been listening to…? in General Therapy? Topics
All are great bands/albums:
The Get Up Kids - Something to write home about
Undeclinable Ambuscade - One For The Money & Their Greatest Adventures
Face To Face - Reactionary
Amorphis - Tuonela
Fuel - Sunburn
In Extremo - Verehrt Und Angespien
Blink 182 - Enema Of The State
Foo Fighters - The Colour And The Shape

Re: Diane in General Therapy? Topics
I went to the T? gig in 013 tilburg this night, and the fast live version of Diane is great! Much, much better than the new recording.

Re: Diane in General Therapy? Topics
I totally agree with infernalover. The new recording (the first part of it) is far too slow. It becomes a good song when the drums kick in. The original version is special, because it was the first time Therapy? recorded a song like that. I think it’s T?’s greatest hit yet in Holland.

Re: what about the best T? album? in General Therapy? Topics
For me, the threesome Troublegum, Infernal Love, and Semi-Detached are the best albums. I think Troublegum is slightly better than the rest, because it contains no weak tracks, it’s just the most ‘constant’ album.

Re: what do you think the WORST 3 T? songs are? in General Therapy? Topics
Let’s just call it the least best songs:
1. God Kicks
2. Tramline
3. Hate Kill Destroy
Do you really hate Little Tongues First that much? I think it’s one of the better tracks on SP-YF actually…

Re: Are these real demos? in General Therapy? Topics
Opal mantra should be 2:31 mins. For Disgracelands, it depends which version you have. For the original Nurse version, it should last 3:42 mins, the new recording should last 4:14 mins. In my opinion, the new recording’s quality is somewhat better, and I like the guitar better.
When you’re downloading MP3’s make sure that the quality is at least 128 kbps, 44 kHz. For some rare songs, try BrainsawX’s page.

Re: So Much For That Ten Year Plan… in General Therapy? Topics
In fact, there already are some live albums, the only thing is that they’re not official releases (bootlegs). One of them is ‘Dead Laughing’, but there are some more. So I’d suggest to look in record stores for second hand cd’s or something, that’s how I found Caucasian Psychosis. But I haven’t found a live album either…

Re: Did I miss something or what???? in General Therapy? Topics
According to CDNOW and amazon.co.uk, the release date will be October the 2nd. There will be two versions, one with original ‘album’ songs, and one which will include some b-sides and remixes. Check amazon.co.uk for more details.

Usual playlist in Therapy? Live
Title: Usual playlist
Since I’m going to the T? concert in 013 (Tilburg) next month, I’d like to new what songs they usually play. Do they play a lot of old songs (I hope so), or mostly the SP-YF songs?

Re: GREAT NEWS. MP3.com FINED 118 MILLION DOLLARS. in Chit-Chat
Episode X in the Napster story… Alright, allow me to share my ideas with you. Fine websites or people using that website does not solve the problem, because the Internet is becoming more powerful by the hour. Even if Napster is shut down, other sites will take their place. Banning Napster is only a short term solution. I do realize that Napster can cause some serious harm to (beginning) bands, but you should look for the real cause of the whole Napster thing: it’s the record companies. They may claim that the largest part of the selling price contains of production costs, but that’s a lie. The only party who can fight Napster is the record companies themselves. They act as if they can’t help it that Napster is taking over their once so powerful business. My suggestion is: do something with your product to make people believe in it again. This can be done in lots of ways, not in the last place by lowering the price. But also by adding extra features to a CD that can’t be downloaded, like videos interviews, etc. Another good idea is already put into action by Creed: on creednet.com, you can download music for free. The only thing you need is an original Creed CD to enter the downloads. Another example is giving people discounts to merchandise, future releases, or even concert tickets, by proving you purchased an original product.
Besides, I think the whole Napster issue is somewhat exaggerated. When I didn’t use Napster, I used to go to the library, rent a CD, and burn it at home. This is perfectly legal, I believe, as long as you use the copy for private means. Perhaps there should be something like a monthly fee to allow people to use tools like Napster to download music.

Does anybody have an indication of the price of a T?-shirt? Because I’m planning to buy more than one shirt at the 013 gig, so it would be nice to know how much it’s going to cost me!
