Re: Dublin Show 10/03/2012 CONFIRMED in Therapy? Live

Were you stood near me then? I had one lady on my right who barely moved a muscle the entire time, and another (who put a bag over the barrier if that rings a bell) on my left who did junp around like they were at the front row of a T? gig

Great gig, ears wre ringing for two days afterwards. Ghost Trio was fantastic live! Good to meet up with a few WoMbles too, shame about 6 o’clock start the next morning and the 5.30 one for 3 of the 4 following mornings :-s

Pretty impressed with Souls as well, will keep an ear out for more from them!

Is the Thomas House easy to find?

I’ll be the bloke wandering around in a Happiness Industry T-shirt, looking lost…

Re: A Brief CracK Of Light in General Therapy? Topics

Stalk & slash is one of the few tracks I actually like on that album, the vocals have a sort of ‘jubilant menace’ to them, which is really cool :-)

Re: Get well soon Diamond Dave in General Therapy? Topics

Now that Cuch has mentioned it, its hard not to see the similarities (@Hooch whaddaya mean you don’t watch Hairy Bikers???). Not idea what DD’s cooking is like though, but hope the recovery’s going well.

Re: A Brief CracK Of Light in General Therapy? Topics

NANE’s definitely my favourite, Shameless the least, but ABCOL & Crooked Timber have got to be up there near the top

Re: looking for a fast therapy? song in General Therapy? Topics

I take it this is one you’ve heard & not just the type of song you’d like to hear?

Bloody Blue was my initial thought too

Re: Advice on getting a laptop? in Chit-Chat

It’s not urgent-urgent, we’ve been grumbling at the current machine for over a year and done nothing & current priority is to save for a new camera before holiday, but that will (hopefully) result in a stack more photos to be saved somewhere…

Re: Advice on getting a laptop? in Chit-Chat

Hmm, ideally under £400, subject to how reasonable that is, could possibly be stretched if there’s something brilliant for just a little more, but the more I spend on IT, the less I spend on beer and so on.

Re: Advice on getting a laptop? in Chit-Chat

Our PC (Acer something-or-other, 2.6GHz/2.00GB processor, 2*144Gb hard drives, Windows Vista Home Premium), is beginning to get a bit creaky, and the drive we’ve stuck all the music & photos on is more or less full - should we replace it with another PC or a laptop and if so, any suggestions as to what?

Furthermore, as per Dell’s laterst ad email and a quick flick on Amazon, most cheaper PCs seem to have 500GB of hard drive space - is this going to be enough (we have a 1TB external drive for backups)? I’m inclined to think that the more space the better these days…

Any thoughts welcome, although a purchase probably isn’t going to have happen for a month or two…

Re: Whats the next gig you want to go to? in Chit-Chat

Tribes next week, then a quick trip over to Dublin next month for Therapy? and back to London for Ladyhawke the next day :-)

Re: What’s everybody reading in Chit-Chat

I read Them when it came out & really loved his style - he’s very self-effacing which works well when looking at the absurdity of others. Need to finish William Gibson’s ‘Distrust that Particualr Falvour next, which is also a collection (mainly magazine articles he’s written).

Re: What’s everybody reading in Chit-Chat

Picked up Jon Ronson’s ‘The Psychopath Test’ oat the airport for a holiday read but didn’t get much chance to read it whilst away - got more into it on the way home and finished it instead of gettting some sleep, then had to go straight into work… but its really funny, a bit scary, very readable and highly recommended to anyone that liked ‘The Men Who Stare At Goats’

Admit it, given the chance who wouldn’t come on over Shania Twain?

Easy music question for DD - what song did John Peel once play twice in a row on radio 1

ti as in… take your pick, masturbation, copulation, fornication, and many other words which wouldn’t imply I’m still 13 years old on the inside…

Re: Ballads in General Therapy? Topics

Love MoC. The Boy’s Asleep just came on iTunes at random and I think its just amazing, I know gigs are normally best the the noisiest shoutiest songs saved for last but seem to recall this being played (after the band had left the stage???) when the guys were touring S-D and have always loved it
