Re: The Damned in Other Bands & Artists
There’s a million and one best ofs & compilations but ‘The Light At the End of the Tunnel’ is a pretty good collection & the record I grew up with.
Strawberries is a pretty cool album although bit less spiky than the others

Awww…
I have spent the evening listening to CSS and quite liked them although the sounded very young and made me feel like a would-be Groovy Parent. But my mate who lent me the album is ancient too so that’s okay. Kinda.

Out of the ones you’ve listed, I’d go for ‘The Prodgy’, then the Chems.
Klaxons way better than both - do they count?

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists
Oh, they play mini golf. That’s good, I like that.
I’m glad they’re not called ‘The’ Wolfbiker though. THere’s too much of that sort of thing these days.

Any of it as good as The Frog Chorus? That’s a great one for balmy summer evenings.

Hey! History of A Time to Come and Dreamweaver are both on iTunes! Roll on payday…

First album is good. Second is very good. Third (following a line-up change) is dire. Only have them on vinyl so haven’t played them for years, but always thought they were pretty cool.

Re: Stereophonics - yay or nay? in Other Bands & Artists
First album was okay, but then they disappeared up their arses, cancelled a gig that I was going to see, and generally started beliving they were godlike geniuses in a Lenny Krappitz sort of way, which gets on my tits. So do take a dump on the bonnet of their cars for me, if you see them.

Re: Suede in Other Bands & Artists
First album was okay - never really played it much and um, had a dodgy copy without the Drowners on it (tape fuck up by a mate). Dog Man Star was great, but sounds very dated now. Coming up had some good tunes, but some duff ones, whereas yes, Head Music was crap. Didn’t bother with the last one.
Remeber a review of T? about the time of DMS saying that Suede fans had a duty to be skinny and pretty whereas T? rang that much truer, partly because Andy ‘looked like a Kwik Fit Fitter’. :)
LOL re pics :D

Re: Muse in Other Bands & Artists
KOC (must we call it that?) rocks - didn’t like it at first but it was fantastic as a set closer live. They keep playing it at the gym, which is nice when you’re trying to squeeze out that last rep.

Disappointed ?
No, I thoughgt that they were great. THey just seem to sell out very quickly and its taken since Muscle Museum was re-released ti seee then once.
Does anyone else like ‘SOS’ by Rihanna? Much better than Marilyn Manson’s version of Tainted Love!

Farewell to Twilight was pretty good.
Muse rocked at Wembley Arena - first (and probably last) time I got to see them live. Would imagine they’ll do something pretty special for the stadium.

Re: The Killers in Other Bands & Artists
Really liked Hot Fuss so was really looking forward to Sam’s Town - then heard it and thought ‘oh dear, bad case of ‘difficult second album syndrome”.
However, after about 5-6 plays it starts getting in your head - you start to like ‘When You Were Young’ and ‘Read My Mind’, ‘For Reasons Unknown’ and ‘This River Is Wild’ and even ‘Uncle Jonny’ and ‘Bling’ start to sound pretty good.
‘Bones’, however, does not grow on you - it is probably the weakest track on the album and a dreadful choice for second single.

Re: Your albums of this year (2006) in Other Bands & Artists
I don’t think I’ve bought much this year, but
OCFA - T?
Sam’s Town - The Killers (takes at least 5 plays before you get it)
Black Holes & Revelations - Muse
The Open Door - Evanescence
That’s possibly all I’ve bought!
