Re: General Happy Birthday Topic! in Chit-Chat

Thank you! Part of the day was spent downing gin and tonics and getting mildly merry on the train, surrounded by dull looking people trying to work - v decadent :-)

Past tense? Has he died? I hope he got an advance on his autobiography, it’s only just come out.

Re: Transfer VHS to DVD (on PC) in Chit-Chat

No, but I’d be interested to know what other people think though.

You must have a wealth of T? stuff on VHS I’m guessing?

Re: Some great films coming out this year!… in Chit-Chat

So, is Transformers a 12A or PG? Showcase lists it as a 12A, but the weekly email from Cineworld says PG…

Re: Some great films coming out this year!… in Chit-Chat

Thought something looked wrong. SHE’s really irritating, like and itch you can’t reach, in actress form.

Re: Some great films coming out this year!… in Chit-Chat

Kate Blanchett?

THere’s something really annoying about her.

Peaches or nectarines?

Re: What was the word? in Chit-Chat

we live in a stupid age. 20 years ago, you called someone a name, they’d complain to their parents (okay, maybe not aged 33 they wouldn’t) & their parents would remind them that ‘sticks and stones may break my bones but…’

Apparently that adage no longer holds quite so true.

Re: what to do? help! in Chit-Chat

Type a letter, leave it where she’ll find it, she won’t recgnise the hand writing. :D

Probably best to leave it, but be ready with the tissues for when she does find out from elsewhere.

As all involved sound under 30 (oh, okay Hooch, 25), I really think you shouldn’t be having any intimate physical relationships anyway. Concentrate on your studies.

What was the word? in Chit-Chat

Title: What was the word?

First, read this…
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/6253688.stm

Next, can anyone tell me what the offending word was? No one seems to actually say what it was! Who decided it was offensive? We don’t have all the facts here! When ‘nigger’ can be used as much as you like after one person has said it, and ‘cunt’ gets bandied about like its just an every day object, as in:

‘Sh’s said it, she said the N-word!’
‘What N-word? She said said nigger?’
‘She did! She said niggger!’
‘The racist little cunt!’

It seems odd that some word that ‘might’ offend some disabled people is too terrible to even mention…

My money’s on spacker.

Re: Whats the next gig you want to go to? in Chit-Chat

I got free tickets to see 9 Black Alps last week, which made me very happy.

Have tickets for Klaxons in December - long time to wait :(

hmmm. Well I shall give you the benefit of the doubt on this occasion. Seeing as she is 27 and it isn’t much of a chat up line. Sorry about that.

No hard feelings, eh? :)

None, they said the nerve damage was too great to repair :(

It would seem far more sensible to do it with someone else’s phone I think.

Precisely! No-one can hear anything. And do you no why we can’t here anything?

Hooray for Hooch. in Chit-Chat

Title: Hooray for Hooch.

If I have a daughter, I might call her Sarah. Or possibly Hooch. Probably not Lobster. But Srah’s great anyway. :) Well done, very good.

60s, as you’ve probably still got your own teeth and aren’t yet incontinent.

Heroes or Celebratons?

Re: caught with your pants down in Chit-Chat

Ahh, not normally anywhere near LSE that time of day.

I hate being cruel to animals, but it is tempting to ‘accidentally’ step on one of thir silly dogs. Or befriend them, get them to spend loads of their dad’s money on me, do them up the arse, shit on their dad’s jag/mum’s 4*4 and then give them a ‘why are you fed up’ look.

Re: This or that thread in Chit-Chat

Probably Galaxy, due to its sexually provocative advertising.

Mars Delight or Galaxy caramel?

A question for The Auto Surgeon in Chit-Chat

Title: A question for The Auto Surgeon

If you know Holborn well, do you know if anywhere around Covent Garden sells Bench clothing? Really don’t have time to tramp all the way to Oxford St.

Re: caught with your pants down in Chit-Chat

The Auto Surgeon wrote:

Yeah, I know what you mean. I seem to be seeing more & more of them walking around Holborn - But then I have the LSE nearby, so there is quite a variety to “observe”.

But as for shouting at them - don’t. It’ll only mean they know that they are getting attention & do it even more. Just see how many of them now get the Posh Spice/Katie Cruise-Holmes haircuts, that will be the next fad for those types.

I guess. Can’t say I’ve seen many near Holborn though - what time of day do they appear? I work near there & walk up Kingsway every day. Well, every day I get the bus to the office anyway.
