Re: Marilyn Manson - Personal Jesus in Other Bands & Artists

Or the fact that on his last album he looked like Papa Lazarous from the League Of Gentlemen ( you’re ma wife noooooooowwww… ).

Just heard the latest addition to the Manson bad karaoke show. Boo.. rubbish!

He’s not the anti-christ, he’s a very naughty boy.

Re: New Megadeth in Other Bands & Artists

If I recall correctly, this album originally started off as Mustaine’s solo album, then he got together with Poland so they decided it would be the new Megadeth album.

Now, if one was cynical.. one may suggest that a new Megadeth album was a more attractive idea than a Mustaine solo album in terms of sales…

Not that I’m cynical or anything… oh no sir.

Re: New Megadeth in Other Bands & Artists

Apparently the whole hand injury story was to cover the fact that Mustaine was back on the drugs… I’m not sure if he did actually have a hand problem due to over indulgance… from what I’ve read and heard Ellefson had got to the point where he couldn’t put up with it anymore.

It’s bizarre to think that they were the biggest metal band bar Metallica a few years back, a sorry lesson on how to truley fuck up a career!

Re: The Killers in Other Bands & Artists

I’m going to go against the grain here by saying that I thought the album was bollocks! There’s some ok riffs on there, but as a whole the album made me go “uuuuurrrrrggghhhh!”, and then there’s his voice, which made me go “uuuuuuuurrrrrgggghhh!”

So then, just to sum up..

“Uuuuuuuurrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!”

Re: best cover songs ever? in Other Bands & Artists

Lawnmower Deth- Kids in America, now there was a quality recording!

Failing that Come as you are by The King, it sounded far better than the original!

GLC-You knows it! in Other Bands & Artists

Title: GLC-You knows it!

I’d just like to take this opportunity to highlight the plight of the unemployed in deepest darkest welsh- land. If ye be wondering what the bollocks I’m on about I says check out Golide Looking Chain, rap music has far too long been steadily going up it’s own arse, when you promote a gritty urban decay type culture despite having the name algeron sir owen spiffy pants the 3rd, then one really realises how far hip hop has dissapeared up it’s collective arse, here’s the antidote! Safe!

Re: Nirvana in Other Bands & Artists

A friend of mine had a framed ticket for a gig in wales ( fucked if I can remember what venue it was ) which was the actual day he did himself in, I’m guessing the Dublin gig was scheduled for the day after? He was offered over £400 for it by a collector but wouldn’t part with it. I do wonder if he hadn’t shot himself if Nirvana would simply be a relic of a bygone age, a bit like Pearl Jam became?

I can appreciate Nirvana a lot more now than when they first came out, it’s odd how you can get into bands more when the hyberboyle dies down a bit, you end up listening more to the music than journalistic opinion.

Re: the worst concert you’ve ever been at… in Other Bands & Artists

Re: Led Zeppelin - How The West Was Won triple CD… in Other Bands & Artists

I didn’t get any cd’s, just the T? DVD, and I have to say..it seems a bit flat compared to having been there!

Re: the worst concert you’ve ever been at… in Other Bands & Artists

Yeah, that was 94, in which he asked ” what music has the UK given to us?” to which the answer “punk” was not registering with the former singer of the hardcore punk band Black Flag!

Re: the worst concert you’ve ever been at… in Other Bands & Artists

Hole at Reading 94, the first gig they played after “that” incident, god it was bloody shambolic at best. Failing that I saw Dig twice, supporting T? and The Rollins band, and on both occasions they managed to be dreadful! So they’d probably take the vote on that one.

Whilst not the worst, one of the most dissapointing for me was Helmet at Reading also, they were tight but just seemed lost in their own little world, it felt like you were watching a rehearsal!

They wrote some really nice poetry already… “Fucked By A Knife” or “Devoured By Vermin”… why not… it does not always have to be lovesongs :D

And they appeared in Ace Ventura..which was the best thing they ever did in my opinion!

Re: Come the revolution… in Other Bands & Artists

Have you noticed that Fran Healy is wearing a hat in all the recent photoshoots plastered over magazine covers?

I don’t know why he bothers myself, you could see ages ago that he was going bald?

“Why does it always rain on me?” I don’t know why, but it shows that big fleshy patch on your bonce where your hair used to be…

Fran- The man who… went bald and couldn’t accept it!

Speaking as a Radiohead fan i think that album is terrible apart from Creep,Thinking About You,Prove Yourself and Blow Out.

No way! Pablo honey is a great indie album, The bends was a good album as well but suffered from over exposure in my opinion. OK computer was gash and what followed was just terrible.

Another one to add to the list..Black Rebel Motorcycle Club..from awesome debut album to lame follow up-what happened there?!

Re: a quick question in Other Bands & Artists

I’ve seen loads of unsigned/ up and coming bands on nights out, the only problem is, in the morning I usually can’t remember if they were any good or not! The only band who I could really remember was David Devant & His Spirit Wife!

I liked what Mark and Lard said today upon reading out the announcement, “one down..two to go!”
