Re: shameless - underrated and ahead of it’s time? in General Therapy? Topics

I have always loved this album, and have never really understood why so many people dislike it, each to their own though I guess. Personal favorites for me are Endless Psychology, Wicked Man, This ones for you and Tango Romeo.
Will take your recommendation to dig it out and listen to it, as it is an age since I have listened to it, no particular reason for this I hasten to add.

Re: The Almighty in Other Bands & Artists

I remember watching them in Manchester with Alice In Chains and Megadeth, fucking awesome gig for £10, loved Soul Destruction album, and always remember at the time having slight envy of Ricky Warwick being married to Vanessa from Headbangers Ball.

Re: UK Shows??? in Therapy? Live

Title: Preston

I watched them at the Mill on Scopophobia, the crowd weren’t up too much to be honest, and people were saying err where is Martin?
Not a bad venue though, but I think the Hop and Grape in Manc will get it again, I love it there

Re: Football in Chit-Chat

I thought we were playing really well until they scored, and our heads seemed to drop a little, but the goal back gave us some hope.
It seemed that we weren’t in awe of Barca, and didn’t seem phased by them, ok we got rings ran round us at times, but the faces on their players at the end.. total shock, they seemed to think they had the god given right to win.

The media made things worse regarding Portugal, some said Carragher was singing at the Bar with Gerrard, yet carragher said he wasn’t even in Portugal. They won’t get rid of Bellamy, he is a class player, Villa buying yet another one of our players, Baros Collymore Rosenthal…

Re: question? in General Therapy? Topics

You really should talk to them, they are so cool and really down to earth, none of the rock star bullshit so to speak.

When I first met them, I spoke to Andy about Donington 94, and with Michael about the ins and outs of going from one gig to another on tour. Can’t remember what I spoke to Martin about, but he was a really good bloke to speak to. Graham was still on the tour bus watching Swordfish, so I only managed to get his autograph rather than get to speak to him seriously.
I think the entire crew are really approachable, well I think anyway. Sam is great and when Diamond Dave is there… now he is one guy you really must talk to.

I really couldn’t see the likes of Metallica being like this with their fans, one to ones with the riff raff who are our fans? oooh I don’t think so.

I like the no shitting rule on the tour bus, now that must cause some riots after a curry

Re: Exclusive Therapy? webgig now available in General Therapy? Topics

Yeehaaa, cooking with gas now. I have put the videos on my laptop from work which has more memory than my desktop, this coupled with using real player instead of windows media player is getting results.

I think you were right how you describe fuzzy.
I have real player loaded already at home, so will give that a go tonight, if not I will try some of the others as it is mediaplayer that I was running the vids on. I downloaded LCO again, and it was still out of sync.
I have emailed Rene also, so he may be able to help me.

Re: Exclusive Therapy? webgig now available in General Therapy? Topics

Hi souldoubt, it gets like block graphics on the screen. All my video downloads seem to have issues with them. Lonely Crying Only you would think is dubbed from a foreign language with how far out it seems. I will give some of the other media players ago that people mention.

Re: Exclusive Therapy? webgig now available in General Therapy? Topics

On some of the videos I got, sometimes the pictures goes fuzzy, and sometimes the dubbing is out of sync, is this corrupted and means I need to download again?

Thanks

Or how about a vote from the last 3 albums? 12 tracks from the “Cooper” albums would give us a nice live representation of what they’ve done more recently, ie. no pesky Troublegum tracks out-staying their welcome! :)

I was thinking that Alan also, as all the tracks are not ones the Neil has been on originally. Still made up with the webgig though. I would still have liked the option to vote for Gimme a man after midnight.
The next thing to do, could possibly be a livestreaming gig from Micheal’s living room or something like that

Thanks for letting me know about the cover Hooch.

Re: maybe there’s no therapy for me after all? in General Therapy? Topics

[quote=buffalo-boy]Here is the unbiased truth:

SP:YF is intentionally fucked up. If you don’t like it don’t get Shameless - its more of the same, only worse. (tHo SPYF grew on me in the end!)

I don’t think these sound the same at all, but people do hear different things. For me, out of all the albums, it makes for one hell of a back catalogue in which to choose songs for a tour from.

Re: Your first Therapy? Gig in General Therapy? Topics

Was anyone at this gig?

I was at this gig and still have my long sleeve isolation shirt that is hammered but still in good nick. Not my first gig though, I watched them earlier in 94 at the Monsters Of Rock at Donnington, and it was this gig that got me into them, so then I got tickets for the Royal Court. No-one seems to play there anymmore, but prefer to play at the Carling Academy (old lomax) or at the University.

Can’t remember why they had a problem playing the song, can only vaguely remember the night. Tour after that played the apollo in Manchester for Infernal Love, shit venue in my opinion, but they still rocked underneath the metal heart

Re: So much for the 20 year plan (reprise) in General Therapy? Topics

1. This One’s For You
2. Endless Psychology
3. Stand In Line
4. Nobody here but us
5. Long Distance
6. Here be Monsters
7. Deluded Son
8. Fear of God

As for a new song, I would go for a cover, something wacky like The Ramones Baby I Love You

Yep Sam is the best, always approachable and willing to talk. I always thought that once Diamond stopped selling the gear, he would be hard to replace, but that hasn’t been the case.

Check the MEN website - they have a seating plan so you can check what block you are buying tickets in.

But a gig is always gonna suck if you are sat down like some granny at a Daniel O Donnel show :(

I guess it depends how late you leave it, as Bigmouth then tells you what row you will be in. Thankfully never had to sit down at the MEN, but I hate arena gigs, paying shit loads of money to watch a big screen, classic.

Re: Tickets postage in Chit-Chat

Can’t check as the standing tickets are sold out, fucking scandalous though, the booking fee always pisses me off for starters, but nearly 5 quid through the post is a fucking joke.
I think I have noticed this kind of pricing in the past, I’m not going to watch Maiden, but to be honest if there is someone I really want to watch, then I buy the tickets as soon as they come on sale, so that I can get standing tickets. Been to the MEN twice, and stood twice, too fucking big and what a lottery where you sit.

Tickets postage in Chit-Chat

Title: Tickets postage

Right, this sounds stupid but hopefully someone knows of a good reson why this happens.
Just had a look on bigmouth at Maiden tickets, for standing tickets the postage is £1.85 for seating tickets it is £4.80, where the hell do they get those kind of differences from?

I’d forgot about that. Hadn’t Andy thrown the bottle in, and next thing it was going everywhere. Lovely and refreshing though.

Why dont you just burn the set list for the recent tour maybe removing Diane, Fear of god and a few other songs to get it down to 80 mins?

For me Fear of God was one of the best songs live as I wasn’t that keen on it, and it was the first time I had heard Diane without cello, really working.
Not sure which two songs I’d drop, as a fan possibly knives and perhaps, mmm perhaps what.. struggling

Nice one for mentioning that, as I was wondering how many were there. I like it in there, nice and cosy, did you go down the stairs past Sam on the way out, as the Clone Roses were still playing in MDH2.
I know both gigs was pay on the door, but for Shameless they should have been in the hop and grape, but I’m sure someone told me advanced ticket sales had moved to the MDH2.

Yes, I’m happy with the fact that I have been at the biggest attendance gig. That was my introduction to T? Watching Pantera and Seps are the same bill was awesome, Aerosmith were fantastic headliners also. I had left the main crowd when Extreme were on, but could hear the booing, don’t know how true it is, but someone said that Nuno Bettencourt had had a go back at the crowd for booing. They should never have been on the bill. I didn’t see the Wildhearts on the small stage, I did see Biohazard though. Still got my 94 t-shirt it has stood the test of time well.

Re: Crowdsurfing banned by MOJO (Dutch) in Therapy? Live

Some really interesting view on here. Guess with being in my 30s now and having a family I don’t get to as many gigs as I used to, except T?, but there wasn’t any crowd surfing at Manchester on Saturday, saying that there was no security at the front so you would have been straight on the stage. The crowd surfers don’t worry me too much, as I am used to it being part of the occasion, but I don’t like the mosh pits, they are just fucking dangerous, even when you stay on the outside just trying to keep out of the way.
It was also good at a Slayer concert I was at a while back to hear Tom Araya say that if you see people go down , help them up.

I’ve never crowd surfed, and have only been pulled out once, during the Sep’s Chaos AD tour in Liverpool, now that was too much, felt like my ribs were caving in. I also agree with a lot of people who say the crowd surfing should be done for people who are ill. When I was younger and had a season ticket for the standing kop at Liverpool, the fans knew someone was ill and could get them down to the front for first aid quicker than the paramedics could cut threw the crowd.

As for stage diving, I would have loved to see this incident with Micheal’s attempt earlier in the tour, he wasn’t even tempted at Manchester

Oh almost forgot.

Did anybody else notice Neil was having problems with his hands. I overheard Andy and Mike asking if he was OK.

Hope it’s nothing serious..

From what I could see, I think he got a major splinter from one of his sticks.
The crowd were well up for it, and I remember seeing how happy the bands faces were when the crowd were singing the main riff for Teethgrinder.

It was great speaking to Sam before the gig also, as she was stuck where people couldn’t see her and walk straight past into the gig.

Fantastic, just a shame it has gone, but roll on the next one.
