Re: Aftershock in Chit-Chat

I remember one night last year when I was working in Iowa for a week, dead hard to get beer for love nor money, so we went to the Marriott Hotel to get pissed, and I remember dring Jagermeister, fuckin awful, can’t even remember what it tasted like now. Goldschlage is a good one when your out. Last Christmas in Liverpool on the works night out, one lad put sambuca in his mouth and lit it, dickhead!! yes, so was I, I decide to do it, and felt it burning and spat it out on someones jacket and that nearly caught fire as well, hence quick exit from bar!!

Re: I have won 5 cds on the radio! in Chit-Chat

I managed to win two tickets to this year’s Ozzfest at Donington on the radio earlier this year, would have liked to watch in Ireland the day after so I could see T? but what heh? they were free :)

Re: merry x-mas in Chit-Chat

I finish work today for a long Xmas holiday until the 6th Jan, yippee!!
Happy Christmas and a joyous and prosperous New Year to everyone on Teethgrinder.com, who have really given me some different views on things, and more often than not caused a sudden outburst of laughter while sat at work.

Cheers all!

Re: Licensing Bill (UK) in Chit-Chat

Shit that, I really sympathise with you. We spent a a week in Dublin, then went further down South to Dungarven, and it was lovely down there, but the pace of life compared to Dublin was unbelievable. I’d love to watch T? in Ireland, I would also love to watch Shane MacGowan in Ireland, I bet that would be something else, I watched the Pogues with Shane in Manchester last Christmas, and it was fantastic, I have never witnessed so many pissed people under one roof.
Shane seems to play the odd gig, but it always seems to be in London, as do other bands playing a DJ set!! bar-stewards, I have got a garage, come and play at mine, I’ll shift the car.

Re: Licensing Bill (UK) in Chit-Chat

Not sure what the score is here in Merseyside, but you wonder why we get flooded with so much American music.
Ireland was fantastic when I was there, jsut to have an acoustic night where anyone can join was brilliant.

Re: Licensing Bill (UK) in Chit-Chat

I think that his how I read it. Would this mean that the local pub would have to fork out for a license to have a local band play there?

Have you seen a Green Goddess yet? now could be the opportunity!!

Re: Fire fighters strike in Chit-Chat

I agree with you citizen. But haven’t they got another 8 day strike planned soon.
I don’t know how much public support they have, but everytime it is on the news, people seem to be beeping their horns in support, or could this be that they can’t be arsed shouting fuck off? I dunno!

Re: Eddie Izzard in Chit-Chat

He is really funny, but I haven’t heard about him for a while, it would have been funny to see him on Celebrity Big Brother, definate winner.
I watched Jeff Green in Manchester the other Sunday, an have got tickets to watch Peter Kay in Liverpool, but that is next March.

Re: Fire fighters strike in Chit-Chat

Don’t think I have ever called anyone a minx, don’t know why I said it to be honest. I’ll have to look it up in the dictionary after, but I do remember Minnie the Minx from the beano or something like that.

Oh you little minx!!!
That was really funny

Re: Fire fighters strike in Chit-Chat

I to think the public sector should be on the same wages, as nurses always seem to have a raw dael here in the UK.

For the firemen, our current back up is the army, and that is who is fighting the fires now. I believe a soldier risks his life a lot also, they are currently fighting fires in the UK, when we are on a high state of alert with the middle east, and they could end up going to war in a couple of weeks.

Re: Fire fighters strike in Chit-Chat

I’m glad everyone seems to agree. It was only after I sent the thread, I thought shit, I hope I haven’t touched a raw nerve with people. But I don’t think the public support the fire fighters as much as they think they do.
What pissed me off, was an interview at the weekend, with a fire fighter, who said he just wanted a decent wage to look after his family, and send his kids to school, who doesn’t mate?

Fire fighters strike in Chit-Chat

Title: Fire fighters strike

What is everyone’s thought on the fire fighters strike?

I’m not sure, I think they deserve a pay rise, but 40%?. I was thinking if the government don’t fork out, we’ll end up paying for it in council tax, so whatever pay rises we get at Christmas, if we do get any, will go straight to the fire fighters.

Re: Big Mac or BK Whopper? in Chit-Chat

What about the 2 people in New York who are suing McD’s as they say that there is nothing to tell you that Fast Food makes you fat.
Holy shit, let’s try and sue Cadbury’s as it could make your teeth fall out. Fuckin hell, wake up America!!

Re: Big Mac or BK Whopper? in Chit-Chat

I must admit, I love the Fillaaay, as they say, it’s a funckin fillit!!!
The other thing is, I must be one of the few people who actually eat them, as there are never any ready.

Re: Big Mac or BK Whopper? in Chit-Chat

Well I’ve gone for the whopper, but BK seems so much dearer than McDonalds, you go out of McDonalds feeling hungrier than you went in.
Could do with either now, even at 8.00am, starving

Re: Football clubs in Chit-Chat

Well Liverpool are out, a bit gutted, but they got what they deserved I think. I don’t really agree with going into the UEFA cup, as I think it’s a little unfair to the sides who are already in it.

Might upset a few of you, but come on Newcastle!!!
