Re: Metallica / linkin park RDS in Other Bands & Artists
Well I’d go to see Metallica and the Darkness, and (as some of my mates who are going are going to do) boo and harrass Linkin Park until they feck away off.
There was talk of throwing bottles of piss at them but we’ll see…

British Sea Power in Other Bands & Artists
Title: British Sea Power
I’ve been raving about this band for months!
they really do kick ass. Their debut album is out now in the UK. I recommend it. It really is excellent. There’s a clear Joy Division influence, and a goth influence. It’s brilliant!

Re: Any Joy Division/New Order fans here? in Other Bands & Artists
Quote (author unknown):
Can never listen to Isolation without thinking that Therapy? do it so much better :-)
Argh! Therapy? do a GREAT version but the original is so much better! Spare and relentless, and cuts right to the bone! Very few covers actually better the original (Therapy’s Diane is one) but not in this case. Ian Curtis was a lyrical genius! And he really felt those lyrics1 He ws despaoiring as he sang those words, and that really shines through.

Re: bands from your country in Other Bands & Artists
Hell, there’s a great band from Belfast called Pay*ola! We have a thriving local “scene” including bands like Invinyl, the Debonaires, Pay*ola, Dirty Stevie, Yakuza. plua we have ASH. And Ninebar International - who rose from the ashes of JOYRIDER who were really big really briefly back in 95-96.

I’ll tell you a damn fine Frank Black solo album you should own -
“Teenager Of The Year”
It is superb. A masterpiece. His new one is pretty good too.

Frank Black in Other Bands & Artists
Title: Frank Black
What do you think?
Is his solo stuff any good? Fans seem to be divided 50/50 between Pixies die hards who tihnk notihng will ever be as good, and those who tihnk his solo stuff shows an evolution and is really really good!
So whaddya think?

New crop of bands in Other Bands & Artists
Title: New crop of bands
Some suggestions:
The Libertines - reminiscent of The Jam, these guys fucking rock. They are absolutely excellent, stand out tracks on their debut album Up The Bracket being the title track, Death On The Stairs, Vertigo, I Get Along and Radio America.
British Sea Power - if you;re a Joy Division fan you HAVE to hear this band - The Lonely is their best single so far. Their debut is out early next year.

Re: Terrorvision in Other Bands & Artists
My favourite Terrorvision track of all time had to be Josephine. What a classic…it was just so cool.
“The girl by my side (by my side) was the guy I’d missed!(was the guy I’d missed!)”
