Hehe, right, I’ve been in Ireland several times… I know that “fun, drinkin party people” means no more or less than “drunk bastards” but as I’ve said, we’re not any better ;)

A lot of Irish people think we Belgians are the same kind of people as the Irish… I personally think that’s an offence to the Irish, as I have always liked the Irish more than most my countrymates (but pretend that I never said that). Belgium is famous for their beers, their chocolates, french fries, great rock bands and Rock Werchter, … (however I which some of these weren’t true)

Well, the spam I was talking about were all the freshly made threads with complaints about this (tempororely) removed thread…

It might indeed be a way to show the band you want to see them, wether is has effect or not… I doubt.

And by the way, opinion? Saying yes and repeating someone isn’t really an own opinion… if it’s because he’s from the same country and so has to have the same opinion, that’s called patriotism…

Hey ok KJC, you had your say, I hope you allow me to have mine, as there’s something I don’t agree with.
I started reading the thread again, and just as I always thought it happened, I just said my thing, and all I said got blown out of proportion. I didn’t mean to upset anyone with my post, but I clearly did… why? I don’t have a clue…
It’s just this, everyone wants to see Therapy? in his country, and everyone can find an excuse to justify it. Because they are Irish and it all started off in Ireland (duh!?), but for example Belgium and Holland (they didn’t forget us, but just to make my point clear), want to see them on a regular base as well, because they’ve always had a lot of fan support over here, and some of their records went gold here in no time… probably in some other countries as well, but I don’t know that. Those are also important things that made the band big, and gave them the chance to get out of their country. They can’t just forget about these people either. So my point was, EVERY fan wants to see them, why is Ireland so much more important than any other place?
For you because you are from Ireland. But for the band? They just want to play as much places as possible. And it’s not obvious to play your homecountry, there are a lot of bands that hardly ever play their homecountry.
Now, to get back to what I said originally (and I still stand with that!)
They did 2 supportslots over there, that doesn’t mean they don’t have to do a headliner, but the fact to me is, they were there (support or not, the Irish had the chance to see them, which a lot of you also did). While there were other countries they were not (Finland for example) and they have a fanbase over there as well…
Now, all fine, you might think I don’t, but I DO understand that you want to see them headline your country, all I want to say is, you’re not alone!

Then all of a sudden Andy got blamed, which I don’t agree with. They have a booking agent, and that isn’t Andy, they might have a say, but if no-one asks them, you can forget about it!
If you want to see them in your hometown, do as Hooch said, go talk to the venues…
I hope you see my point, and see that I didn’t mean to upset anyone…

Another thing, don’t think I’m too young to remember about their past!!!

Making Dublin realise how wonderful Therapy? is will not cost you anything, just some time, so I don’t see what the mortgage has got to do with this. But they said they’ll come, trust them… they will!

I don’t know salefigures, but I highly doubt that the albumsale in Ireland is bigger… In my experience it’s a lot more crowded at their gigs in Belgium, and most parts of Holland, that doesn’t say anything about the salefigures of course, but that shows there’s more people interested, so more opportunity to sell more albums…

A lot of bands hardly play in their homecountry, so that doesn’t make much sense either. And that was not my point, my point is, you HAD the opportunity to see them recently, headline or support act, they where there!!! It’s been ages they played in America and they’ll never come there again (probably), so to me, your complaints are not necessary.

Andy might be able to say where they want to play, but if no-one asks them they have to organise it themselves which costs a lot of time and money! But that’s probably what you expect them to do! :rolleyes:

Because they are from Belfast, they HAVE TO play Dublin? I don’t see the point… Pretty selfish as well to think Dublin has more right to see them as Japan or the US (and a lot of other places) I really think those are the only people who have the right to complain (and not to Therapy?, we know why they don’t play there anymore)

And Screamager, Nowhere and Teethgrinder are played EVERY time, so to me a pretty lame excuse to stay away. The lenght of the show compared to the price maybe, though I’m sure if some people from the US got this opportunity they’d gladly take it without complaining!

I really don’t see a reason why you’re making all this fuss. But however, I hope they’ll be touring again soon, and play as many places as possible, and not just Dublin (or Ireland)!

They ALWAYS play those hits, their set at the Olympia wasn’t more or less a hit set than any other show.
And Colin? is right, it’s not the band, they have a booking agent, if you want to see Therapy? in Dublin, contact Helter Skelter!

I want to see Therapy? in Belgium as well, the more the better, and I understand that it’s been a while since they played a headline set in Dublin, but don’t act like they haven’t been there! If you would have really wanted to see them, you wouldn’t mind it was a support slot.
Just be happy you don’t live in the US or Japan or wherever they probably NEVER play again!
