Its on the teethgrinder single Joe and its quite a good song with a sort of simple riff like ‘misery’. funny lyrics also, the chorus says ‘fuck woodstock’. Definately worth a listen but I wouldnt go outta your way to get it though.

Down tuning in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

Title: Down tuning

The last few albums have been in different tunings from the normal key and its making me
wonder when T? started using down tuning in their songs - i think it was after Infernal love?
I originally thought bands used lower tunings for the vocals so that they didnt have to sing as high? Do you think this was the case with Andy?
I know Guns n roses always played a whole step lower but i always thought this was for axl’s screechy vocals - imagine he had to sing in a higher key!

Guitar in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

Howdy there,

Just noticed the high E and B string go out of tune a hell of a lot on my axe, especially after string bending etc. Its a japanese fender stratocaster, does any of you folks know what would cause this? Does this mean its knackered? dont really mind if it is as it could give me an excuse to finally get a gibson.

I bought a bc rich guitar a few weeks back and i was blown away by the difference the humbucker pick-ups made to the distortion from my amp. My original guitar has single coils so i think i will change the bridge pick- up to a humbucker, because i find the bc rich to be too “small” for me to play comfortably but i suppose i might get used to it. And i think people see them as being very cheesy too!
The best pedal i remember hearing was a Boss “Heavy metal” my bro had some years ago, but i havent seen them for sale for years, i must try and track one down.

Thats cool you have a great drummer, i noticed lately that drummers seem hard to come by in this country?
I probably would have at least one album by most of the bands you mentioned in your post. At the minute i am listening to Ministry, alice in chains, screaming trees , sonic youth , nirvana and therapy? (as always), i have been listening to quite a bit of ska music recently as there are some cool basslines in a lot of the tunes. I like a lot of metal bands too , for the heavy riffs.
This might give you a general idea.
I have decided to try and write my own tunes aswell -how hard can it be?

Im working this out at the minute myself, excellent tune, so if it helps - The song is played tuned down half a step, and is basically just picking patterns of the chords - E minor, C, G , then play the low e string on the 2nd fret, before going back to E minor again,
There is A lot of hammer ons within the chord shapes - In the E minor the 5th string is being hammered on, in the C the 4th string on the second fret
It sounds okay just strumming the said chords, but once you get used to the chord shapes, the hammer ons that make the song will make sense if you listen to the Cd , you should get used to it.
The chorus is D and C and then back to G and then just follow the main pattern as before.
And that wee instrumental interlude near the end, is E minor , A minor and D.
Hope this makes sense, i could try to write a tab but it would take months,

Yeah that makes sense, thanks. I think i was expecting too much after seeing a metallica tribute band, i was watching the guy playing hametts parts,it just looked so easy.
I worked out the proper way to play dancin with manson today by chance while i was playing. Could anyone explain how to put tabs onto the site? Obviously id need a tab writing program ,i had one before but it never worked properly.

I’m giving the old axe a bashing now and i thought i could play well ,but i discovered i cant play - house of the rising sun - that means i need to practice big time.
What i really want to say is that to start playing good i think learning alternative picking would open many doors.
I am trying to learn some of kirk hammertts solos from - kill em all, do any of you good people have advice?( i wanna learn this shit to show my brother up)
