Re: George Fucking Bush in Chit-Chat

Title: Ronald Reagan

I must say i am not very up on politics! But i was just thinking of an old Suicidal tendencies song which Mike muir shouts ‘I shot Reagan!!’ at the start of. It sounds like this president was as controversial as Bush? Does anyone if this was the case?
I’m a big history buff!Haha

Re: Worst Movies ? in Chit-Chat

Title: Amityville horror

This was on Tv the other night and i must say - for some reason this movie really scared me when i was a kid but seeing it again after so long it looked a bit of a duffer.
I think the acting (that dick with the beard) ruined what could of been a great horror film. Remake was nothin to write home about either. Ah well I suppose the house still looked freaky!
Obviously wouldnt deserve ‘worst movie’ but wanted to share my disapointment :D.

Re: What’s everybody reading in Chit-Chat

Title: Book

Ive been reading the book ‘Stalingrad’ by antony beevor, cant believe how terrible war really is. Has anyone read it? Just thinking there about ‘the bible’, that ive never had any desire to read it… strange, probably would if there was sex involved in it though! :D

Re: I h8 my job… in Chit-Chat

Title: Work

Ive decided to try taxi driving now because the only relevant work experience ive had unfortunately is in retail work, which is shit because you wouldnt believe the amount of total cock-munchers ive had to work with before in these sort of jobs, couldnt face it again so no more of that i say!
Wish i had trained as a car mechanic or something when i left school.

Re: What’s favourite movie everyone? in Chit-Chat

Ive always thought goodfellas is the best movie.
Was watching lost highway the other night and it was good but it was one of the most strangest films ive ever seen, it has patricia arquette in the nip a lot too which is a bonus.

Re: T?-shirts at Download 2004 in Chit-Chat

Going by over here in belfast i think ‘rock’ music in general was popular during Therapy?’s Nurse/troublegum era, hence a lot of chain stores sold band T shirts, i remember buying a few cool Therapy? T shirts in virgin megastore, but now i have only seen one Therapy? shirt and that was some crap looking bootleg in a shop in bangor a few years ago. But asides that from what i see you cannot buy any Therapy? t shirts anywhere asides the merchandise section of this site and of course gigs. Is this the same everywhere? I think its a bit of a bummer, but hey they are only t shirts.

Re: This just made me jump… in Chit-Chat

Ha ha , i must say that golfing clip - its pretty scary , i am in the stage of looking behind me every once in a while now incase something is creeping up!

Re: Vampires in Chit-Chat

Great topic,
I think The Lost boys was a great film , a bit too cheesy in some parts though but it sure had all the makings of a great film. Always wanted to have the same hairdo as kiefer sutherland in the movie but i would probably look like a twat.
Some of The scariest vampire moments for me where in the movie ‘salems lot’ , where the young boy is floating outside his friends window, scratching at it and saying ‘let me in’ sure was creepy and the head vampire was that thing with the blue skin, nearly shit myself when i saw it. But the rest of the film wasn’t great.
Maybe the best vampire movie is Interview with a Vampire but it does drag on a bit? It is a tough decision.
Thats my rambling over for one day:)

Re: Irish referances (off topic split thread) in Chit-Chat

When i think of the word ‘british’ it makes me think of England football supporters singing rule brittania.
I suppose nationality is all down to passports.
This country is indeed a strange case in terms of identity. i am in no way bigoted towards either side of the ‘divide’ here but i do see ‘down south’ (as i call it) as a different country basically because i have rarely been there and there is a different currency, the people have different accents, a different flag and when i have been there i have felt like tourist as i would in spain or something. Maybe i should head southwards more often.
As i said it is a strange state of affairs. I think they should make northern ireland an american state, maybe that would put an end to the shenanagins. But i suppose george bush would be my president then.
I dunno, maybe i should try to emigrate to australia and buy a ranch?

Re: ???drugs??? in Chit-Chat

I don’t get how drink effects certain people- my friend goes out and downs bottles of WKD and drinks cocktails and gets up the next morning and plays 18 holes of golf and drinks more. Whereas i feel i have just been struck down by some mad disease or something. I have just started drinking beer now and cider when i get sick of beer. Just doesn’t make any goddam sense. Does anyone else feel this bad after drinking? Maybe i need to find a drink that is “for me” or something?
But fuck it - bring on the buckfast!

Re: ???drugs??? in Chit-Chat

Title: Drugs are bad, ummmkayy?

I must admit i was always a bit yellow-bellied when i was offered drugs, probably a good thing. I love the movie “fear and loathing in las vegas”, makes drugs look cool and fun, but as they say - its only a movie.
I dunno maybe one day my curiousity will get the better of me.

Re: Perfect politics in Chit-Chat

like the sound of that 24hr sunshine, you could wear your sunglasses at night then, but what would happen to the vampires?
I think i would change the times at which alchohol can be served to. Everywhere closes at 1am here and even earlier on a sunday, but i suppose i might fall prey to this obesity problem then with all the extra drinking, they do say beer is high in calories?

Re: funeral songs in Chit-Chat

I think “A boy named sue” by johnny cash would be a good farewell for my friends and i suppose i will have to throw in a weepy song for the wife or whoever so i suppose “Don’t fear the reaper” by the blue oyster cult would be good (incase she decided to play “my heart will go on” by celine Dion or something as a dedication, imagine the shame!)

Re: People who should die in Chit-Chat

Title: Execution

Fair point 3ddO-on-the-balcony i suppose such a remark makes me sound like some genocidal maniac, i don’t really hold any hate for anyone, i think i got riled up by the things mentioned because the remarks where being made to my sister and it made me think maybe it would be a “manly” thing for me to confront them about it.So maybe my contempt came from my own frustration at myself failing to protect a family member as some people might do.

Re: People who should die in Chit-Chat

Title: Subhuman scum

One set of people who annoy me are those little rats who hang around town centres causing trouble, there labelled “spides” here in Ireland (well belfast anyway). i remember a few times walking through the city centre with my sister, who dresses all in black etc and these twats openly made abusive comments towards her, saying crap like its not halloween yet love hahaha!, freak! etc. but worst of all they called her a Hippy- i’m not one for dressing a certain way myself , and i understand how some people might see her fashion as a bit rare - but it is no excuse it just shows these twats have no manners whatsoever. And how could you critisise someones dress sense when you are standing with a silver tracksuit on and a baseball cap- and thats just the girls! Oh and the giant gold earrings of course.
So in my view they deserve to die.

Re: Films again! in Chit-Chat

Title: Event Horizon

I remember watching this in the house on my own and there is a scene which shows the flight recorder of what happened to the crew on the ships first outing, i had to turn the TV off!
I saw a weird horror movie called The Sentinel recently, about a model who’s apartment block is a gateway to hell and she is set to be the next guardian of the gateway. It had some really funny and freaky scenes and the old trainer guy out of “Rocky” plays the devil, anyone saw it?

Re: Films again! in Chit-Chat

Title: The wicker man

This movie involves a sort of crucifixion which is quite disturbing, great movie.
I think films like passion of christ show what little power religion must have these days, could you imagine releasing such a thing a few hundred years ago (obviously it would have been impossiblw anyway), you would have been straight to the guillotine.
I’m not one for censorship but i think, with christ being an icon which so many people base their whole lives around it is foolish to make a gory vision of his demise and perhaps such movies shouldn’t be allowed to be released.
I do not see sid viscous as an icon or anything but i didnt like the film sid and nancy because it generally made sid viscous like a total knob, which he could well have been but, does it give a director who’s set to reap huge profits the right to depict him as one to millions of people, just because he isn’t around to say otherwise?
I think the film Titanic wasn’t right either as making a movie out of a real disaster and dressing it up as a silly love story is a bit low to me, would a film about an office romance during the twin towers incidents go down well?

Re: Who d’yah do? in Chit-Chat

I always fancied getting it on with Scully from the X files , sort of natural beauty thing happening there, i can just picture myself giving her a massage.
I think that older woman in sex in the city was about the best, the rest of them where about as attractive as the cast from prisoner cell block H - and why did that main chick seem to go out with cheesy old men all the time? the big fool!

I thought i had heard it all in Chit-Chat

Title: I thought i had heard it all

I was just browsing a local paper this evening and noticed an article regarding a local nite-club - they are holding a “Sex in the city farewell night”, tonight. Which includes a manicure service, highlights of the show being played and prizes for people dressed like the ladies from the show.
Is this a bit rare or is it just me?
I bet you folk are as sorry as me for missing it!
I think i will stage an Alan partridge night seeing as there must be a market for such things.

Re: music pirates in Chit-Chat

Title: CD’s

This may sound like a silly question , but someone told me that it is possible to tell if a Real cd has been recorded off, My video club rents cd ‘s and i have started to record them with my new cdr, but i am thinking could the shop tell? I think its a load of balls myself but i want to be sure cause the guy that owns the shop once threatened a friend of mine for not returning a playstaion game - he said he would “get the boys on him”, that would strike fear into any mans heart!

Re: When there is no more room in Hell… in Chit-Chat

Title: Creepshow

This is another cracker which George romero directed , it has about five short stories. The best of these has leslie nielson burying his wife and some guy she is cheating on him with on a beach with just their heads sticking out of the sand for the tide to come in and drown them - then they come back to get him! hilarious stuff, you should check it out.
