Re: The worst CD you got in Chit-Chat
I got the soundtrack for the movie the lost boys and some of the songs on this are so cheesy theyre hilarious , particularly one called “i still believe” which in the movie is being sung by some big muscular guy with a saxophone on a chain - you should check it out if you want a laugh.

Re: Alice In Chains in Other Bands & Artists
i saw a top five grunge chart on mtv2 , there was some amazing songs particularly rusty cage by soundgarden - but of course in bloom by nirvana had to be at number which i think doesnt make sense , i think if all the hype was stripped away from that nevermind albumn it isnt that impressive i see the songs of bleach and incesticide as being more exciting. I was just listening to alice in chains’ dirt this morning and there is some powerful songs but the band must have been a right pack of miserabelles, “its gonna rain when i die” must take the most miserable lyrics award, i suppose it would sound good but if you where in that kind of mood though.

Re: “Metal band” ??? in General Therapy? Topics
I think these descriptive words for musical styles have been taken to ridiculous extemes these days - the worst one ive heard was someone calling himself a “gunk”, he said it was because he dressed as a punk and a goth mixed, hilarious. i have an interview with therapy and andy talks about the music press inventing all these collective terms and he said that T? are just a rock band , which makes sense.

Northern Ireland in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
Title: Northern Ireland
I was just wondering on the off chance if there was any other “musicians” in this joint that are looking for a band or something, i can play the bass and guitar quite well and have learn’t a lot of T? songs over the years.

Re: Bands that get gradually worse in Other Bands & Artists
Title: Iron maiden
I wouldnt call myself a “fan” , but their first 3 albums amongst my favourite albums (must have been the leather and studs) but looking at the albums that proceeded i think they made a decline in listenability- (if there is such a word). I wouldnt say they where shite or anything just not as exciting as their latter.
As for metallica i love their 4 albums as i learned the songs on the guitar and their is some amazing riffs, but again another example of a decline in their excitement factor, well for me anyway.

Re: Just 1 song that sums up therapy for you in General Therapy? Topics
if it was “think of the first therapy song that comes into your head” I would probably think of meat abstract or screamager.. For me therapy have too many kick ass songs to choose from. I suppose screamager would be best to sum up the band to someone who hadn’t heard them.

Therapy? in General Therapy? Topics
Title: Therapy?
I got into the band after hearing pleasure death by chance when my brother got the cassette of a friend who was a really into the band (this was in 1992). i must say the songs blew me away, mainly due to fyfes distorded vocals on skinning pit, the pre song dialogue on fantasy bag and the overall feeling of the LP. Also the cover art of the albumn was unlike anything i had heard of to this time, (i was mainly into Nirvana) to this day i regard babyteeth as their most powerful work with obviously pleasure death being just as an experience. I think my love for the band stemmed from the songs sounding unlike anything else i’d heard at the time and having T? having coolest T Shirts i had ever seen (every time my brother saw the band at the Feile festival in tipperary, he brought me home a tshirt, my favourite was a T? shirt that said “Leave me alone “. I think the point of this post is to say that i am confused at how most of the fans regard troublegum as the “best albumn” to be honest the only song i am really into on the albumn is lunacy booth.
To round this post of i would like to state my favourite T? albumns (and i know this has been done hundreds of times before) in order of which i listen to most often :
Babyteeth -
Pleasurer death - (Caucasian pschosis)- best song skinning pit & obviously innocent x)
Nurse - best song (honestly im that drunk i cant remember the name but it says… if i kill myself i’ll stop thinking.. , at the end
Shameless -best song endless pschology
Infernal Love - best song- same problem - the last one on the albumn … there’s one thing that i should remember…
Trouble Gum - best song lunacy booth
Suicide Pact - best song six mile water
Semi detached - Dont really listen to this albumn but black eye purple sky is a great song.
And i havent bought high anxiety because i am STILL blown away by listening to caucasian pschosis and dont feel the need.
Does this make me less of a T? fan?

Punk?? in Other Bands & Artists
Title: Punk??
More of a social comment on the apparent tastes of these young folk i see in my shop which have the modern “punk” uniform on - mowhawk, rancid t shirt ,combat trousers and many holed dm boots and of course the leather jacket with “the exploited” motifs tippexed on them.
The thing that baffles me is the fact that these bands are only deemed as punk because they sing in a tough cockney accent - even though they arent from london. And when i asked these people if they liked Therapy?- (whos musical and lyrical qualitys piss on these bands) , they answered “is that therapy? - the dirty grunge band?”
WHAT?
Obviosly T? are not a punk band but i just cant understand the lack of taste people in this country have - just for trend following.

In the unlikely event this will happen, i shall insist that Innocent X be played as the “first dance” , or whatever the custom is, so that my sister and myself can go apeshit on the disco floor. Also it has that techno feel to it for the more mainstream guests. And perhaps six mile water as a sentiment to my friends.

i am questioning myself if this T shirt was real or not,
One of my brothers friends wore a T shirt with the fantasy bag , your friend.. your teacher etc on the backprint and the front had a red face off “the silence of the lambs” video box… but as this was feckin years ago i am worrying that it isnt true , just like that ghost i saw when i was ten?

Title: Little drummer boy
I would like to say that the “favourite drummer” obviously refects on what albumn/era of T? you favour, for me my fav albumns are babytheeth and pleasure death followed by infernal love , but on all albums the drums have been excellent to the sound/style that the band have created:
I seen a vid of graham playing in his early days of joining T? and he kicks ass.
You heard the man Tubbs … get undressed

Title: What a day
For a few years ive had to consider this eventuality and i have thought of Fade To Black by Metallica but there must be a T? song, so i suppose either meat abstract or skyward are my preference or maybe skinning pit because thats the first T? song i was mesmerised by, im sure the relatives or what ever wouldnt understand but its my day.But definately fade to black. I suppose Diane would suite given the orchestral movements or perhaps: mountains of mourne , which is a beautiful song which i have always liked.

Title: most sentimental T? song
I always wanted to compare what T? songs give a lot of emotional “vibe” to the fans - for myself i have to say Prison Breaker and A Moment of Clarity. I listened to Prison breaker over and over to pick up the lyrics and would say this is my favourite T? song

This must have been when teethgrinder came out on single. It was either brookside or coronation street, (i dont watch such nonsense regularly) because i remember this person had a strong northern accent but anyway- the scene was some guy sitting on a staircase looking stressed and they had the interlude of teethgrinder …loosing his mind he feels it going playing , and he commented on it , something like - i know how that feels; or some bollox.

I asked this question a while ago in the “other bands” message board and someone said it was backyard babies t shirt , love one of these myself. I remember some of the cool T? t shirts many years ago, one that i have searched high and low for had the fantasy bag - your friend , your teacher etc on the backprint but thank god i kept my wake up…time to die long sleeve (a treasured posession).

led zeppelin in Other Bands & Artists
Title: led zeppelin
As an example - often been curious what way other T? fans would view a band like this, with therapy? obviously being miles apart in musical style, era, influences etc -would people who favour “alternative” music have such diverse tastes in the bands that they listen to, that they could like Therapy? and led zeppelin. Or are they viewed as old hippies by the average T? fan, who i would believe to be more punk orientated.
(This was inspired by reading that one of The Clash once said that even looking at a led zep albulm cover made him sick).
