Re: Therapy? live in Hardenberg on Oct. 18th in Therapy? Live

“Een van de beste Ierse Altenative Rockbands komt naar Hardenberg en wel op zaterdag 25 in plaats van zaterdag 18 oktober! Zaterdag 25 oktober is inmiddels door de band bevestigd. Gekochte kaarten voor 18-10 blijven gewoon geldig.”

from the podium hardenberg-site (http://podium.syco.nl/ne/index.htm) gig was moved to the 25th!

so you know.

Title: :)

Hi Mike,

It’s defenately good to hear from the man himself, as I was always told not to asume anything (even when diggin’ the joke), at least now we know for sure.

As for the Amsterdam-bored-appearance bit, maybe that was in the midst of being grabbed in the privat parts by another WOM- member ;)

Have fun with the stones and give Wilmaaaaa a kiss from us

Re: What could be more boring..? in Therapy? Live

I think you mean sensitive…? ;)

And I don’t think that’s the case, he mentions something very specific, it’s hardly a casual remark. If he says that he’s looking forward to playing for a crowd that doesn’t know Therapy? well or at all, that’s fine, geez. You just don’t call you regulars boring, or what…

As I said, it probably just came out a bit rough, but now he knows how we feel about being called boring converted ones…

Re: What could be more boring..? in Therapy? Live

Title: he probably didn’t mean it that way, but…

I had the same reaction, to that message…
That one remark does make me wonder, taking his slightly bored behaviour at the Amsterdam gig in consideration…

And if preaching to the converted is boring, maybe one shouldn’t be a preacher?

Personally I’ve never judged anything Therapy? did or didn’t do, yeah, questioned it maybe with an open state of mind. But if critisism gets the best of you, maybe you should knock before frustration kicks in. (and ‘hurts’ the touchy ones)

The thing that keeps me going to Therapy? gigs is the positive and open attitude of the band, and reading Andy’s diary of the Amsterdam gig makes me glad that I was there. But if that where to change, I’d have no business visiting frustrated old rocking farts anymore…

da -touchy- preacher…

Michaels message in General Therapy? Topics

Title: Michaels message

Quote (author unknown):

Some people have expressed ‘concern’ about us playing this kind of show. To be honest as Therapy? are a rock and roll band and The Rolling Stones pretty much helped invent the genre, it makes perfect sense to us. Therapy? are non-exclusive with their audience and we relish the challenge of playing in front of an audience who might never have heard us before. After all what could be more boring than preaching to the converted. We love the Stones… Fred and Barney, that is…

See you all later, Michael TPY? 2003

…are we starting to bore Mr. McKeegan? I hope not…

Re: Album Chart in General Therapy? Topics

…somehow I also think that HA has a big potential to succes in the states! And if radiostations would dedicate some more air-time I think it will be -somewhat- succesfull, also here in europe ofcourse, it’s a very open album for new fans I think.

Let’s just hope so, for the last 10 years, I’ve been seeing the same faces in the same places, that’s cute, but it would be nice to also see younger fresh faces indeed…

??? I have to disagree with that! I think they are (or at least look) happier now than they did around the Troublegum/Infernal Love period!

I’m not sure, why would Andy urge us all to help pluggin’ for airtime for the single?
I think they defenately need that, maybe not so much for albumsales, even more to reach a broader crowd. Coz, I don’t know if you have noticed, but the crowd at the gigs is getting older, as we all are.

And the thought of us; a status quo / old farts trying to rock… Even though the fanbase are getting to be old friends, loyal as hec, nah… wouldn’t insipre me much to keep touring till I was 50 :)

However I must say that as far as I can tell, Andy always lights up when a familiar crowd is boosting with energy and having obvious fun, so maybe they will tour untill they’re 50… 60 or 80something…

Re: Amsterdam gig in Therapy? Live

Was it me, or was Michael having a bad day alltogether? He didn’t quite seem into it, not the usual spunk he normaly oozes with…

btw. I realy liked Janez Detd… always fun to see an eager band, thats proud to be on that stage and totally lifts off when receiving a genuine applause…

Re: Amsterdam gig in Therapy? Live

There was this journalist in “Oor” once who said that going to a Therapy? concert always gives you a high that’ll last for a week. That is so true, every time!

It’s actually so cute to see Andy totally wired with adrenaline that he’s just a big “blij-hoofd” in stead of Mr Coolness ;)

Apart from the two teeny-boppers behind me, a had a fantastic time, as always!!

well I started a thread about HA lyrics the other week

 Oops, I didn’t see it.

Sometimes the lyrics seem like Quick & Dirty B-Sides, but on other moments they’re okay, but not impressive… not yet anyway…

At one point it almost felt like it wasn’t a Therapy? album or maybe like we went back into time and this was the successor to Troublegum.

The albums following Troublegum are a significant contribution to the sound of the band and sometimes it feels like that is gone or hard to find…

The music is great and I think the singing is better than the last 2 albums. I’m not sure, it’s just that Therapy? signature that I seem to miss here…

Title: [HA] Love it, but…

I’ve been listening to HA for about two weeks now and I realy love it. But there’s something missing… I love the music, totally do.

But the lyrics… I miss that typicall creative, almost poetic, use of words. Or is it just me? I’m afraid that I’m gonna have enough of this album sooner than it deserves :(

Re: Hello from THERAPY? in General Therapy? Topics

LMOA, count me in, I’ll phone in all day to the box if I have to, call in sick from work and let’s make it a marathon.

would be a nice change from the lousy shit that’s on most of the time

btw. A typical T? thing to keep us posted, don’t you guys think so?
Tough guys that are really nice guys :D

…however, they DO make us wait for it… but it’s probebly worth it… again

Re: 19/04: T? In Belgium in Therapy? Live

Why do they do that?
I’ve once made a complete ass outta myself trying to win tickets for a T? concert, the same terms. Eventually taking my angelface with me, got me into the concert, but that was after my reputation was ruined! ;)

Re: Where should “High Anxiety” Tour 2003 stop… in Therapy? Live

Must agree with Ronald (hey vent! mijn inlog snx werkt niet meer, but hey it’s me!)

But if it has to stop: Tilburg 013 or Melkweg oude zaal, coz it has such wonderfull memories of the last time T? was there.
