Re: Jurassic Rock, Mikkeli, Finland in Therapy? Live
My own inactivity is the only thing to blame on this one. After discovering that not even my favourite ilosaari had interesing bands, I must have ignored all the festivals altogether, which was a mistake.

Re: Jurassic Rock, Mikkeli, Finland in Therapy? Live
Can you guys guess who didn’t notice this gig until now? Only 1,5 hours ride from home and I miss the whole event. Maybe I should follow WOM a bit more.

Re: crooked timber - the single! in General Therapy? Topics
Just wondering how I’ve missed this until today. Just spotted it on spotify and was pleasantly surprised about the b-sides. I guess it’s time to order from global, if none of you Finns have extra copy already laying around. :)

Re: Who has “Crooked Timber”? in General Therapy? Topics
CD arrived from Global Music to Me too, it’s nice of them to post CD now and vinyl when it’s released.

Any Spotify users here? in Chit-Chat
Couldn’t find any discussion about Spotify - http://www.spotify.com so here goes.
It’s a music streaming service with growing collection of songs, offering three kinds of accounts (free with spoken ads here and then; one-day pass of 0,99 euros or monthly pass 9,99 euros). Free account requires an invite from a premium account holder (I’m not sure how the invites are granted). There are some sites floating around in web which offer invites every now and then. I’m not sure about the countries in which it is currently available, but I guess those are listed somewhere on the web page.
Spotify is used with its own client application, including quite intuitive user interface and fast response. Finding the artists, starting the playback, seeking inside a song all are happening very quickly and smoothly. Streaming audio is ogg vorbis, with ~160 kbps average bitrate, or so I’ve read somewhere.
I have been using it for a month or so and I find it very promising. In my opinion might well become the next hit music service in the web. Currently I’m stil using the ad-driven account, but I plan to start buying the monthly subscriptions. I’m not using this at home so much, but at work I have lately been listening it quite a bit. I suggest that if you’re living in a country where it’s available to try it.
From Therapy?, there are Nurse, Troublegum, Infernal Love, High Anxiety, One Cure Fits All currently avaliable for listen. For each artist/band, there is a biography from all music guide or similar included and an “Artist radio” with links to similar artists.

Re: New album “Crooked Timber” 23 March 2009 in General Therapy? Topics
I put also both versions on order from Global music, both shipped to Finland for something like 27 euros. Only drawback is the later release date of the vinyl, but I guess I can wait for it.

I know, that this kind of messages are quite stupid, but I write anyway, that HMV has shipped mine.

Re: BBC Sessions - music through a cheap transistor in General Therapy? Topics
Thanks for the HMV tip, £2 seems to be the shipping to Finland, total £10.99. Cheap enough not to wait for it to appear on play.com.

Re: line 6 Pod xxt patches in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
Bringing an old thread up, but I just got my PodXT live, and I was wondering if anyone has crafted T? sounds and wants to provide a newbie with a .l6t file or two? :)

Re: Exclusive Therapy? webgig now available in General Therapy? Topics
After listening the gig a few times, I can say that this is the best 22 euros spent in a long time.
I can’t yet (never?) say the favourite, but Dancin’ with Manson and Suing God are definitely among them - may be the “not heard so often” factor.

Re: Scopophobia (DVD & CD Collector’s Edition) in General Therapy? Topics
I took a couple of pictures of the new DVD+CD set if anyone’s interested. Looks pretty much like the DVD version with minor changes. Booklet (as well as Eagle-vision DVD ad) was included.

Play has sent mine yesterday.
Originally I planned to keep both releases but ended up selling the first edition.

Re: Scopophobia (DVD & CD Collector’s Edition) in General Therapy? Topics
Perfectly normal behaviour :) But still I think I’ll wait for the confirmation of the CD content before putting my pre-order in.

Re: preorder in General Therapy? Topics
http://www.cdon.com has listed both versions for pre-order (same price 17.95), they have also listed additional tracks on the limited edition to be
14: Teethgrinder (video)
15: Who Knows (video)
like said earlier in this thread already. I just posted if someone in the Nordic countries is looking for it (well, actually it seems that they ship to the rest of the EU also, but postage is a bit higher, 3.95 euros per order).

Any idea if the “limited edition” (mentioned in pre-order thread) is going to be released here, too?

Re: 11.07.2004, Ruisrock-Festival, Turku, Finland in Therapy? Live
Guess who heard about this thing just today and is now desperately trying to adjust his timetables for the weekend? I am.
I didn’t check Ruisrock site even once (not my favorite festival) and for some reason I noticed neither this thread nor the upcoming tours page at all.
After missing them at Nummirock a few years ago I promised myself I’d never miss their show in Finland again. Now it’s time to see can I keep this promise. :-/

Re: Comin’ to Helsinki this year? in Therapy? Live
I haven’t been to as many gigs as Marko (5), but I definitely agree with him about this one being the best one of them all.
When I got there, all the t-shirts of my size were gone, only small ones left - so no shirt for me. :( Luckily there were these small items, too. And I got the set list from the mixing board.
Dancin’ with Manson was my favorite, with If it kills me and Stop it a few steps behind.
I didn’t make it to the first train in the morning, so I missed a few hours of today’s workday - but that’s a small price to pay :) To be honest I still can’t clearly work at the moment, the gig “echoing” in my mind.

Re: Comin’ to Helsinki this year? in Therapy? Live
Last minute update :)
My timetable got a bit messed up, and I had to skip the meet at Ilves. Well, last drink at my brother’s apartment (Scopophobia encores playing) - and soon heading to Tavastia.

Let’s hope so - my Infernal Love long sleeved shirt is “beginning” to wear out already.
Last time at Tavastia I got asked if all my clothes are 7 years old. :)

Re: Amsterdam: Paradiso gig in Therapy? Live
I ended up listening (and watching) the lousiest stream, because the second one sounded terrible (audio codec problems perhaps?) and skipped all the time.
Well can’t say much more about the smallest stream (One simply cannot squeesh much stuff in 44 kbit/s), but at least it doesn’t skip all the time.

Re: Scopophobia in Finland in General Therapy? Topics
Ah, good news that it’ll be available here also. I’ve placed an order at play.com, but if it seems that I’d get it sooner from local shop then I’ll have to reconsider.
and BTW, I was surprised to see that a local (Lappeenranta) newspaper had a small news article about the gig.

Re: Comin’ to Helsinki this year? in Therapy? Live
You can add me to the list of desperate Finns who are wondering about possible choices to see T? live this year.
I’ve been reloading the tour page like hell (well, at least daily) in the last few days to check if there’re Finnish dates added to the list.
Yes, it’s a long trip to Gothenburg, and why not go all the way to Germany for the five gigs - at least cost per gig might be lower :)

Re: article in Suezine in General Therapy? Topics
And HA was reviewed in the same issue, got 8 (/10?) - the reviewer seemed to consider it as a positive surprise.
Article was quite good, although it has a “small” mistake - Michael was told to be the guitarist of the band. ;)

I can’t help it but IMO My Voodoo Doll has the text “the next single” written all over it :)

Re: If It Kills Me - Video in General Therapy? Topics
Wow. However I cannot watch it - too old realplayer or something(?). Anyway, I have the single.
BTW, I asked the local salesman about the single release in Finland, and he didn’t know anything about it.

Did you have any luck finding it, Merten?
I bought it today (Saturday), but according to the shopkeeper, he had it already yesterday.
