Nice one Alan…

FINALLY!!

Found the date (and review) of Therapy?’s first ever gig!

August 20, 1989 - Art College, Belfast
“Decadence Within/Therapy (they only changed their name to Therapy? when they fucked up the graphic design on their single and had to fill some space)/Strontium Dog/Pink Turds In Space - pretty good overall, DW sucked in my opinion, Pink Turds had obviously been listening to a lot of Metallica, Strontium Dog were Strontium Dog… Therapy … Andy Cairns with a scally haircut, flared jeans and a brian the snail teeshirt… i can remember dancing to them in my awkward 17 year old way… weird gig DW went on first, so that people from outside belfast could see the main band and not miss the last train home.”

The one with Ricky Warwick was 1995. I don’t recall Andy breaking a string though - maybe you’re thinking of when they played “Another girl, another planet” with Pete Perrett in ‘94?

Alan you are correct about this, I listened to this show today strangely enough and Andy does mention about breaking a string during the song.
Shepherds Bush Empire, London - UK(27/11/1994)
Another Girl Another Planet (with Peter Perrett of “The Only Ones”)
