Re: Novarock 07 in Therapy? Live

Jesus, I so wish I had noticed the band standing in the club after the gig. I so wanted to meet them, GODAMMIT!!! And I wanted to go to Graz today, but I can’t since I’ve just broke a tooth and am in horrible pain, waiting for some dentist to start his night shift.
FFFUUUUUCCCCKKKK!!!
Anyway, the memory of Tuesday still makes me kinda happy :)

Title: JESUS CHRIST! THERAPY? ARE ON FIRE!
How great was that gig yesterday?!? It was the best fucking Therapy? show I’ve seen since the SPYF-Tour! And the setlist was a A DREAM COME TRUE! Even the decision not to play “Teethgrinder” was brilliant. They also did a little “Breaking The Law” during “Diane”, which brought a tear to my eye. The beginning was great too with Neil interrupting the Scorpions’ “Wind Of Change”.
At first I didn’t know why T? are even touring without a new studio album to promote but in hindsight this gig worked much better than the last one in Vienna for OCFA. People knew the newer songs now and could sing along whereas the atmosphere is usually a bit stiff during new songs that came out about a month ago or so.
I haven’t seen Andy in such a good mood for quite some time. This was a great show. AN AMAZING SHOW.
The only thing I regret is that I didn’t catch a drumstick and I didn’t get a chance to talk to the band again. Just when I walked out I realized Michael and Neil standing close to the exit (where was Andy?) and someone who was with me started the following dialog.
GUY: Why didn’t you play “Femtex”?
MICHAEL: Did you want to hear it?
GUY: Yeah, because masturbation saved my life.
MICHAEL: Mine too.
Brilliant.

yeah it was one of their best gigs on forestglade, short before SD came out! there were still not the real lyrics on “Tightrope Walker” and they played the chorus even without lyrics. Great set with skyward and innocent X in it. in that time T? was headlining the forestglade festival and they played after placebo. Imagine that today :)
Andy destroying his guitar at the end of the set. I think this was a really special gig.
But Forestglade 95 was great too. They had a own bar on stage where michael did drink two tequilas after every song. Was evil to watch :)
Sometimes i miss these times …
Oh man, I wish I could have been there.

Re: Flex, Vienna, May 22nd in Therapy? Live
Yeah, I couldn’t agree more about the Flex.
The song Andy was crowd surfing to was “The Boy’s Asleep”, I think. That moment was perfect. It’s so sad that they don’t play S-D stuff anymore.

Re: Flex, Vienna, May 22nd in Therapy? Live
yeah, but it’s been that way in Austria ever since the SPYF tour. The Planet Music gigs sucked, but not because the band was bad, but because the audience wasn’t actually familiar with the new stuff anymore. I mean, I love “Die Laughing”, “Nowhere” and “Femtex” (good surprise, that one) just as much as the next guy, but can’t we just embrace those great new songs, too?

It was nice to meet some other WoMbles and the t? boys as well at the bar just to have some beer together.
I saw Andy & Michael standing at the bar, walked up to them and asked them if I could pay a round. Unfortunately, I completely forgot how to speak English all of a sudden and made a complete ass out of myself just standing there blabbering things like: “you guys are fantastic! great show!” God, that was awkward. Anyway, Andy was a totally sweet guy, shook my hand twice and thanked me for the kind words. God bless him. And the Evil Priest. And the Coop.

I think they picked exactly the right songs from OCFA, but dammit play some Semi-Detached and SPYF and drop some Troublegum! Please?

Re: Flex, Vienna, May 22nd in Therapy? Live
I don’t think tickets should be a problem but it can never do harm to buy it in advance. ;)
If you don’t now the venue and the parking situation around it it’s definitely more recommendable to go there by underground (U4 - Schottenring). It can be a bit confusing how to get to the Flex. There’s only one way down and to get there you have to cross some dangerous streets, so get ready for some stress.
The venue is small but a bit shitty to be honest. I still like it better than Planet Music where T? played twice in the past.

Don’t know if it’s official, yet, as I see no mention of it in the tour section, but over at http://www.musicnet.at, it says that T? will play the Flex in May. YESSSS!!!!

Cool, I have that gig on video. Which person are you? I hope you’re not the one who had “some problems” with Michael that night!?
You do? Great! I’m the guy who embraces Andy, who looks quite confused by that. I also bawl the refrain to “Nowhere” into the mic at some point. And during the end of the show when the microphon got handed to the audience, I’m on stage and a friend of mine who is in the audience grabs the mic and yells my name.
Hm, that was one great show!

Re: vienna gig 17th november - FLEX in Therapy? Live
Oh boy! Sounds and looks (http://www.flex.at/gallery/20041117) like an amazing evening. And I couldn’t fucking be there because I was in Berlin at the Tom Waits show (which was great, too).
Seems like the Flex was a great location for Therapy?. Dammit, I would have loved to see them there, especially since the last two gigs at Planet Music were a bit of a let-down. Arrrrrghh!
Did they sell any interesting CDs at the concert, by the way (Maxis, limited editions, etc.)?

Hey Vagabond… you don’t have anything to do with a Viennese band of the same name, by any chance, do you?

Title: Would anyone care if they wouldn’t play “Nowhere” this time?
Or “Knives” or “Screamager” or “Diane”?
I mean I love those songs like everyone else here, but they’re really trite by now and T? themselves seem to be sick of them, too.
So why not skip them and play some other brilliant songs that are often overlooked (“Lonely, Cryin’, Only”, “Femtex”, “Sister”, “Straight Life”, “Heaven’s Gate” etc., etc.)

Title: Therapy? + The Wildhearts - a dream come true (merged thread)
A few years back I would have killed to see this line-up. Unfortunately this isn’t going to happen in Austria where I live. Can someone please tell Ginger that there are people outside of the U.K. and Japan (and Turkey for that matter) who want to see The ‘Hearts live?

Re: Vienna gig in Therapy? Live
They played “I Am The Money”!!!
So how did you all like it?
To be honest, it was my least favourite Therapy? gig so far. On one hand it’s the bands fault because they played way too much new stuff IMO, on the other hand the venue was too big and there were just too few people.
Anyway, good gig and much respect for Therapy? because they still play old standards like “Screamager” and “Knives” with so much drive and love for what they are doing.
Setlist (as far as I can remember)
Hey Satan - You Rock
Who Knows
Going Nowhere
Nobody Here But Us
(not too sure from here)
Not In Any Name
Church Of Noise
I Am The Money
Die Laughing
Voodoo Doll
Stories
Ten Year Plan
Trigger Inside
I Wanna Be Your Dog
Potato Junkie
Encore
Diane
Rust
Stand In Line
Master Of Puppets/Knives
Screamager
