The [smog] song that’s in the movie is “Vessel In Vain”. It’s right at the beginning of the movie.

I especially like the soundtrack: I got to know Smog, M_Ward and Adem through the movie. Beautiful music!

Remember that diary entry by Andy in which he mentioned Brett Anderson and the Elastica singer? in Chit-Chat
Andy wrote something about how he met them at an awards show and that they were only friendly if you had the drugs. Of course, Andy didn’t refer to them by name, but he described them well enough that some WOMbles could figure out who he meant.
Well, anyway, I’m just reading “Kill Your Friends” by John Niven now, which is set in the mid-90’s (which is ace by the way!) and there’s a scene in which the main character walks into a toilet to sniff some cocaine and out come Brett Anderson and the singer of Elastica, who have apparantly just sniffed cocaine themselves.
Now, either those two were an infamous drug couple in those days or Niven (who is friends with James Dean Bradfield who is friends with Andy) based that incident on Andy’s experience.
Do you think that could be possible?

Ridley (although I’m not a huge fan of either)
Super Furry Animals or Manic Street Preachers?

I remember from my childhood seeing this guy on finnish TV with his spoons and doing “spaghetti” out of them. Anyone else remember this fellow:)?
The same guy has a popular TV show on German television right now, which is called: “Looking for the next Uri Gellar”. These are bullshit times.

Incredible Fakes/Hoaxes in Chit-Chat
A friend of mine and me we have this little regional radio show. We always make Top 10 lists for our show and next week, we’d like to present some of the biggest fakes in history ever (and by that I don’t mean bands who have sold out or something like that, but cases of people making the world believe in lies).
Unfortunately, I cannot think of 10, so I came here to see if you people had some incredible stories to tell. Here’s what I’ve got so far:
Clifford Irving: the guy supposedly wrote the authorized biography of Howard Hughes in the early 70’s, but it was all just made up (as shown in the movie “The Hoax).
Stephen Glass: fabricated stories and interviews for “The New Republic” (as depicted in the movie “Shattered Glass”)
Tom Kummer did much the same with celebrity interviews in Germany (as he tells himself in his book “Blow Up”).
The case of Erika Schinegger: an Austrian female skier who easily won the worldcup and other ski races and was later found out to be a man. (not so much a case of “fake”, though. More of a revelation to himself)
Milli Vanilli: well, everybody knows the story.

Anybody seen the movie “Primer”? in Chit-Chat
I’ve seen it and I didn’t get so much of it that I feel really stupid.
Now, I’m certain that most people don’t get half of this movie, but would never admit it, because they want to be part of the clever in-crowd (and I’m sure the writer/director of the film intended people to react just like that).
So, has anybody seen it? Opinions?

Let me guess, all these “optical illusions” just make you stare at the pictures hard enough that a freakish picture can pop up all of a sudden and make you shit your pants.

Re: The Mighty Boosh in Chit-Chat
having just finished watching the whole series I have to say that I don’t think it was that weak. Sure, the first two were better, but I still enjoyed the most parts of series 3, particularly episode 6, which everyone else seems to hate.
anyway, what I really missed in this series are the great songs Julian has come up with in series 1 & 2.

A blonde is stopped by the police. The officer walks up to her window and asks for her driving license.
“License?” she asks.
“Yes, the thing with a little picture of herself in it”, answers the police officer.
The blonde fumbles around in her bag and finds a pocket mirror. She opens it, sees her own face and hands it over to the police officer.
The Officer looks at it, exhales knowingly and says: “Why didn’t you just say that you’re a cop, too?”

@Squall: hm, I don’t know. no, I do think it’s re-watchable, if only for the music. that is, if you like the music. it’s a bit Damien Rice-ish and I imagine that’s not everybody’s cup of tea.
