I would love to hear Slayer in a diaper advertisment!

Re: HA lyrics in General Therapy? Topics
I have to agree, the lyrics on High Anxiety aren’t the best Andy ever wrote but there still are some highlights (“my grandfather was canonfudder” for instance).
I also noticed that I’m starting to get a little tired of HA by now. Usually I can listen to T? albums for years and still enjy them like it was the first time.

Man you really should know the Screaming Trees. Mark Lanegan, now of QOTSA fame, sang there.
You also should check out Mad Season, Barrett Martin’s project with Layne Staley+(Alice In Chains) and Mike McCready (Pearl Jam). That’s one fucking great album!

Re: Bowling for Columbine in Chit-Chat
I agree. I can’t watch a Charlton Heston movie anymore since I saw “BFC”.
It surprised me, though, that they gave Moore the Oscar. Did they really expect him to keep his mouth shut?

Oh yeah sure! I’ll also grab a girl at the next gig and then blame it on my shoe! ;)

Re: Therapy? London Gig review + Set List in Therapy? Live
Jeez, I really don’t like the setlist. Too many new songs, too many stuff that has been played too often. Pleeeeeaasse put more “Semi-Detached” in there, guys! More “Infernal Love” and more “Suicide Pact”! Where is “Straight Life”? It has been voted by the fans!

Re: Suicide Pact in General Therapy? Topics
“Semi-Detached” is my No. 1 lately.
It’s strange how long it took me to like “Suicide Pact - You First”. I guess I was sceptical at first because I thought Therapy? would go on doing albums like that exclusively. Escpecially after Andy told a friend of mine at a gig that they would “keep going in that direction.”.
Apparently “Suicide Pact - You First” was a one time thing (much like every other T? Album) and I actually think it’s a damn good album, one of T?’s best!

:D sorry ‘bout that. I was thinking about another one. Maybe you guys could start it this time: “Best Hidden Track”. You only have three choices there.

Re: Graham, Neil or Fyfe? in General Therapy? Topics
Hm, honestly I’m not a drummer but I never thought there was anything wrong with Graham. After Fyfe left I was afraid that T? might get some average, uninspired drummer but then they released “Church Of Noise” and I was like: “Hey, the new guy’s just as good as Fyfe!”.
Neil sounds good to me, too. They could probably have produced a better drum sound on HA but that’s the producer’s fault not Neil’s. A friend of mine said that he thinks “Hey Satan - You Rock” sounds a little jerky but I really can’t find any mistake in it.

Which was the best track to ever end a Therapy? album?
my vote goes to “the Boy’s Asleep” which IMO also was the best song to ever and a T? gig.

Re: Radiohead in Other Bands & Artists
UNKLE’s “Rabbit In Your Headlights” is one of the best music videos ever IMO. The song is quite good, too.
“There, There” has Thom Yorke running through the woods witnessing some pretty strange events (maybe he ate some bad mushrooms?). It gets really cool towards the ending!

 That part in “My Voodoo Doll”, “But the only thing that failed me/Was the things that may have saved me” sounds like a part in Lucilectric’s “Mädchen” (“Und ich lach ihn an, oh prima, den nehm ich nach Hause mit.”). Creepy!
[For those of you who don’t know. Lucilectric is a shitty German one hit wonder band, the one hit being “Mädchen”]

Re: Best Album in General Therapy? Topics
“The Bends” and “OK Computer” are equally heavenly but since “OK Computer” is more a winter album and “The Bends” is a summer CD i prefer the latter. Still, it’s the same as with “Semi-Detached” and “Troublegum” or “Angel Dust” and “King For A Day… Fool For A Lifetime”: I can hardly decide which one I like better

My fave new video is “There There” by Radiohead.
I just saw the new Deftones clip. Wow, Chino Moreno keeps getting fatter.
The new QOTSA Clip is quite good, too.

Do politics belong in (rock)music? in Chit-Chat
Title: Do politics belong in (rock)music?
Me, myself I never apreciated bands preaching politics in their songs. It’s one thing to try and increase people’s interest in politics and another to enforce someone on your personal opinion. Therefore I’m not such a big fan of bands like Rage Against The Machine, Boy Sets Fire. and Harcore bands in general (well, that’s also because I’m not really into hardcore music;) ).
It was just so bizarre when I was at an (International) Noise Conspiracy concerts and a bunch of drunk kids were standing next to me bawling “Capitalism stooooooole my virginity”. As if these dudes weren’t happy and satisfied participants in this capitalistic society.
I prefer Therapy? like lyrics that actually touch me.

Yep, these and maybe “Cochise” (which is a “Whole Lotta Love” Rip-Off) are probably the only good songs on the album. I’m very sorry to say that but Chris is just wasting his time there recording this unispired shit. RATM where good for exactly one album and managed to constantly repeat themselves from then on. To mix Cornell with RATM was a bad idea in the first place. Besides, the band name sucks.
