They should still record it though, make a nice sequel to ‘Polar Bear’ :p

Re: Straight Life in General Therapy? Topics
i’ll give him 10 days :D He’s cracking already
let’s see:
Chocolate: Should be piss easy i reckon, seeing as he’s not a woman
Coffee/caffeine: This would fuck me up, maybe if it was limited to just one cup in the morning that would be ok.You need a coffee first thing don’t you?
Beer: would no doubt be impossible to abstain from if they were on tour, should be ok if he’s just sitting around a studio trying to focus though.
Cigs: He’s gonna lose his mind on this one!
All together though?!!? Yoinks!!!
Listening to Big Black isn’t going to help his agitated mood either

New Album Diarys in Your Feedback & Suggestions
Title: New Album Diarys
Does anyone connected with the site know if the band are planning on doing diarys during the recording of the next record or not? The NANE ones i found highly interesting and it’s cool to hear how things are progressing.
Also, What happened to that Q&A feature?

Re: rare tracks in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade
Hehehe! Getting a fair few problems from this ain’t cha? Try kicking fuck out of your screen.
They were an incredibly lovely two seconds i should add, but i get the feeling most people would rather hear the entire thing [/sarcy cunt]
ps-did they ever do ‘Another Girl, Another Planet’ live? I’d be very interested to hear that should it ever make an appearance…

Re: rare tracks in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade
Erm, the mp3’s are now working, but how come there’s only a few seconds of each track? There’s one of the early demo tracks there that lets you hear literally two seconds of the intro…and that’s it.Is there a problem with the bandwidth malarky?

I like black comedys and dark humour like jam, and bill hicks
Have you heard Blue Jam? it’s available on Warp records and puts the tv series to shame, also if you like Bill Hicks check out Doug Stanhope
Dead Can Dance-‘Within The Realm Of A Dying Sun’ is the most depressing record i’ve ever heard, but it’s also hugely enjoyable.
Big Black/Rapeman-Intense/cathartic.Often Scary.Songs about child abuse and self immolation.Dark enough for ye?
Tom Waits-‘Rain Dogs’ is weird yet accessable, ‘Bone Machine’ and ‘The Mule Variations’ are just scary.
Scott Walker’s ‘Tilt’ is as dark as music gets really.I won’t try to describe it though, but it’s like something from Blue Jam
Foetus is pretty damn disturbing, particularly the early stuff.’Hole’ and ‘Nail’ are pretty essential if you’re into NIN, it’s where Trent nicked most of his ideas (both musical and lyrical)
If you like early Nick Cave, check out the Birthday Party. It is totally different to the stuff he’s doing now but is some seriously dark and disturbed stuff.
There’s shitloads more but i’ll leave you with that lot for now.
Have fun!

Does any one know about the origins of the samples in ‘Innocent X’? I think one is from star trek and the other is supposed to be from Dead Ringers (the Cronenberg movie), but i don’t hear it meself having seen the latter several times…

Ohhhh yeah that’s incredible.Best rock’n’roll solo evah111111.The part where it collides with that honkey-tonk piano is actually one of my all time fave bits of music.
My personal favourite is in ‘Fiery Gun Hand’ by the Cardiacs.Nobody else has ever heard it, but it’s fucking demented…somewhere between Zappa and Slayer

I hate it when people have expectations about artists’ work.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with trying to prompt a bit of discussion about this. You may have noticed most people have said they’d probably be happy with whatever T? came out with next, so i don’t think that’s really ‘imposing restrictons’ as it were and of course the bottom line is the band will always do what the fuck they want regardless, which imo should be applauded (Nurse as a major label debut, Infernal Love after Troublegum, Suicide Pact etc were all brave moves i think)

Have T? ever really done ballads? ‘Six Mile Water’ and ‘Gone’ maybe, but apart from that…?

Re: What would you expect from the next record? in General Therapy? Topics
I know what you mean.Sometimes i worry that they’ll split due to the general disinterest of major labels/General public etc… i just hope they continue to make different and exciting records ‘cos i feel if a lot of people had their way the band would exist solely on endless copies of their former ‘glories’ ie: songs that sound just like ‘screamager’ and ‘Nowhere’
The band are obviously big fans of a lot of the more leftfield side of the musical spectrum, so maybe it’s time to come out with a record as unique and misunderstood as Suicide Pact… etc and i think NANE was a step in the right direction

What would you expect from the next record? in General Therapy? Topics
Title: What would you expect from the next record?
Any preferences at all?
I’d personally like to see an extention of the more experimental side of the band.NANE was superior to HA imo primarily because it took a few more risks rather than focussed on simplistic pop punk, lets face it we know these guys can knock off stuff like ‘My Voodoo Doll’ or ‘Watch You Go’ in their sleep, some people seem to expect another ‘Screamager’, why bother when they could be evolving the darker, more unpredictable side of Suicide Pact or NANE or indeed the earlier stuff.Surely it’s better to challenge themselves and their fans by keeping in tune with the more abrasive, abstract side that i feel is more realisticaly Therapy? than anything else.
What do you want from the next T? album? I’d be interested to hear what you think.
note: i’m very drunk so this may not be as eloquent as i intended…
