I haven’t seen them live since 1982 and I understand they are supposed to have come on quite a lot since then.
A friend of mine always goes to the Christmas gig in Manchester and he says there is a great vibe at the shows, a bit of a family atmos if you will. I have their best of, its alright but not really my cup of tea. I too would have said they sound a bit like the Levellers but I suppose that would be a lazy comparrison. Didn’t Sepultra cover one of their songs on Chaos AD? Think so. I’d head on to the gig if I were you Mr SD.

Re: No plans for Irish shows in Therapy? Live
Maybe i am getting carried away with my self but the day Therapy? don’t hear me bitchin about them not playing a home show is the day they should worry. At the same time Soul Doubt you are going too far the other way in so far as you think everything the boys do is correct.
I’v been to so many T? shows out side of Dublin where Andy says at some point in the set something along the lines of ‘its been 3 years since we have played this town, we promise that we’ll be back sooner next time’. And 3-4 years pass.
I’m sure they’ll get over at some point, i hope its sooner rather than later.

Re: No plans for Irish shows in Therapy? Live
get off your high horse, i’ll complain if i wasn’t to. I have traveled all over to see Paradise Lost and i have no problem doing that and the reason that i have no problem doing that is because they don’t come from Ireland. Therapy? do come from here so its hardly unreasonable to expect a headline show over here.
Not everything Therapy do is right, they are human, humans make mistakes and it is a mistake not to play a show over here.

Sadly though, playing their home country is far from a positive thing :(

Thanks for the offer Cuchulain, who knows I may get back to you.
Not even a Lotto grant are gonna get T? to play over here I’m afraid. This is all a bit shit really, isn’t it??

Re: No plans for Irish shows in Therapy? Live
Yep Mr POO, The Answer would be asking far too much :). I choose Cork because it was the best place that I have ever seen them and I know people who have loads of experience in putting on gigs down in Cork. Ah well, looks like it doesn’t matter any way.

Re: No plans for Irish shows in Therapy? Live
Yep if some wise ass goes on about flyin to where ever or goes on about the fact that they played Ireland already they can feck off.
I have seen T? over 10 times and the Cork show I was at a couple of years ago was amazing and I don’t say that often. I was kneeling on the stage for the last half of it and they kicked off with Meat Abstract, the place went mental.
It will be a bit sad if they don’t do a head line gig over here for OCFA, hopefully they’ll change their minds.

There is only one date in the Tour section of this website. Its all a bit strange. Hope they change their mind in the near future, while i still can afford to do it.

No plans for Irish shows in Therapy? Live
Title: No plans for Irish shows
I decided lately that I would like to put my money where my mouth is and book Therapy? to play Cork. I emailed their booking agent to see what the damage would be and I got a quick reply to say that T? have no plans to play Ireland in the near future. I’ll try again in a bit but it doesn’t look good for a headline OCFA gig in Ireland which is a pity.
I really wanted to see them in Cyprus Avenue again as when I saw them there a few years ago it was easily the best I had ever see them.

Re: Novarock 07 in Therapy? Live
my friend went over on his own as the people that were ment to go backed out. He’s the kind of guy that gets on with every one so this was no big deal. he went into a bar near where its on the night before it started and all that were in there was 2 women. he got chatting to them and eventually they started playing a game of dice. i don’t know what the rules were but he threw some number that got him a blow job. needless to say i’m going next year.

I’m all in favour of hearing some of the old songs on tour. Don’t think I have ever heard Skinning Pit live, I have heard Voodoo Doll though. Some times life ain’t fair.

Re: Calling Out Therapy?!!!! in Therapy? Live
What are you on about? of couse Therapy? have to play Ireland, i assume you are aware of their history. Therapy? ae treated as heros in this country and there is a reason for that and it is not because they are from Japan, america or belgium, its because they are Irish boys done good.
We all know Therapy? are gonna play a headline show over here soon and the only question is when. You seem to think that it would be ok if they did not because they played 2 support shows, well thats bollox. Therapy are legends in this country to alot of people but this will only last if they play proper shows here and this is something i want to see asap. From what i recall and please correct me if im wrong but their last headline show in the South was over 2 years ago and i’m sorry but thats a bit too long.
As I said earlier the best Therapy? show I was ever at was in Cork before NANE came out and it was killer and you could tell the band were lovin it also. I want to experience that feeling again and i want Therapy? to see how much we love them also.
You said staying away from the support gigs because they played the hits was a lame excuse, how can that be? If i go to a support show about 50% of the set will be hits due to the fact that they are playing for 40 mins. If i go to see a headline show the hits will make up a far less presentage due to the longer stage time. I love those song and all but i’v heard them at a dozen different T? shows.
Any way as some one said this is all getting blown out ot proportion.

Re: Calling Out Therapy?!!!! in Therapy? Live
I really would like to see the lads play but im not paying to watch load of cash to watch a 40 minute set in which most of the set is full of the hits. Now I don’t know what they played at these gigs but I’m sure they played Screamager, Nowhere, Teethgrinder etc which is fair enough but i’v hear them play these songs a dozen times. I can take it at a headline gig but I ain’t traveling all that way to hear the just a couple of songs that I haven’t heard before.
As for them not playing in Japan or Belgium all the time is missing the point as they are not from any of these countries.

Your blaming Therapy? for not playing Dublin?!
What the fuck is wrong with you?
Therapy? have a person that books their gigs, go to the links page, you can get his link there I think.
Stop bitching about them not playing in Dublin, because they’ve played in Dublin twice this year. And I suppose it was just too much hassle for you to come up to the Belfast gig on the 4th June? That was a full setlist. A train cost £16GBP and a hotel room is about £65-£70GBP.
As Soul Doubt said, get off your arse and go see them. Their people as well as musicians you know. Let them have a personal life.
Colinx
Relax, you’re getting a bit excited there. They have played Dublin as a support act twice last year which for some of us isn’t worth the hassle. Why would i want to go see them play the hits when i’v seen them play the hits 10 times already. I don’t think its too much to ask that they play a few headline gigs in Ireland as part of the current album tour

Re: Calling Out Therapy?!!!! in Therapy? Live
Dublin Dublin Dublin always feckin Dublin. I’v seen Therapy? well over 10 times and by far and away the best i’v seen them was in Cyprus Avenue, Cork a few years ago. The lads should do a few club gig around the country instead of one big gig in Dublin. The Ambassador isn’t the greatest venue. Did they play there a few years ago with Clutch and someone else? It wasn’t a patch on the Cork gig.
Obviously it’ll be great to see them where ever they play.

Re: The Astoria, London - 1st December in Therapy? Live
Title: Was it theTroublgum tour or the NANE tour?
I think they played 7 songs from album which isn’t right. I was a tad dissapointed by the gig but I enjoyed it none the less. It was my 10th show but it was abit of a dissapointment due to the lazy crowd and the predictable set list. Epilesy and Innocent x were great to hear but the gig held few surprizes. Im sick of hearing loads of songs off and album that is 10 years old. T? have too many great songs to mention so they should not be playing half of Toublegum a decade after its release.
Agree or disagree?

They haven’t played it in a couple of years.
Andy is always saying how great an album ‘Suicide Pact’ is, and how it’s always over-looked, but since they hardly ever play any tracks off it, what does he expect!?
‘Ten Year Plan’ is the only song played live off that album in the past two years, the rest is ignored.
If Andy really wants people to realise that they’ve released excellent stuff since Troublegum, maybe he should start by dropping some of the 7 or 8 standard live tracks off that album, and play more than just 1 song off Suicide Pact?
I agree. T? sometimes forget that many of the fans at the gigs are diehards and they want to hear less of the hits and more of the album tracks. Disgracelands anyone?

Was looking at the gig section of Kerrang and i’d swear in the Therapy? ad it said they were playing The Mean Fiddler on dec 1 and in the Helmet ad it said Helmet are to play in the Mean Fiddler on dec 1. Is this a miss print or what?
