Re: Friends? (split from They’re playing Leeds!!! :D) in Chit-Chat

I met my friend who lives next door to me at uni on the net. it’s actually incredibly weird for that to have happened, we found out we were right next door purely by chance. I love her and I’m so glad someone lets me play loud music the whole time. She’s absolutely great but I don’t think you can say someone’s properly your friend unitl you’ve met them.

Jack Handey in Chit-Chat

Title: Jack Handey

http://hutchville.com/jack_handey.shtml

“Sometimes you have to be careful when selecting a new name for yourself. For instance, let’s say you have chosen the nickname “Fly Head.” Normally you would think that “fly Head” would mean a person who has beautiful swept-back features, as if flying through the air. But think again. Couldn’t it also mean “having a head like a fly”? I’m afraid some people might actually think that.”

I can’t think of anything funnier than this guy. I’ve been cryin with laughter for half an hour. People think I’m insane.

Re: Suede split in Other Bands & Artists

I love Suede. They are one of my favourite bands and I am in denial about any rumour that they’re gonna split.
I love Brett Anderson, he loves Bowie and really, that’s all it takes
Suede are wonderful, I love Dog Man Star
Bowie even invited them to tour with him which would have been the most amazin thing to see

I love Suede and I’m sad :(

Re: Links to cool things in Chit-Chat

suicide girls has long time been my favourite website. It’s very addictive and the girls are adorable and about a million times more endearing than the run of the mill supermodel type

Re: Rene Zellweger in Chit-Chat

I watched Empire Records the other day and Renee is so lovely in it. I love the end when she sings sugar high and she’s so incredibly cute. I haven’t seen Chicago but I really think Renee is one of my favourite actresses she’s adorable.
Don’t like Richard Gere much he’s a bit horrible

Re: what was the last gig you went to? in Chit-Chat

I saw the most hilariously bad band last night. They were so bad it wasn’t funny my friend and I nearly died of laughter and the lead singer came up to us clearly thinking we were huge fans trying to chat us up. Dickhead. One song was called ‘oops I’ve got a boner’. Seriously I have a cough because I laughed so much.

I don’t know what any of this means but I’m very sorry you’ve been burgled. It’s rather harsh of them. Dickheads.

Well… I’ve met this guy and he’s only 22. I’m 28, normally I would only date men that are about 10 years older, so this is a big difference. I can talk to him about so many things I normally can’t talk to with 28+… it’s so strange, ‘cause I do think about his age all the time.
Nothing is happening and we are just friends right now, but I do maybe like him a bit more :D So now you know ;)

what have you got to lose? Toyboys are great. Having said that I feel a bit guilty for being currently obsessed with a 16 year old, me being 19. It’s not good but if we were in our 20s it would be fine.

Re: MSN Chat in Chit-Chat

I really hope they keep messenger.
I never use chatrooms and I think they do more harm than good. Apparently AOL have already got rid of their chatrooms or something but they never announced it officially.

is the shoe shopping that good there???

it’s not that great but it’s got a big shoe section in Topshop and lots of little shoe shops that sell kind of different looking shoes.I could spend lots of money there. I bought some really cute sandals with a little heel and tiny flowers on. I’m in love with them but i bet i spill a ton of beer on them the first time i wear ‘em.

Squall wrote:

You just know that if Heathen was a brand new album from a brand new artist, it would get called ” dad rock ” or ” retro ” or ” nothing exciting “

well of course they would if they didn’t like it. People said that anyway despite it being Bowie. Fact is lots of people did like it which is why it sold so well. I’m just stating the obvious here by the way

Re: 495 posts!!! in Chit-Chat

oh god I just worked out I’ll have £26 to live on every week for the next 10 weeks. That can’t be right can it? I get 1000 but my accommodation is 800 and I have 60 in the bank from a year of working/spending.

Re: Calling all Europeans in Chit-Chat

Ah, I’m going to Newcastle in half an hour. Not for the wall though, I go for the shoe shopping and the HMV experience.
I’ve seen the wall lots of times and heard about it and supposedly studied it and stuff. I dunno if I’d come see it if I lived faraway though. I suppose if you’re interested in walls it might be fun ..

Squall wrote:

Bowie is the personification of the word ” Overrated “.

The day he sings in tune will be the day Metallica support Therapy?

um, i’ve never heard him sing out of tune before.

I think a lot of stuff he’s done is overrated, like ‘I’m Afraid Of Americans’ which I really liked but it got a bit too much hype for what it’s worth. I don’t think he’s overrated though. I can understand people not liking him but I think he’s proved himself to be as good an artist as he’s cracked up to be

ah I’m going to be without a tv for the next 3 years because I can’t afford a tv license at university. I’m such an addict as well I have no idea how I’ll cope without all the crap I watch.

It can’t be bad, it’s a Bowie album and we’re not in the 80s anymore. But…
…it’s definitely not better than Heathen.
I can’t see any top quality songs like 5:15 The Angels Have Gone, Everyone Says ‘Hi’ or Heathen (The Rays) on it.

I think it really is better than Heathen although I take you point. Everyone Says Hi is a great song but I think I like Reality better as a whole. I think it’s a more honest album.

oh my god reese witherspoon is hideous. I really find her unattractive, Legally Blonde 2 was the worst film ever and there’s just something awful about the lower half of her face. eurgh
I like Renee Zellweger a lot despite the fact she stole Jack White before I got the chance. She’s pretty and cute and funny and bubbly. She looks a bit puffy and her eyes are a bit squinty but that adds to her charm and she’s even prettier when she puts on weight for bridget jones.
