I use Ernie Ball slinkies on my Les Paul and strat, never had a problem with them and the guitars never go out of tune no matter how much I bend the strings.
I’ve just bought a bass too, dont have a clue what strings are on it, all I know they are thick!!! Spent two hours on the bass then switched to the Les Paul, freaked me out!!!!
“These strings are so THIN!!!!”.
Speaking of which, must buy some more…

Thanks Clown, I have done and it sounds good, I’m using a Rectifier distortion and plenty on reverb on my trusty Behringer V-amp2, if I record it fully I’ll post it.

Long Distance in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
Title: Long Distance
Anyone got any ideas about the chords/keys to this song? I think its amazing and would love to learn to play it properly, I play it strumming power chord style with distortion and reverb but it does’nt sound right.
If anyone can poke me in the right direction (including Mr Cairns…) it would be much appreciated.

The danelectro sounded a bit iffy in my setup, a bit weak on the sound, whereas the RAT delivers everything and wants a fight too. I’ve seen it kicking my wah…

I have two, a Gibson Les Paul and a Strat. ATM I’m belting out Nirvana stuff on the strat through my RAT distortion and its great, but when I want something heavier I dig out Mr Gibson for a while…

I normally go for the “scooped mids” approach with treble and bass cranked for mega distortion licks, for not so distorted I have everything on 50%, wierd but it works!
I also have a nice clean setting on my Digitech that almost jangles, but when I dig in with the pick it goes “grrrrrr” a bit.

Yep, I agree. Therapy? are one of Britains best bands and always will be in my opinion, they do what they always do, no compromises just to sell records, just a noisy racket and thats what I like!!
I recommended High Anxiety to a mate and he loved it when he got hold of it, he has Nurse and Troublegum but nothing since, I have poked him in the right direction.
Any band that can get their bass player to wear a hat saying “Iron Cock” in German gets my vote!!! (See Scopophobia).

Greetings fellow Scopophobia heads!!!
I’m in the process of cleaning said axe, I ripped the strings off it and am in the process of getting rid of all the gunk on the fretboard, before polishing the pickups and headstock and whacking a set of Daddario strings (heavy gauge) onto it and hearing how it sounds.
It needs a clean too, you should see it…

I reckon a piccy of Tony Blair with a flag of Iraq behind him might go down well in the current climate…

Or a collage of photos of us Therapy? fans making a face?

I use either a thick purple Jim Dunlop pick of a heavy Fender pick I bought months ago. I also got hold of the new Pickboy carbon nylon picks and tried them for a bit, but they felt strange when picking if you know what I mean!
I did have a 3mm stubby a while back but gave up with it, it made my thumb cramp!!!
Back to my les paul then…

Okay, you’re at a Therapy gig and all is well, then Andy points to you frantically playing air guitar and genarally acting like a loony and says
“You, get up here and strap on an axe”.
So you climb on stage, throw a Gibson SG over your shoulder and grab a plectrum, the crowd goes silent, then you bang out a superb version of Stop it you’re killing me before going straight into Safe and finishing with Screamager whilst the crowd goes nuts and Andy nods appreciatively.
Then to top things you spend ten minutes belting out the Pentatonic solo from heaven (e minor 12th fret) before handing back the guitar and jumping back into the crowd.
That was my dream the other night, peculiar person me…
