So what’s the deal with the High Anxiety demo? Never heard that one before. Can someone light me in?

Hmmm, that performance of Die Laughing would’ve been an excellent rarity for the Troublegum 10-year-anniversary-edition that of course was probably never considered. Anyone up for a what-if-tracklist?

Re: BBC Sessions - music through a cheap transistor in General Therapy? Topics
Must say that I’m blown away, so they say, by what I’m hearing. Brainsaw and obviously all the Nurse-tracks (especially Nausea… djeez, that one is loud!) I think are way superior than the album versions.
Why haven’t I collected all these radio versions back in the day? But then again, it’s quite an experience hearing ‘brand new sparkling’ versions of some of your favorite songs after more than ten years.
Speaking of which, I see some dude on some other forum talking about the Dave Fanning sessions.
He mentions an early performance of Die Laughing, that sounds like a real treat. Is that one widely available on bootlegs (or mp3)?

Re: BBC Sessions - music through a cheap transistor in General Therapy? Topics
I see, so Pile of Bricks was the first track on their first Peel Session. Missed that one. Djeeezzz, am I curious to hear ‘Auto Surgery’ from the same session! Definitely one of their most underrated trax, if you ask me…
I really like the title ‘Music through a cheap transistor’, by the way. Nice recycled lyric from ‘Safe’. And ‘Wall of Mouths’ has pile of bricks in it, any relation to that old one?

BBC Sessions - music through a cheap transistor in General Therapy? Topics
Title: iTunes download: music through cheap transistor!
Forgive me if this has already been mentioned someplace else.
“Therapy? - Music through a cheap transistor - The BBC Sessions”
28 storming session tracks including the previously unreleased ‘The Sweeney’ ‘Lost Highway’ and ‘Pile of Bricks’ exclusively available from iTunes from 26th Feb.
Fookin’ great title!!!, and I thought I knew kinda everything about T? but where the heck does Pile of Bricks come from???????
By the way, I got this from a nice ad in the latest Mojo, page 13. Sure been a long time since I saw Therapy? promoted in Mojo, guess that explanes me rushing online!
The sleeve says: Featuring Prisonbreaker Perversonality Nausea Teethgrinder Bloody Blue Pile Of Bricks Screamager Trigger Inside Knives Misery and Lost Highway.
Available as digital downloads only.
So, tell me about Pile of Bricks…

Title: X-cellent stuff
Sure makes you hope Perversonality will be on the webgig-list! Nice shot of some other band’s drummer strangely sliced in between near the end, by the way. And Troublegum was supposed to be a 12 track album??? You guyz suppose Screamager and Turn were originally intended as EP only, or what else?

Re: Exclusive Therapy? Webgig in General Therapy? Topics
Title: Don’t get ur hopes up
For sure the ‘usual suspects’ will get the most votes. That’s probably part of the plan, otherwise they wouldn’t be on the list.
Think it’s gonna be 8 or 9 or even 10 usuals and then 2 or 3 rarities, thanx to Womble-action. In no particular order something like this:
Innocent X
Dancin’ With Manson
Teethgrinder
Nausea
Screamager
Turn
Nowhere
Knives
Die Laughing
Femtex
Suing God
You can replace Manson and Femtex in that list with Moment of Clarity and Straight Life, think of the last vote. If any ‘new’ song (Dead, Sprung, Darkness etc.) pops up, I demand I recount…
Anyway, think this is a brilliant idea. I voted for Loser Cop, Innocent X and Die Like A Motherfucker.

I’ll throw in another (a tiny bit more realistic) one:
CD1:
PERISH THE THOUGHT
PLEBIANS
MEAT ABSTRACT (Live 2004)
PERISH THE THOUGHT (4-Trk Demo)
CD2:
PERISH THE THOUGHT (Live 2004)
ANIMAL BONES (Live 2004)
LOSER COP (Live 2004)
INNOCENT X (Live 2004)
Wouldn’t it be nice?

Title: Fantasy single sold on upcoming tour
I really like that So Much For The 20 Year Plan-thread, so in the same spirit: what would everyone like to see on an exclusive 5-trk-cd-single sold on the next leg of the NANE-tour?
Here’s mine:
1 PLEBIANS
2 LOSER COP (Live 2004)
3 ANIMAL BONES (Live 2004)
4 INNOCENT X (Live 2004)
5 PERISH THE THOUGHT (4-Trk Demo)
Yes, I know that last one is a free download BUT it’s great stuff and all computerless folks should have it!

Title: I like this topic
Shameless: Gimme Back My Brain & I Am The Money
High Anxiety: If It Kills Me & Rust
N.A.N.E.: Die Like A Motherfucker & This Ship Is Sinking
They’ll probably take 3 songs from NANE (just like Suicide Pact - You First on the first) so add Rise Up then.
As for the new songs: “Troublegum” would be a very clever title for a very Troublegum-sounding-kinda-song AND of course “We’ll never play rare Babyteeth songs live in The Netherlands (And we like it)”

Re: Hey there in General Therapy? Topics
Well, numerous posters advertising the Teethgrinder-single pass by clearly at some point in Naked. Maybe that´s the connection you´re looking for.
And the sample in Innocent X not used in the studioversion? There seems to be no point in arguing at what point Therapy? saw a movie and decided to use a sample BUT they used various samples at live shows not used in the studio (the best probably being the “I cast you out, Satan, in the name of Jesus, come out!” at the beginning of Hellbelly at Donington 1994 and also that 25-seconds sample of that screaming woman in King Of Comedy “…See, I like to be in control…”)
And talking of Innocent X… listen to the BBC version on this site (Innocent Abstraction): it starts with a very cool sample (I have no clue it´s from), once again not used in the studio. Don´t forget to check out the samplepage on http://www.suicidepact.com!
Man, this sample talking gets me going, those really were the days, huh? I guess good ol´ Fyfe was the real sampling kinda guy, just check out his favorite movies at some site (probably also suicidepact.com). But then again, in 1998 in Brussels they started Nowhere with a bit from The Beatles´ Nowhere Man. Absolutely brilliant… not sung by Andy (which he also occasionely did) but the real Beatles…

Thats your advice for a band on their 4th line up?
Your wrong about the Clash though! Are you really talking Clash with Keith Levene, Clash with Terry Chimes and Clash as a treesome before Topper Headon joined here? Anyway, I’m talking definitive line-up here… don’t get me wrong, I’m still a Fyfe-era fan myself, but the 10-year-plan-tour was such a triumphant one I always considered it the definitive line-up,
not making a lot of sense here I’m afraid, cheerz y’all,

It’s an utter disgrace that if T? actually will release a live-cd, it will be have no cello! Fuck, ever since Martin’s out I’ve got this constant bad taste about one of my favorite bands ever.
Sorry to bring it up again BUT I never replied to any messages for ages. I just can’t believe the business as usual thing that is going on right now with the tour… Andy & Michael have become company men to me, honestly. You might disagree but to me they are… they should have listened to Joe Strummer twenty years after The Clash sacked Topper Headon… NEVER EVER change the winning formula. Or something like that,
they will soon realise something is wrong… I hope…

Got this hunch that they’re gonna sell them remaining My Voodoo Doll cd-singles during the upcoming tourdates. I mean, why sell them through the website as promised when you got dates in Turkey, Russia and shitloads in the UK ahead? Like I said, hate to be such a winer but what about us Dutch fans not having the chance on the last tour to buy the single?
Okay, it’s nice for the Turkish and Russian fans, but just had to say this. Hope I am wrong and all,

Well, this discussion is starting to get funny. I think it’s time to contact the guy who wrote the review…
I’m not even gonna explain why I think y’all wrong, because too me it’s too damn obvious (and I don’t mean in a arrogant way),
if most people take things written about Therapy? this way the band sure had a lot more positive press than I assumed. Hey, why not read through some ol’ NME’s, maybe I can find some more insults that I can see as a compliment all of a sudden, after this thread that is,

I’ll quote smaller portions then! There is absolutely NO WAY that this can be taken in any positive way, c’mon! Mediocre says it all.
That’s the problem with a lot of magazines (not that I care and that they probably can’t do anything about it), there never is any continuity. How often do you read a very positive article about a band recording an album and a few pages later in the same magazine in the review-section that album gets axed! Magazines are not filled by one author. Maybe the guy who wrote the Offspring review can’t stand the fact that his magazine has been so positive about T? all the years. He simply doesn’t like’em and this is a very funny and nice way of bullying his collegues!
Same (continuity) problem with - a bit off-topic I know - the oscars. How the hell can a movie get Best script, best actor and best director BUT not best picture??? I’m talking Pianist vs. Chicago here…
