Re: Support Acts in Chit-Chat
Cheers,
you know their song ‘Sandwich’? It’s the b-side of ‘Trapped’ or ‘Walking on Air’, ca’t remember. Brilliant tune, should’ve been on One For The Money.

Can’t Get You Out Of My Head (You don’t have to apologise for that one, this one and Get Ur Freak On are gonna be classics…)
Also, everybody should check out every remix of every Depeche Mode single this year. Esp. the I Feel Loved remixes.

Re: Best records of the year ? in Chit-Chat
Better reply late than never,
the three best albums of last year were in alphabetical order:
FRANK BLACK & THE CATHOLICS - Dog In The Sand
N*E*R*D - In Search Of…
NEW ORDER - GetReady
others albums that were pretty good are the ones by Weezer, Ash, Manics, Aaliyah, Therapy?, Slayer, Rammstein, Destiny’s Child and Radiohead. I still haven’t heard Depeche Mode but I’m sure it would make the list.

Upcoming gigs, it’s a strange list in Chit-Chat
Title: Upcoming gigs, it’s a strange list
Just realised sumthin and I’d like to share it with y’all. Tonight I’m off to see Muse and Zita Swoon play in Amsterdam. Until the end of the year I’m going to, by the way I’ve decided to see Therapy? on 50% of their upcoming Dutch shows, Destiny’s Child, Jeff Mills, Guns N’Roses, Rammstein, (a couple of) Trockener Kecks (shows), Impulz and probably I Love Techno as well. This is a weird list. I’m not going to tell which of those I’m just going for the fuck of it. Oh yeah I forgot I’m also looking forward to Youp van ‘t Hek in Carre and last but not least Andre Hazes drinking in front of a home audience in the Heineken (!) Music Hall in Amsterdam.

Re: John Coultrane in Chit-Chat
John Coultrane and John Coltrane are one and the same person??? I don’t think the song namechecks the famous jazz-musician, but the other one.

Weezer (to Unbeliever and others) in Chit-Chat
Title: Weezer (to Unbeliever and others)
Just heard their new single entitled Hasj Pipe. Pretty nice subject I’d have to say, didn’t pay attention to the lyrics though. Speaking of Weezer they’ll be playing the Melkweg in June I believe, so mr.Unbeliever I’ll probably see you there. Their debut album is one of your favorite records, right? Read a set-list of a recent gig and they even play quite a few songs from their 2nd album (one of the most underrated albums in years), to end with a rhyme, cheers,
T.Skywalker

Frank Black & The Catholics (2) in Chit-Chat
Title: Frank Black & The Catholics (2)
I’m off to see Frank Black perform tonight in the Melkweg. Has anybody see him during this tour? Appearently he’s playing songs like Nimrod’s Son and Monkey Gone To Heaven again. Can’t wait until the fat guy sings.
Usually when expectations are high it turns out to be a bit of a bummer, but I kinda have the feeling going to one of my favorite gigs of all-time tonight. Like I mentioned earlier his latest album is fucking excellent (hope he’ll do all 12 trax tonight) and he’s playing Pixies tunes again.
Cheers,
T.W.
By the way, for radio 3FM I voted for Fat Camp/Turn/Bad Karma Follows You Around/Wicked Man and Evil Elvis.
And to mr.Screamager (man, you fake your orgasms????) they didn’t play Stories in Amsterdam.

Re: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon in Chit-Chat
I fell in love with her also. The moment I asked my friend whether he would want to fuck her, the little monkey started laughing loud saying he was thinking about the same thing right that moment.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon in Chit-Chat
Title: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Jesus fuckin’ Christ, what an excellent movie. The only problem was that me and my friend were as stoned as two little monkies (gone to heaven) which made it quite hard to read the (Dutch!) subtitles in time. The dialogue is in Mandarin, you see. Well, the English couple next to us had a much harder time. We heard her say:’I told you so, asshole.’ Ten minutes later they left.
During the movie I wasn’t that impressed, the next day I woke up and had the feeling I had just seen one of the most brilliant movie for days!

Mr Bungle and Frank Black & The Catholics in Chit-Chat
Title: Mr Bungle and Frank Black & The Catholics
Jesus fuckin’ Christ! Saw Mr.Bungle on tv the other day and I though they were absolutely brilliant. This is one of those bands I heard of for years and years but never heard anything from ‘em. I always ASSUMED that they were bad without hearing one single note. Been to quite a few festivals where they played, which is a bit annoying right now if y’all know what I mean. Fortunately I saw Faith No More live at least once.
Oh yeah, and Frank Blacks new album is actually very very good. I hate it when people say that he can never top the Pixies. So fuckin’ what. His solo output is always way better than your average guitar band. And Dog In The Sand is great from the first to the last second and, although I never pay attention to reviews, even Q gave it 4 stars.
Cheers,
T.Skywalker
P.S. To Unbeliever: What d’you know about the Kecks.

Re: Diamond Dave in Chit-Chat
I THINK the one singing on that Italian bootleg (Shock Treatment, I suppose) is mr. Ozzy himself. I’m definitely not sure, but it’s a funny version ain’t it? Namechecking T? bandmembers during the verses, blablabla…
Cheers,
T.W.

Re: Top-10 albums of all time in Chit-Chat
Better reply now than never. Here it goes, I gave this A LOT of thinking, it’s in CHRONOLOGICAL order and T? didn’t make it to the list.
BEATLES - Abbey Road (1969)
BEACH BOYS - Sunflower (1970)
FUNKADELIC - Standing On The Verge Of Getting It On (1974)
PARLIAMENT - The Clones Of Dr. Funkenstein (1976)
PARLIAMENT - Motor Booty Affair (1978)
CLASH - London Calling (1979)
STEVIE WONDER - Hotter Than July (1980)
METALLICA - Master Of Puppets (1986)
PIXIES - Doolittle (1989)
SNOOP DOGGY DOGG - Doggystyle (1993)
Pretty diverse, ain’t it? It’s to give a complete picture of course. For instance, Doggystyle isn’t of course one of the best albums of all-time, but I’m really into hip-hop and this is the only obe I can listen to from the first to the last second. George Clinton has an amazing three albums in my list. Okay. finally some titles that didn’t make it for now,
MARVIN GAYE - What’s Going On THERAPY? - Nurse RADIOHEAD - OK Computer PANTERA - Far Beyond Driven DR.DRE - The Chronic BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN - The River QUEEN - Sheer Heart Attack N.W.A. - Straight Outta Compton TROCKENER KECKS - Een Op Een Miljoen ICE CUBE - Death Certificate BAD RELIGION - No Control and of course a few albums by the same artists as in my top 10 list (More Clinton?).
Cheers.
