Re: Who should do new T? remixes. in General Therapy? Topics

On the subject of mixes/remixes - is there a list of existing Therapy? mixes compiled anywhere? I know they’re not popular with everyone but I like a good remix every now and then, and would especially be interested in hearing songs like Screamager re-done.

Cheers,

So they’re both playing full-length sets? That’s something, but I’m still interested to know who’s on first.

doesn’t a therapy? greatest hits album require all those songs to have been released as singles, and presumably to have made it reasonably high into the charts?

Then make it a “Best Of”

Belfast Post-Mortem in Therapy? Live

Title: Belfast Post-Mortem

I have to say that I haven’t felt so alive in a such a long time as I did when I left the gig last night. That said, I have never felt so drained as I do this morning.

The gig itself was amazing - the Mandela Hall was a great venue again, the crowd were up for it (and one of the friendliest crowds I’ve seen) and the band seemed to be having the time of their lives.

I can’t remember the set list, but it wasn’t startlingly different from the recent set lists posted here. Teethgrinder did get played (in the encore I think.) In fact, I’d say the only change from the Dublin set was Teethgrinder for Stand In Line (well I’m assuming Stand In Line wasn’t played - don’t recall hearing it and I didn’t think I was that drunk!) Dublin setlist is available in this thread… http://www.therapyquestionmark.co.uk/wallofmouths/showthread.php? … eadid=3301

Was a little disappointed that I couldn’t get right to the front but some people are a little anal about not letting anyone else have a bit of a look in.

Big hellos to everyone I pulled up off the ground, and big thanks to everyone who pulled me off the ground.

Really looking forward to the DVD coming out. Thankfully I can’t recall any “You Fat Bastard” chants - which would have been plain embarrassing if it had ended up on DVD.

Great night - cheers lads!

P.S. Neil was fucking superb

It’s probably always better to get a taxi though.

Completely disagree - I feel perfectly safe in the city centre - not so safe off the Lisburn Road. Different strokes for different folks :-)

Just thought it was better to be on the safe side - with people coming from the mainland and maybe further afield for the gig, I would rather they didn’t walk around at night - wouldn’t be the first time people picked on tourists.

I’m sorry to play the “scary Belfast” card, but is it really wise to be walking down Tates Avenue after the gig? The area isn’t exactly renowned for friendliness.

If you’re going down there, I suggest you take a taxi - a pain in the arse I know, but probably a lot safer.

how far is the venue from Belfast port? thast where i arrive, will I need to get a taxi or train?

It’s probably between 1.5 and 2 miles from the docks. You’ll be covering a fair bit of the distance if you walk to the train station, so just get a taxi.

I don’t think it matters what door you go in, as long as you head down to the basement you’ll get there. Let’s face it, you’ll know exactly where it’s all happening - follow people, or check where the noise is coming from.

Anyone got any tips re getting from Belfast International Airport to the venue? Bus/taxi etc.

Hmmm, a quick Google and (from the BIA website): “The Airbus service operates between the airport and Belfast city centre every 30 minutes, Monday to Saturday, and at 30 or 60 minute intervals on a Sunday. This service operates between 0545 hrs and 2320hrs.”

There’s a map of Belfast City Centre here: http://www.tourism.belfastcity.gov.uk/pdfs/belfmap.pdf

The Airbus service should go to the Europa Bus Centre (marked as Great Victoria Street Station on that map.) To get to the gig, walk south along Great Victoria Street, through Shaftesbury Square, up Bradbury Place, onto University Road. The map URLed above includes a marking for both the International Youth Hostel and the Students Union (where the gig is at.) Plus if you open it in Acrobat, you can search for text to find where the streets are.

Hope that helps,

3 words - LONELY, CRYIN’, ONLY

Never was there a better song. It’s both tuneful and powerful. Has fantastic lyrics. An amazing singalong chorus. I think it captures Therapy? perfectly, especially live.

Other tracks I think would suit the DVD include: -
Safe
Sister
Little Tongues First
Hellbelly
Turn
Jam Jar Jail
Jude the Obscene
Misery

Just got my tickets this evening. I asked in the shop, where I was told I could only buy them from the bar staff in the Bunatee (downstairs.) Wasn’t hard grabbing a barman and asking for them.

Anybody else in Belfast noticed a couple of fly posters attached to bins. No words on them but they’ve got the Therapy? question mark in red on white. I think it’s no co-incidence.

Re: New Record.. in General Therapy? Topics

Overall it’s a good record, with a few misses.

“Hey Satan - You Rock” rolls along nicely for a while, but is dragged on a bit too much.

“Who Knows” is a great track, with a fantastic singalong chorus

“Stand In Line” is a grower - initialliy I wasn’t keen, but it’s getting tehre. Still feel the chorus isn’t quite right.

“Nobody Here But Us” is very strange. I hear it and think of Cracker. Again, another great chorus (singalong,) and could be a fantastic single.

“Watch You Go” starts a little too punky, but soon sounds a bit like “Nowhere” and feels just right.

“If It Kills Me” is an absolutely fantastic track. Can’t say more than that.

“Not In Any Name” is a slightly different pace - pretty much needed at this point.

“My Voodoo Doll” seems to be popular with a lot of people, but I’m honestly not as keen as others.

“Limbo” is another cracker. Quiet enough start into quite a rocker.

“Last Blast” I find is a bit crap to start with, although it does get better to a certain extent.

“Rust” - I’m not mad about - seems to drag on too long. It almost seems out of place on this album - probably would have been better on Suicide Pact.

“Never Ending” starts off like some thing by Status Quo, but soon picks up. I swear that on my first listen I was about to consign this to the “never-going-to-hear-again hidden-track” department but I’ve since gone to the effort of MP3ing the last track as two individual songs so that I can skip straight to this track every time.

Overall High Anxiety is a good album - took a lot of listens for me. Think that’s because “If It Kills Me” sounds like it’s right off Semi-Detached, and I’d gotten the idea in my head that we were getting Semi-Detached 2.

It’s not as heavy as Suicide Pact, and it’s more melodic than Shameless. It’ll always be hard for any Therapy? album to supercede Troublegum, Infernal Love and especially Semi.

Of course, I’m probably a “lighter” fan than a lot of Therapy? fans - I’m more of a rock fan than a metal fan.

As always, your mileage will most certainly vary :-)
