I saw an interview with Scott Weiland recently where he stated that he has to tour constantly now to make money as record sales in general are down, and presumably royalties due to cheaper prices of cds/legal downloads, so based on that it seems gigs and merch are where the money is at.

Iron Maiden’s management company pioneered the 360 degree model, which seems to be the norm now, where everything is pushed to maximise revenue as cd sales no longer provide a decent income source.

Basically the days of being just a recording artist are over so it’s not surprising t-shirts are more than a cd.

I was wondering the same, too. Or at least have him in an interview with just one other band member. When the full band’s being interviewed the focus is usually Andy, and secondly Michael. It’s understandable in part, as they’re the founding and original members, but I’d like to hear Neil’s thoughts more as he’s an articulate and friendly man. Not to mention a savage on the drums.

I love Nurse, always have. It is the only recording of theirs that possibly could be improved soundwise by a little boost, but that’s not to say I haven’t been listening to it regularly for 20 years!

I’m a huge fan of T?’s b-sides. Some real gems have been released on the singles. I went through bit of an obsessive e-bay phase about 7-8 years ago buying the singles and getting the non album songs. Hopefully the extras will be released at some stage.

Arse biscuits. Was all set to cancel my pre order and just get it in a shop when I saw my order is being ‘processed’. Probably mean it’ll be middle of next week when I get it.

Mmm… should have ordered from Global. I’m sure this’ll be in HMV on Friday and Play have yet to ship.

I used Play for years when I lived in Barcelona. Never any problems. Usually arrived with 5 days of ordering.
