Re: How could they?! in Other Bands & Artists

I hate this band. The first time I ever heard them was on a listening post here in Barcelona and after halfway through the first song I quickly hurried along. He was singing about his living room becoming a boxing ring or something. I guess it was a ‘domestic abuse’ song, but the lyrics sounded so infantile.

Plus they’re so calculating in what they do, one of those ‘Ten Year Plan’ bands Andy sings about.

“Tickets - 65 Euros General Admission (including 5 euro Booking Fee)”

Once again, welcome to rip off Ireland. I’ll probably be going to the three day Primaverasound festival in Barcelona in May and it’s €75 for the 3 days.

Having said that, it sounds like a fucking good show, and if T? were added it’d justify (barely) the outragious price.

Re: Edwin Collins has a brain hemmorhage in Other Bands & Artists

While never a big fan, he always seemed (past tense? hope not) a good bloke. I remember him on ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ a few years back and he just wiped the floor with comedian Jeff Green and his ‘student humour’. Funny stuff.

Re: Velvet Revolver in Other Bands & Artists

When I saw VR I thought they were class. Slash is a nutcase on stage, always moving, which was a surprise cos he’s so laid back in interviews.
A couple of my mates met him a year or two back and said he was sound, no pretentions, real friendly and just strollin around like an ordinary Joe Soap, not a bodyguard in sight.

Re: Jerry Cantrell in Other Bands & Artists

Can’t believe I found ‘Degradation Trip’ 2 cd version for €10. Fantastic. So far I like it. It certainly not happy stuff, but it’s good though!

Re: Jerry Cantrell in Other Bands & Artists

Cheers, I’ll probably get it fairly soon.

Jerry Cantrell in Other Bands & Artists

Title: Jerry Cantrell

I was listening to ‘Boggy Depot’ today for the first time in ages and got to wondering if ‘Degradation Trip’ was any good. I really liked ‘Boggy Depot’, so any thoughts on ‘Degradation Trip’? Namely the 2 disc version.

Re: KERBDOG… Reformed..?????? in Other Bands & Artists

True, €17.50 is nothing these days for a band with any kind of reasonable stature or reputation. I’ve paid more for lesser bands.

My main gripe would be having to spend time in Cork :D :D :D

Re: KERBDOG… Reformed..?????? in Other Bands & Artists

Nothing wrong with Wilt. Fucking great band in there own right, and Mick Murphy has always been a real friendly approachable chap.
I’ve no idea why Kerbdog got back together, but I’m glad they did. Everyone, no matter how big their record collection is, has those 4 or 5 bands whose albums they always return to, and Kerbdog was one of those groups for me.
Hopefully we now have two great bands in Kerbdog and Wilt who’ll continue to gig and put out great music.

Re: KERBDOG… Reformed..?????? in Other Bands & Artists

A damn enjoyable gig it was too?

Well worth the price of the flight.

All we need now is a new album!!!

Re: Alice In Chains reuniting for benefit in Other Bands & Artists

Always’ve been a big AIC fan. I’m sure Jerry Cantrell could handle the majority of the vocals. Should be interesting to see who they choose though.

Re: Anselmo talks about Dimebag in Other Bands & Artists

Man, I feel bad for the guy, he’s obviously distraught, especially as he never got to patch things up with Darrell.

Re: Asian Dub Foundation in Other Bands & Artists

When I went to see T? last year I was waiting for my mates to arrive. One was a T? fan the other was just up for a night out. Anyway, my non T? fan mate arrived first and was on the phone when he saw me. He was talking to some guy from the bank about something or other. So he tells the guy he had to go, he’s about to go in and see a gig. I guess the guy from the bank was being friendly and asked who was playing, my mate said:

“Therapy?, remember them?”

followed by

“Yeah me too, but there apparently still together”

and finally

“I think it was called Teethgrinder”

Wanker

Re: Aaahhh… black sabbath fans in Other Bands & Artists

That’s really sad, yet, very funny.

A new Sabbath album would probably do more harm to their legacy than anything.

Re: DRY RISE in Other Bands & Artists

Hey, we’re having a mini Wilt reunion :D .

It’s a real shame that the Wilt site is gone down. That seemed to be the only source of up to date Kerbdog info, especially as Darragh was taking time to post and keep us informed.

How annoyed do I get when people say that about T?? lol :D

I hate when people ask me what was the name of their album. I then have to explain they just released their tenth album.

Re: DRY RISE in Other Bands & Artists

Man, that’s a shame. Anyway, hope to see ya at the TBMC to scrounge a DR cd. I was Tony Montana on the wilt board, so I’ve already got one cd of you guys, most impressive!!

Re: skunk anansie in Other Bands & Artists

I’m nearly 100% sure that I passed Skin on the street here in Barcelona about 3 weeks ago. It was about 8 in the morning and I’d just come off nightshift, so judgement wasn’t the best, but I really think it was her.

Anyway, Skunk Anansie, great band, sorely missed. Anyone got Skin’s album, if so, any good?

Re: band for fans of Therapy? and Kerbdog in Other Bands & Artists

Just to verify, if you like T? or Kerbdog, you’ll probably like dryrise too. I got a copy of their two track cd a few months back and it’s really very good. On the Wilt chatboard they were often favourably compared with the Wildhearts too, who I know are generally looked on favourably on this site (wow, I said favourably twice in one sentence).
