Re: One hundred albums you should remove from your collection in Other Bands & Artists
I’ve got 23 of those albums, and there’s about another 7 which may join the list in the years to come. Ah well…

Apparently they’re headin on a world tour next year, they’ll probably leave out Ireland again though, like alot of bands. Damn
I moved to Barcelona a few years back and in the first week I was here Depeche Mode played. Great gig, one of the main reasons I went to see them though was, as you pointed out, they never play Ireland. I reckon they’d fill the Point Depot.

Re: Faith No More in Other Bands & Artists
I’m such a fan of Faith No More, one of the best ever (fuck off Beatles)
Fave album is ‘King for a Day…’
Like Alan I thought ‘Angel Dust’ was a little over-rated, but all the albums were great (well maybe ‘We Care a Lot’ wasn’t so great).

Re: pro-pain in Other Bands & Artists
I’ve got “Foul Taste Of Freedom” which is a very good album. I never bought anything after that cause the some of the singing was a bit ‘death metally’ and that’s not really my thing. Good to see there still making music though.

And there was I thinking “Fuck, I’d love to hear the original of Meat Abstract” :D
Although ‘Whiskey in the Jar’ is a cover as far as I know.

He’s gonna be writing his ‘Story Behind The Songs’ section for this album soon, I guess that will explain.
Nice, I look forward to that.
Of topic, the T? lads write up an awful lot of band diarys and the like for this site, not many bands do that, so I believes kudos are due, rispect!!!!

Lipstick Traces always looked the more enticing to be honest. Reckon I’ll get that.

Re: New Manics Album Information in Other Bands & Artists
Cheers, I’ve seen the 2cd Forever Delayed in shop recently and it got me thinking as to whether it was buying or not. I’ll probably give it a miss and for Lipstick Traces instead.

Re: New Manics Album Information in Other Bands & Artists
I’ve got a question/need an opinion.
I’ve got most of the Manics albums, and no doubt will be plugging a few holes when the usual budget back catalogue that accompanies a new release hits the shelves.
But what I was wondering was if getting the Forever Delayed with the bonus disc of remixes was worth it? As I have most of the songs already, what did more devoted Manics fans think of the extra disc?
Finally, (and I’ll probably definitely pick this one up at some stage) what did you guys think of ‘Lipstick Traces’?

Re: best cover songs ever? in Other Bands & Artists
Gimme Danger - Therapy? (fuckin rocks)
Hey Yaa - The Twilight Singers
Loverman - Metallica (the high point on a distictly average covers album)
Search and Destroy - Red Hot Chili Peppers (that’s two for the Stogges)
Breaking the Law - Therapy?

Re: Top Ten Rock Albums. in Other Bands & Artists
In no particular order as they come to me (could be different tomorrow)
Faith No More - King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime
Afghan Whigs - Gentleman
Kerbdog - Kerbdog
Guns n Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Pixies - Doolittle
Primus - Frizzlefry
Whipping Boy - Heartworm
Therapy? - Troublegum
Nirvana - In Utero
Various - The Crow OST
Like I said, if I were to do this tomorrow it’d likely contain 10 entirely different albums including the likes of Metallica, Anthrax, Sonic Youth, Iggy Pop, Bob Mould etc…

Re: Ash Meltdown in Other Bands & Artists
Both the album and bonus cd are very good. I know tacking on a bonus cd/dvd is a marketing tool and all that, but if more bands made their ltd. edition versions as good a quality as a full live cd I’d be happy buy these versions more often. ‘Meltdown’ is a v.good album!!!!!!

Stone Temple Pilots in Other Bands & Artists
Title: Stone Temple Pilots
What do you guys think of S.T.P ? Personally, I’ve always loved them and was pissed when they called it a day. To make things worse there was only one new song on the best of. But on the ltd. edition bonus DVD there is so much stuff such as all their vids and live performences, it could have been released as a DVD to be sold by itself.
If you ever wanted to check them out, the best of is a good starting place, if you’re a fan already, spend a couple of extra quid and get the version with the DVD, it’s class.

Agreed, that Outkast song brought the fucking roof down. Let’s hope that it gets released on a b-side (bonus track) or something on a single.

Saw The Twilight Singers last night, and they were fan-fucking-tastic. Greg Dulli has a monster of a voice, pure soul. Great stuff!

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
I’ve been listening to St,Anger for a week now, and I’m afraid to say, it’s boring!!!! Honest, 70 odd miniutes of repetitive loudness. Metallica used to write great tunes, but not on this album, and the drums sound terrible.
I have a feeling I may have annoyed some people, sorry, but I just think the album’s a bit shitty.
