Re: What’s EveryOne watching in Chit-Chat
Where do you download Lost from?
It’s won’t be on here (Spain) for months and can’t find a good site to watch the new series.

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists
Gutter Twins - Saturnalia. As mentioned above it’s a grower, but in the best sense.
Mark Lanegan - Bubblegum
Richard Cheese - The Sunny Side Of The Moon

Fair play to you. Not only did you get the song played, but a good mention for the band.
Top stuff!

Re: Money money money in Chit-Chat
At the moment I live overseas (Spain), but will be returning to Ireland soon. I’ve bought a flat here only because it’s cheaper than renting and I’ll get my money back once I sell the place. My plan is to get a decent job, buy a place at home and have that as a ‘base’ from which I can still go travelling and live my life etc… A mortgage is only slavery if you let it be. We all need a roof over our heads, so it’s just a choice you have to make, live with your parents, rent or buy.
I do agree with the initial sentiment though, enough money to cover the essentials and little left over to give you some breathing space is all a person needs. Constantly chasing wage increases, promotions and so on don’t really provide extra happiness.

Re: Dublin Holiday in Chit-Chat
Thomas Reid’s on Dame St. is a good bar.
Hogan’s on George’s St. is also a nice bar.
As mentioned above, Foggy Dew, Whelan’s and Bruxelles are all good bars.
And I have to help promote my mates’ gig on the 23rd.

Re: The Killers in Other Bands & Artists
Much prefer Sam’s Town to Hot Fuss. I tend to be in the minority about that though, just think it’s a more cohesive album.

Jagers is evil, man. The only time I drank it I ended up getting arrested. Have refused it ever since. Bad bad drink!

Re: what was the last gig you went to? in Chit-Chat
Ha ha, I know what you mean. I did just go to the gig more as an excuse for a few beers with a mate of mine. Gig was very good though and they are very strong live and unlike Ian Brown (who I am a fan of) Burgess can sing live.
Got me wondering, if The Charlatans can get a close to sell out gig on a wednesday in Barcelona, surely Therapy? could too, and their albums are just as easy to find here. T? haven’t played here for years, certainly not since I moved here in 2001, just as Shameless was being toured.

Re: what was the last gig you went to? in Chit-Chat
Saw The Charlatans last week in Barcelona. Not really a huge fan of theirs, but the gig was really very good.

Re: Bands that I hate!!! in Other Bands & Artists
I remember going to see Therapy? in Mcgonagles in Dublin and then, the next thing you know, following the release of Babyteeth their entire audience had changed and I didn’t like it. But that’s me, I’m an eleitist pig and begrudge anyone the right to ‘sellout’.
I jest, of course. Do agree with comment about the Manics though. Had a very similar experience as Dennis. Met some people at a Manics gig on that tour, people who I know for a fact own at least one Boyzone cd.
BTW, I hate Boyzone.

Agreed and agreed. Tokyo Hotel have spread to Spain too. Never thought that is was possible to have a watered down version of The Rasmus, how wrong I was.
Craig David is just a pillock. His music sucks and in interview it’s like listening to a braindead teenager (no offense teenagers who post on this board), only now he’s going bald and has a little potbelly.

£50?! I hate how expensive gigs are these days.
Alas, Ireland is probably the most expensive place in Europe to see a gig. The main promoter here is MCD and they basically have a monopoly. I live in Spain and got my QOTSA ticket here for €23. In Dublin I believe it costs €45. Total rip off.
Back on topic, haven’t heard the new album, but have been listening to Radiohead a lot lately, so will pick up a copy in the next few days.
