Re: Films that should have been great, but… in Chit-Chat

I think Nicholas Cage is alright - an Oscar winner, no less. He just makes some staggeringly shit movie choices! He was great in ‘Raising Arizona’ (I know that was 20 years ago), ‘Adaptation’ and ‘Matchstick Men’. But for every one of those there’s at least a ‘National Treasure’…

Erm, this is one of my favourite places in Bavaria, where I’ve recently moved…

Not wanting to get myself in trouble, but…

Yeah, so she may be hot there, but

a) that’s 8 years ago. I have about half as much hair now as I did in 1998, and I no longer go to school.

b) she’s had at least 2 kids since then, so she’s unlikely to still look like that in her negligĂ©, particularly as she’s now 38.

(Waits for torrent of deserved abuse from female quarters)

Re: Bass Players in Chit-Chat

I had an argument with sb about that once, I said it was self-indulgent outside of a G3 gig to do a 10-minute solo, and she said if the guitarist can play that well, why shouldn’t he be allowed to show off how well he can play? To which I remarked that the only gig she had been to was Eminem, and one of her favourite albums was ‘Brothers In Arms’. In response to which she shut her mouth.

Jesus, Claire Sweeney! Nathalie Cassidy looks like she was butchered at birth!

Kick in the teeth or poke in the eye with a sharp stick?

Opal Fruits, of course! Besides, they’re called Starburst Fruity chews now. And they’ve got rid of lemon flavour!

Megadrive or SNES?

i mean…how hard can it be?!

Nah, they’d surely have trouble getting the gallop right without a plectrum!

I always used to stress it just before my piano exams, more than I did/do over my academic ones. The Associated Board Grade Exams - why? When it came down to it, they weren’t that important, all they ever proved to me was that I could play piano to an ‘official’ level! I guess I was just worried that my mum had spent 10 quid a lesson and it’d be seen as a waste of her money if I failed!

That’s ridiculous! Isn’t it something ridiculous like 20% that have AIDS in South Africa, it’s something scary anyway! And aren’t we facing a population crisis anyway…?

NW England, about an hour north of Manchester.

I always wondered the same thing about me, I concluded that it was because I resembled the Elephant Man in everything but name! But thankfully this year I’m starting to redress the balance… ;)

Re: o hurrah in Chit-Chat

I heard that Lancaster had the highest suicide rate of any uni in the UK, from Lancaster students as well! Something to do with all the concrete, I heard. And I’ve seen it, it’s very concretey.

Slightly off the thread, but did anyone ever play the Blade Runner computer game, the interactive movie-type one? That was the mutt’s nuts!

Re: funeral songs in Chit-Chat

Slayer ‘Hell Awaits’ (good choice)
Corrosion Of Conformity ‘Dance Of The Dead’ (just for the beginning bit where he shouts “YOU’RE DEAD!!!!!”)
The Jam ‘Going Underground’ :D
…and of course, AC/DC ‘Highway To Hell’.

The middle bit of ‘Creeping Death’ would be good too… :p
