Re: Why was Andy left out???? in General Therapy? Topics

I think it was an interview he did with Mörat where he complained about being in Europe complaining about paying money to play to “a bunch of people who MIGHT buy our record”. Also claiming he’d seen the entire world, so touring was no longer interesting to him. Etc etc.

I’m a big fan of 2112 and Fly By Night.

Re: what position did OCFA enter at? in General Therapy? Topics

Well, I would have bought it in England like I’ve done the others (mainly because I still lived there), but I couldn’t bear waiting for the postage time! So that’s one fewer UK sale accounted for. And I’m assuming the 1488 only applies to those chart-registered shops, not the little mungo ones. You shouldn’t forget too, that Therapy? are up against the bands who get their records in Tescos so that idiots can go round and go “ooh, David Gray” when they’re buying their Corn Flakes rather than setting foot inside a record shop and seeing the alternatives.

Title: Official OCFA reviews? (merged)

Anyone seen any OCFA reviews yet? I’m assuming with it being a bank holiday weekend in the UK last weekend the journos were too lazy to put it in last week, and I’m assuming it’ll probably only be rock mags and fanzines now, but anyone read one yet?

Re: OCFA what do you think? in General Therapy? Topics

Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP ALL OF YOU!!!

Some of us can’t afford it til we get paid on Friday!

Anyone know if it’s easy to find in Germany? I’m still getting used to the fact that actual MUSIC shops are pretty hard to come across, it’s mainly divisions of electrical stores/chemists. Odd.

Still, you’re all bastards and I hate you. I’m off to download it off Limewire. Ahem. ;)

Ah, because we’re older than you, and we’ve learnt to be cynical about everything, whether we like the item/concept etc or not. It’s the way of things.

I think the bile rose in my throat for the first time aged 17, when Limp Bizkit’s popularity eclipsed that of the vastly superior Deftones.

Actually, who am I kidding? I raged against Oasis when I was a die-hard Maiden fan aged 11…

*Back to topic*

Fall Out Boy is Radioactive Man’s sidekick in the Simpsons. And the band sucks. I feel like I’m getting old, I’m only 22 (and 11 twelfths), but I just don’t like most of the stuff coming out now. It seems to just be pseudo-Iron Maiden or pseudo-Clash/Jam.

Not wanting to get myself in trouble, but…

Yeah, so she may be hot there, but

a) that’s 8 years ago. I have about half as much hair now as I did in 1998, and I no longer go to school.

b) she’s had at least 2 kids since then, so she’s unlikely to still look like that in her negligé, particularly as she’s now 38.

(Waits for torrent of deserved abuse from female quarters)

Re: Bass Players in Chit-Chat

I had an argument with sb about that once, I said it was self-indulgent outside of a G3 gig to do a 10-minute solo, and she said if the guitarist can play that well, why shouldn’t he be allowed to show off how well he can play? To which I remarked that the only gig she had been to was Eminem, and one of her favourite albums was ‘Brothers In Arms’. In response to which she shut her mouth.

I live right next to the Theresienwiese. And as luck would have it, I’m in the UK from the 12th to the 20th.

Shatterproof is not a challenge

I love Ideas above our station but I bought the 2nd album cos I thought I should and it was wank.

Milo goes to College by the Descendents - I think I’ve listened to it once

The new one’s quite good though, lucky, cos if they’d released another Shatterproof, I would’ve given up on them!

I think T? albums are always high in quality of tune no matter what singles they put out. There are plenty of bands who have good singles but the albums are average - Queen, Faith No More, A, to name a few.

Faith No More? Hmm, dunno bout that, except maybe Album of the Year. And the Chuck Mosely ones, of course!

Re: More German shows in 2006 in Therapy? Live

Title: Ha bloody ha

Right. So I moved to Munich from the UK in September, and pretty much had to get used to the fact that I’d be unlikely to see most of my favourite bands again, UK-based as they are.

So then Therapy? announce a date in Munich. IN THE WEEK I AM BACK IN THE UK. RAGE!!!!!!

Opal Fruits, of course! Besides, they’re called Starburst Fruity chews now. And they’ve got rid of lemon flavour!

Megadrive or SNES?

I have just one word (alright, two)… Steve Harris! Where would Maiden be without him!

OMG ! U2 Have a riff that sounds like Therapy?

THEY MUST HAVE STOLEN IT.

I think we were having a discussion on the 3CR board when that song came out that it sounded suspiciously like an old 3CR b-side, ‘Yellow Hair Carriage’ I think. Which was given weight by Radio 1 doing a ‘breakfast with U2’ thing, where they had some CDs on them, and amongst was a 3CR one. But that’s getting into spurious Columbo territory…

As for album titles, fuck knows. ‘Virtual XI’. Let’s just hope it’s nothing like as bad as that album! How was it Johnny Rotten described themselves when the Sex Pistols played Finsbury Park on their reunion tour? ‘Fat, Forty and Back’? Howzat?

I think this is the first time I’ve posted for 18 months or sth. Probably explains why I’m rambling like someone that’s been trapped in a cupboard for a year and half…

Re: Listen to 3 songs from NANE in General Therapy? Topics

Hmm. Those tracks are… ok. I did like Rise Up, but though I like Joy Division, This Ship Is Sinking was a bit poo IMO. I dunno what I was expecting from the album, but while these tracks aren’t bad (and I’m also willing to allow for the shitness of Realplayer sound), I think if the other 10 were of this standard I’d be a bit disappointed with the album.

This is an opinion after one listen, mind! Still really looking forward to the album!

Re: Sony Music buys Eagle Rock… in General Therapy? Topics

A buy-out is BAD!!!

Sony just bought Music For Nations, and it seems effectively closed it down. Opeth and Anathema are just two bands without a label now. And MFN were the band that brought us Metallica in the UK. I worry about he majors buying the few indies left…
