Re: BBC Sessions - music through a cheap transistor in General Therapy? Topics
My 2c regarding iTunes …
I have a Creative mp3 player, but still use iTunes. The shop is grand for what I need, & I use it to rip cds.
I purchase/download an album, & then convert it to mp3 using Tunebite easily. (http://www.tunebite.com). The licence cost 15 (£10), well worth it with the amount (& ease) of converting the files.
I’m told dbpoweramp will convert m4a/aac to mp3 if you download the plugin for it. And its free, but I was told this after I got Tunebite. I’m not sure how easy/difficult a program it is to use …

THERAPY? One Cure Fits All Spitfire/Eagle Rock
3/5
There was a period when it seemed as if Therapy? were taking a long time in going nowhere. Certainly, their excellent, truculent early 1990s records (Babyteeth, Pleasure Death, Nurse) were very much a fond memory. Fast forward to 2003 (High Anxiety) and 2004 (Never Apologise Never Explain), and it seemed as if the band were imploding from lack of direction and melody. Good metal needs more than muscle (ask Metallica) and with One Cure Fits All it seems that Andy Cairns and colleagues have gone back to the drawing board and drafted in the kind of tunesmithery that has already proven an amenable addition to the likes of Queens of the Stone Age. Hence songs as strong as Deluded Son, Rain Hits Concrete, Private Nobody and Dopamine, Seratonin, Adrenaline (which has surefire anthem written all over its skinny, tattooed frame). Therapy? in good album shock? About time.

Did you notice how the whole Shameless era was breezed over?
Quite right too.
Highlight for me, was ‘Isolation’, with ‘She’s Lost Control’ in the middle of it.

Fall Out Boy in General Therapy? Topics
Title: Fall Out Boy
Found this while reading the NY Times Online. Sounds familiar, hey …
In the wake of Green Day, the year’s new punk-pop sensation was Fall Out Boy, which sold 1.65 million copies. The band has a sense of humor as snappy as its melodies, with song titles like “Champagne for My Real Friends, Real Pain for My Sham Friends.” But the perspective of its songs is proudly myopic and self-absorbed, as the songs concentrate almost completely on gripes about girl trouble and the music business.

I think you are all right in many ways, T? in Dublin is an annual event, they move venues (Ambassador / Village / Olympia), the crowd size is puzzling to me - varies from 1,000 - circa 600.
I’d fcuking love to see them in Vicar St.

Did anyone hear that story about Martin Freeman (Tim from The Office) when he was being interviewed by some guy in a Ramones t-shirt? He asked the guy interviewing him if he owned any Ramones albums, he didn’t, and then he asked him to name two Ramones songs and he couldn’t.
I actually saw that. It was on ‘Tim Lovejoy & the All Stars’, on Sky One.
When Lovejoy couldnt name 2 songs, Freeman kicked him with a “I thought so !”. Hero.
For those who dont know the twat that is Tim Lovejoy, check him out, just oozing Punk Attitude …

Of course the shirt is inspired by the Ramones, and to be honest, I designed it, maybe as a tribute to THE RMS, but the guys love it, and can you imagine how proud I am that they sell it as the “WEBSITE EXCLUSIVE”?
Damn, I´m proud!
I was at Idlewild in Dublin last night, wore the new Tshirt. First off, I had one guy tell me there was no ‘Micheal Ramone’ (!) then Idlewild dedicated a cover of ‘Sedated’ to the guy in the Ramones Tshirt.
