Re: Worst track on Troublegum? in General Therapy? Topics

I was never into Isolation. All the rest is great. It took me some time to like Unrequited but, hey, the cello bit is awesome. :)

Re: Hopes for a new T? Album ? in General Therapy? Topics

IMHO I’m pretty sure that the next record will not be ‘a second whatever’ but it will resemble NANE and OCFA more than the rest.

Re: Exclusive Therapy? webgig now available in General Therapy? Topics

I personally like the garage-like sytle of the sleeve, hand written serial number on the indside and all. It’s a self released thing, voted for by fans and dedicated to each fan singally, so I don’t bother it not shining like playboy’s centerfold.

And since the original order of the songs was merely based on the number of votes they got, I don’t mind the guys having changed it. Then I again, I haven’t burned it yet. Others who have might now have a CD or DVD on which the order of the songs doesn’t match with the sleeve and so have to to burn it again to get it accurate, which is a pity.

There is however one thing that I don’t like about the concept:
I think the webgig should have gotten some kind of title. When more webgigs come up, will it then be called the first webgig? The fan-favourite webgig? The red sleeved autographed webgig? (Is ‘the red album’ taken by any band?) A proper name would have bein nice IMHO.

OK, done with my my rant ;)

No offence, everyone’s memory is playing tricks on them from time to time ;) Just wanted to react as when I read you comment, I thought Marko came out as a wanker. I think though that’s not the way you wanted to sound. As far as I know Marko he’s a nice guy, he’s one of those WoMbles I’ve always wanted to meet. It’s just that the fire is gone for him…

I did by no means intend to offend Marko or say anything bad about him. I shouldn’t have used his closing his site in my post in the first place … sorry again … let’s just move on ;)

@soul doubt

Uhm, yeah ou’re right. I read his closing note a while ago and obviously misremembered large parts of it. Sorry! Supid Me…

However I see the point I was trying to make confirmed by all the aother answers to this thread - T?s albums are so different to each other that you just have to give them a spin. Expectation are monot of much use. ;)

Re: maybe there’s no therapy for me after all? in General Therapy? Topics

My humble opinion:

There are as many different opinions on Therapy?’s albums as there are members on this forum.

Never Apologize was celebrated by many as maybe their best album ever; On the other hand, e.g. a guy called Marko Jii even closed his Therapy? fan-website because T?’s new stuff doesn’t appeal to him at all.

I’m a big Troublegum - fan, too. Love that record. Best thing they’ve ever done imho. But they’ve never done anything like troublegum after that. Would I want them to do another troublegum? Hell No! It wouldn’t be Therapy? if they did the same thing twice. (I needn’t tell you - you know the follow-ups to Troublegum).

Suicide Pact is a weird, experimental album.

Shameless is full of straight riffs and rhythms. Sort of Punk Rock with not so much melody.

High Anxiety has some sort of Pop/Punk-ish songs. Very melodic, maybe too pop.

NANE then, is raw and unpolished. Not exactly heavy, just wild. Totally different from HA.

Then, OCFA has a lot of riffs an melodies. But not like the stuff on Troublegum or HA, it’s just OCFA.

I don’t think therapy? have lost themselves. They’ve changed every time they put out a record. It depends on one’s personal taste if you like their stuff or not.

There’s always a reason to give the latest T? record a try. Even if you didn’t like the last one - you can be shure the new one’ is different … again. :D

I agree. I cannot see any flaw it the production, it totally fits the songs in my humble opinion.

Re: dresden dolls in Other Bands & Artists

Another old thread revived …

A while ago I saw the Dresden Dolls perform ‘Backstabber’ on MTV (Sarah Kuttner’s Show) and i was impressed! It’s interesting and catchy and the drums are excellent! (stupid costumes though, but what the heck). I bought the song this morning from napster. I think I gotta give the rest of the album a try this afternoon in some record shop.

Back - stabberBack - stabberBack - stabberBack… :D

Re: Exclusive Therapy? Webgig in General Therapy? Topics

teethgrinder, screamager, die laughing, nowhere are songs they play every gig. Knives and If It Kills Me are songs they’ve played frequently over the last three years. All of them are on the DVD.

Who the hell voted for them?

My guess is it’s people who 1. hardly now more than troublegum AND 2. thought the gig would be for free.

Guys, I’m disappointed, honestly. And it’s not that I don’t like troubvlegum - it’s my favourite T? album…

Suing God, Skyward and Sister.

Re: Famous Fans in General Therapy? Topics

“Die Ärzte” are T? Fans. Most of you guys won’t know them but they’re really big in Germany. Months ago they were to pick an hour of videos for an Austrian music tv station and they ONLY played T? tunes (I can’t remember whos posted it back then)
Their guitarist covers Nowhere when he plays live shows with his solo project. I have a live version of it with him saying:

“This was a tune by Therapy? from an album called Troublegum than one should own and I mean bought, not burned. Bear that in mind”

They’re wellknown for advertising bands they like.

Re: What was the first and/or last song you heard by therapy?? in General Therapy? Topics

First one was Knives back in 94 when a friend of mine played Troublegum to me for the first time. I later bought the CD from him.

Last one was some OCFA.

Yep that’s right, Germans usually don’t have credit cards. Neither do I. Noone I know does. The only purpose for a credit card that I could think of is to by a Therapy? download only single…
