Hey Krisken then tell your mates that when they have an issue to show some damn respect.
There are a hell of a lot of Americans who complain and fucking whinge that a certain band is not coming to their town. Shut up you prick and take a look at the people who are homeless before you complain about your very high financial status. A bilion people on this planet survive on a dollar a day. Shut up!
Since when does it look like Americans earn 40000 dollars a year?? And where? What garbage!
My mates? WTF are you talking about? I don’t even know these people, just as you don’t. I’m not the one saying “X nationality, you’re complainers”. This is the equivilant of if I had heaped any trouble the IRA caused onto your shoulders. It’s absolutely absurd and mind numbingly obtuse.
Oh, you’re right, I absolutely don’t know what the rest of the world has or doesn’t have. However, since this thread has NOTHING to do with poverty, what I give to charity, or the F’ing price of tea in China, you are way off topic.
I wasn’t complaining about my financial status. I was stating a situation where buying cd’s is a luxoury I won’t indulge in when the price is twice as high because I do like eating each day. Hell, I don’t buy ANY music now since I’d rather be able to buy necessities like clothing, food, and pay my bills. I ask for no help, and I recieve no help. Get off your high horse already.
Sidenote: There’s this mentality that America is the land of plenty. We have a lot here, I admit. Don’t think for a second that it’s any different than there though. There are crappy poor area’s here, and disgustingly rich people on the other end of the spectrum. The distance is quickly growing as production jobs leave the area for foriegn markets and are replaced with service jobs, which pay much less.
So as an end statement. I love Therapy?. Supported them since Troublegum. Although I won’t be able to buy their albums in the future (unless I can go the route of ITunes), I want nothing but the best for the band and hope they are able to release many albums in the future. I understand they can’t tour the entire world, and touring here wouldn’t be feasable in any case as the record companies are only interested in the current uber-money success which = pandering to crap. Keep rocking out and enjoying yourselves. You guys have been f’d around by record companies so often it’s not even funny, and yet you still keep kickin ass all the more for it. It’s why I’ve stuck around here as long as I have. Take care, and good luck.
Bye all.

To the Americans quit wanting everything all the fucking time, you guys get a lot of things already and you are very luckyt for the things you have.
Wow, that was totally unnecessary.
You know, just because it looks like everyone in America is making $40 grand a year doesn’t mean they are. Some of us make $22 grand and have to choose where the little bit of extra cash we have goes. Don’t be a prick.
Just because we’d like to get the T? cd’s doesn’t mean we’re all greedy gimme gimme’s. Stop lumping nationalities into a stereotype.

I never saw that site before Superunknown, so now (when they are done doing maintenance) I’ll have to do some searching for Soul Coughing and some other video’s. Very cool.

6 days until Oblivion ships out. Here’s hoping my local Gamestop will have it in by the 22nd. The game looks incredible.

The last thing this country needs is a gun culture like the US - look how fucked up things are there.
Except Canada has more guns per person than the U.S. and very very few homicides by them. When people say “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people”, it doesn’t mean that guns aren’t lethal. It means that when a culture is brought up to be afraid of everyone else and cope with hate, they are more likely to respond to that fear and hate with force.
Violence in culture through the media, my friends. Fear truly is a mind killer.

I’m 26, and I can’t imagine dating an 18 year old… not because of the age itself, but because of the difference in experiences and even the differences of what this kind of relationship would mean to each participant. I get hit on by 16 year olds (cause I look too damn young!), but wouldn’t consider for a second taking these young ladies out, simply because they havn’t had the experience as far as relationships go.
A lot changes in just a few years, eh?
It must have been not long after making that post that I met the lovely young lady I am currently engaged to marry in June. She persued me relentlessly, and I fought with myself constantly to not be with her, as she was 17 at the time. We spent a lot of time together, enjoyed the same things, talked, and realized that we are both looking for the same things in life.
Well, we’ll fast-forward to now. In July (11 months of dating) I asked her to marry me, and she said yes! We planned to get married in June of 2007, but plans got moved up a year, so June 20th, 2006 is the wedding date. I couldn’t be happier. She’s smart, creative (she’s in her first year of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago), and more beautiful than a guy with my mug certainly deserves!
Time has taught me that age doesn’t matter. So long as your emotional states are similar and you make certain that you are both looking for the same things in a relationship, age is only an issue if you let it be (barring legality issues, of course).

David Reilly (ex GLU frontman) dies at 34 in Other Bands & Artists
Title: David Reilly (ex GLU frontman) dies at 34
http://www.corporatepunishment.com/news/page/1/artist/David%20Reilly
“Monday October 17, 2005
Oct 17th, 2005 For Immediate Release
GOD LIVES UNDERWATER VOCALIST DAVID REILLY PASSES AWAY IN PA HOSPITAL.
Corporate Punishment is very sad to announce the passing of our good friend, God Lives Under vocalist David Reilly. Complications from an untreated infection are the reported cause of death for Reilly, who was pronounced dead around 5:15 AM on Sunday Oct 16th .
God Lives Underwater was established in 1995 and was quickly signed to Rick Rubins American Recordings. The group had the radio hit, From Your Mouth from their 1998 Interscope/1500 Release, Life In The So-Called Space Age, which was heralded as a cross between Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails.
Corporate Punishment Records released David’s first and only solo recording, the EP Inside in 2004. Recently, David signed with Ruff Nation/Universal who were slated to release his debut full length, How Humans Rx, in early 2006. ( Some of these recordings can be found on his myspace site at http://www.myspace.com/cprdavidreilly ) Unfortunately this will never happen, which might be one of the biggest travesties of all.
Corporate Punishment resident, Thom Hazaert, (affectionately dubbed the Rooster by Reilly) also spent a big chunk of the past few years serving as Reillys manager, most recently serving as a management and creative consultant.
I am honored and humbled to have had the chance to work with someone like him, an amazing artist and visionary, who in my eyes will always be one of the most talented people to ever walk the Earth, says Hazaert. David will remain forever in our hearts and will be sorely missed by everyone at CPR.
Reilly had spent much time in recent years speaking out about his longtime bout with substance abuse. He was 34.
o RIP David Reilly
Sunday October 16, 2005
I just received the devastating news that my brother and friend, and the first artist signed to Corporate Punishment, David Reilly, (who was also the singer and one half of one of the greatest and most underrated bands to ever exist, God Lives Underwater), passed away this morning, due to complications from longstanding stomach problems (We have since found out more information, and it was actually complications from an untreated infection). David had his demons just like everyone, and he lived his life the best he could.
Yeah he fucked up, and when he fucked up it was usually big. But I am honored and humbled to have had the chance to work with someone like him, an amazing artist and visionary, who in my eyes will always be one of the most talented people to ever walk the Earth.
We had the amazing pleasure of releasing David’s first and only official solo recording “Inside” last year, which we worked extremely closely on, and he had recently signed a deal with Universal to release a new solo record. (You can hear some of these recordings on his myspace at http://www.myspace.com/cprdavidreilly) Unfortunately this will never happen, which may be one of the biggest travestiesof all. And although he will remain forever in our hearts, David will be sorely missed by everyone at CPR.
Rest in Peace.

Re: deftones in Other Bands & Artists
Hm… I’d disagree with most of what was said so far. Adrenaline was good, Around the Fur was really good, and White Pony blew both of them out of the water. Didn’t care for Deftones self titled as I thought it wasn’t cohesive enough for me. It seemed to me that they took a step backwards in going back to the screaming fest typical of most metal bands. I’m more impress by singers that actually sing, I guess.
Though these are certainly opinions, and should be taken as such.

Re: Coheed and Cambria GAIBS4 in Other Bands & Artists
Like I said, the first two albums are stellar, and the 3rd one is growing on me slowly. I’m sure by the end of the week I’ll call this their best album.
This has been one of my favorite bands since I just happened to pick up Second Stage Turbine Engine at the local record shop in the Indy section.
I’m not sure if it’s there anymore, but they had a couple videos up on Launchcast for a while.

Coheed and Cambria GAIBS4 in Other Bands & Artists
Title: Coheed and Cambria GAIBS4
I just picked up the new Coheed and Cambria album today (even though it was released the 20th), and after a few listens I’m still unsure where to place this as far as whether it’s better than the other albums they have put out.
It certainly sounds like it was polished much more than In Keeping Secrets Silent Earth 3 and Second Stage Turbine Engine. At first this bothered me quite a bit, as the guitar seemed to have lost a lot of it’s edge that was present in those albums, but I’m starting to think it was the settings in the car I just bought, as when I put it in the CD player at home it doesn’t sound muted at all.
There’s definately more of a pop influence to this album than the other two.
Anyone else have any thoughts? I think I like it, but I’m still certain that IKSSE3 was the best album they’ve put out thus far.

I thought the movie was great, right up until the ending.
WARNING: SPOILER
What the hell was up with his son being at the house he was going to? Did anyone else feel like that was just too much of a happy ending? My fiance and I just looked at eachother and went “WHAT!”
Other than that, it was good.

Re: Land Of The Dead in Chit-Chat
I just got back from this movie, and I have to say that I loved it. Not too campy, and not too over the top horror.
Sure, there are the usual “jump at the quick attack” moments that are required, but you never feel that it dominates the movie above the characters involved.
After I got back to my friends house from the theatre, I got into my car and actually looked in back for a zombie.

Re: What Films Do You Hate? in Chit-Chat
Are we going for obviously bad, or over comercialized and bad?
For Obviously bad, I’d go with Manos, Hands of Fate. That’s some cringe right there. Critical Mass was awful as well, stealing scenes from T2 and another movie I can recall. When I say steal, I mean the actual footage.
I know I’ll catch a lot of flack for this one, but I can’t stand Scarface. I was bored to tears, and wished my head imploded when the credits finally rolled off.

My solution when it comes out on dvd- I’m going to watch it in chapters. That should help!

Well, I’m moving in 3 weeks, so I’ll give it a try when I get a new ISP. It just seemed like a whole lot of effort for a cd I hadn’t even heard a song off of (not that I doubt it’s good, I’m just very particular when it comes to music).
