Re: THE HITCHER movie remake… in Chit-Chat
The original film is great, but not sure how the remake will work. I actually think Bean is a good actor though, and may do a good job as ‘The Hitcher’

Yeah poor Liverpool fans being in the Premiership, Champions League and having 100’s of millions to spent in the summer. I don’t know how they cope, I really don’t

Re: Peter Jackson’s ‘Brain Dead’ in Chit-Chat
Bad Taste, Brain Dead and Meet The Feebles are all class. Early Peter Jackson is up there with Lord of the Rings, although slightly disturbing at the same time.

At the end of the day no one knows, I reckon you would of personally. The only reason suggesting that you guys wouldnt of is because you probably dont understand the play-offs like we do. It was your first time so you dont know what its like to lose 3 times like us, maybe next year if your in the play-offs and win the semis, you will run on the pitch and celebrate because you would have felt the pain of losing out like we have in the past.
I reckon I speak for a lot of Derby fans here in saying that I think this were a disgrace. When Burley was in charge of Derby we had a board from hell, and I have a lot of respect for him because I dont think many managers could of got Derby in the play-offs that season. Shame he left really but I think Billy Davies has done an equally if not better job.
Think we have just about sold out now, luckily Derby released another 700 tickets this afternoon and I managed to get one yes!!!.. Considering the distance between Southampton and Derby Im sure you will agree that these are pretty amazing figures for both teams, 5,000 Saints fans coming up to PP on a Tuesday tells me the Saints isnt small time, well done.
At the end of the day mate, Derby has enough rivals, Forest of course and Leicester. And then maybe Leeds and Sheff Utd. does there really need to be another one, especially with a team so far away? The only reason Ill be looking forward to playing Southampton next season (unlikely though cos were going up!!) is because from the evidence of the play-off matches they will be one of the strongest teams in the division next year..Look a nice Derby fan, can you believe it?
Chump I think you and some of the other fans should more like zipless and understand that its over and that Derby have some fans who are tw-ts just like everywhere else who are bound to of done what they did. There actually was trouble in the queuing for tickets on Sunday morning at Pride Park, fights breaking out through drunken chavs trying to jump the queue. Sad really.
p.s. It was quite funny hearing Idiakez getting booed when he came on. I went to the QPR match the other month and he got a good reception from the Derby fans then. Fans can be so fickle )
Of course we’ll never know as it didn’t happen, but I swear down it probably wouldn’t have happened. Yes we’ve got idiot fans as do all teams, but I’ve had problems with Rams fans before at Pride Park. Like the time we lost 1 nil when James Beattie scored that freak of own goal. At half time we were having a beer in the concourse and then all of sudden pints were chucked over the metal shutter dividing the fans covering us in beer. Another time was in a 0 - 0 towards the end of the 2000-2001 season a group of Derby fans wore Pompey shirts and kept taunting us from the home section. Yes this could happen at any ground, its just all 3 times I’ve been to your place I’ve walked away thinking what a bunch of idiots some of your fans are.
Fair enough and point taken with Burley.
Not bad at all, but I was slightly miffed that you didn’t sell your whole allocation, especially on a Saturday and with it being such a big game. Perhaps because you’ve played in the the play-offs before could be a factor.
Good and bad of everyone, and of course I have enough intelligence to know not all your fans are bad. For example after the game a dad and his little son came up to me and said unlucky. I shook hands with them both and wished them well at the time. The little lad then turned to his dad and shouted “WEMBLEY!” Little git ;)
Chavs, Chavs everywhere. Ours go by the name of ‘Southampton Yoof’ Need I say more
Aint that the truth. We boo almost every ex-player, but for Wayne Bridge. I tend not to boo though and save it for ex Pompey players.

Re: Football in Chit-Chat
I really don’t think Saints fans would have run on the pich at the end if it had been the other way round at St Marys. Just left a bad taste mouth to see loads of Derby lobbing up the V’s and wanker signs towards us after losing on penalties. Burley got pushed around a bit as well when he tried to clap our magnificent support. 5,000 on a Tuesday night, better than the 3,900 you took to ours on a Saturday. You gave 1,100 tickets back. Do you think you will sell out Wembley? Love you to stop down and us to put one over you BIG time next season and put those pitch invaders in their place. Jobs only half done Nobskunks.

What an awful game as well! Followed up by a good performance at Reading, although we lost 2 nil, and then a good 60 mins against Preston.
Only Newcastle away in the FA Cup today :D

I’m glad you enjoyed the game, shame for you about the result.
I agree you were good for the draw, but the game could have gone either way.
The penalty was justified as a penalty. I have seen some pictures. Micky was held down but 2 players, and there was a handball (for which I believe the pen was awarded). Having said that, I was supprised at the decision as most of those go un-noticed. We are having the run of the ball at the moment.
We were poor as well in the first half. Well I say poor, we were actually quite good at playing dire defensive crap which you play when winning away. It was awful to watch though. Both were better in the second half and we both had some chances, more than we usually get.
Your goalie should have saved our first goal and Romain Larrieu made a complete balls up for your goal. Romain did redeem himself and won the game with his save at the end. How he tipped it onto the bar AND got up to claim the follow up I’ll never know.
A good game which helpped us out a lot. I look forward to playing you next year! The sturrock episode has started a nice little rivalry, which has to be good for atmosphere at the ground. Somthing which has been lacking receintly.
How is your physio by the way?
Think we will agree to disagree on the penalty desicion, as no doubt you would think the same as me if it was given down the other end.
Jim Joyce our physio, wasn’t at the Derby game, so he must still be injured! Thanks for asking.
See you next season.
Keep the faith, Up the Saints!
Necastle 0 Southampton 1 today! HaHa

Re: Football in Chit-Chat
How about when you beat us 1 nil when BT scored that strange OG, when he kicked the ball a mile in the air only to see it drop under Paul Jones’s bar. I was there that day, rubbish.
Glad Peschisoldio isn’t playing tomorrow.

Re: Football in Chit-Chat
Glad to see Delap leave us. Nice 4 million you made from that. 4 million we paid for a guy who could only take throw ins. See you have Hajto now, he isn’t actually that bad, but it was RedKrapps signing and Burley didn’t rate him. Hopefully he will be shite tomorrow though, probably bloody score.
Oh well 12pm start on the beer tomorrow to blur my vision and make the game seem better is my plan.

I rememeber that as well and the 2 all the opening day of the season when we were 2 nil up. Also when we drew 3 - 3 at The Dell Pahars scored a screamer and Beck equalised 409 mins into injury time.

Very sad news that. True Romance is in my top 3 films of all time and although Penn only plays a small part in it, it’s a good part.
RIP Chris.

Re: Football in Chit-Chat
I went to the Argyle v Saints game GreenThing. The penalty was, well I’m lost for words, even Mickey Evans claimed a corner. Thought the first half was shocking on our part, but we came out well in the 2nd half and were good enough for a draw, especially with Kenwyne Jones hitting the bar at the end. Didn’t get home till 1.30am, well worth it!!
Oh well hope we can beat Derby at St Marys tomorrow. I have everything crossed.
Keep the faith.
