Re: Manchester 27/05/06 in Therapy? Live
I’m probably gonna do Manchester myself too and would be interested in any meet up.
Anyone going to be heading that way from the Sheffield area for a bit of company on the train?

Re: Have you guys tried any energy therapies? in Chit-Chat
I think it depends on what your wanting out of such therapies. Some people need that extra focus to help them take some downtime and that can have all sorts of positive benefits on the system.
When I was in China, I had a full Chinese medical massage thing which was absolutely fantastic. Left me feeling like I had a whole new body and so completely relaxed and refreshed. I think one of those on a regular basis would certainly improve my wellbeing.

Re: The people here in Chit-Chat
hmm well I know I don’t post very often, mostly because I can’t think of anything to say, but it’s never struck me as a bad message board. I’ve known worse. I think this place is very calm and friendly. And those I’ve spoken to away from this board seem to be pretty cool, easy going peeps.

Oh sometimes I hate them damn’ things. Actually thinking about getting me a second computer just for the internet/mail stuff which would then leave my main machine nice and clean and ready for work. I wonder if a lot of people do that…
The best way I’m aware of is to have a second machine running as a harware firewall - way more secure than using standard software ones like McAfee - and run your current machine as it is from behind that. The hardware firewall is just a very simple PC system which has just one function - to monitor all incoming/ outgoing traffic and block accordingly (you set this up). You’d connect to the internet as you normally do now, but it gets routed through the hardware firewall. Adds an extra barrier of protection.
I think these days you can actually buy standard hardware firewalls - a small box you put between your router and PC. Cheaper than buying a full pc but does the same job.
Also, for basic security, ensure you delete cookies and offline content regularly, and run a spyware checker such as Spybot regularly - this picks up loads of hidden spyware crap that sites like MySpace put on your machine (porn sites are the worst for this). They aren’t virus’s as such, but they do slow your system down and mess with internet browsers. And generally spyware does not get picked up by virus scanners as it’s not regarded as a threat to your data.
Finally - back your system up regularly. How often you do this depends on what you use your system for. If you are doing loads of important work - back up at least once a week.

I am finding mild amusement in the multitude of American Barbie doll/prom queen types posing for the camera, flashing a leg or cleavage, and with about 30 comments from blokes saying, “hey babes, you hot, hit me some time”.
I might start leaving cruel comments, see what they make of that.
The flash some flesh popularity contest that is MySpace does make me laugh. Especially the ones who make a point of saying they’ve had to restart their myspace thing so many times coz they keep getting lots of nutters contacting them!
Of course, I can talk as I’ve got a practically naked shot of my back on there but that’s purely for showing the tatt off - honest :D
