:D
That has to be one of the most bizarre things I’ve heard for a long time. Do you think they’ll add it to the new set?

Re: How old are Therapy? fans???? in General Therapy? Topics
I’m 30. I got hooked years ago when a friend gave me a copy of Nurse. Being old I’m not able to recall ages exactly but I was in 6th form at the time.
Does my son get the record as the youngest fan? He’s been listening since he was about 2 when he wouldn’t let us go into the car without taking So Much for the Ten Year Plan along with us. He’s 6 now and thinks the new album is brilliant. He’s now convinced he wants to be a drummer when he grows up.

Re: Most Depressive T? Song…??? in General Therapy? Topics
Gone
Takes me back to some very traumatic memories that happened that year and cuts far too close to the bone for my own comfort. Always makes me cry.
Having said that, I think it’s a fantastic track and listening to it now, it has a certain “pick me upness” about it because it reminds me of how far I’ve come since I was a screwed up 15 year old.

Re: where is martin in General Therapy? Topics
No they didn’t have a stand in (don’t know how they’d manage to get a replacement who knows all the relevant parts at such short notice). Thought it was a bit odd that they didn’t mention where he was though. Poor Martin - ear problems cause so much pain. Get well soon.

Chuffin hell! Forgot about the post strike! Think I’m gonna try buying it from a shop tomorrow and cancelling the amazon order.

Re: DVD delay in General Therapy? Topics
Hmm, I pre-ordered mine from amazon ages ago (I mean like back in September some time I think). Normally this means I get it within 24hrs of release. However, today they are telling me my estimated delivery is between 7th and 11th November! Something has gone very screwey somewhere here.

Re: DVD question in General Therapy? Topics
Does that not pose some interesting legal questions then? I ask coz we have to tag all our stuff at work with copyright disclaimer things, and we get told off by our legal department if we do anything daft like have a spelling mistake or provide the wrong date etc.
Not that I understand the finer points of the copyright laws you undertand. I just know that as far as our company goes, having stuff like incorrect dates can leave us in a bit of a sticky situation of anyone wanted to challenge us and all that.

After reading the stories I went and listened to Babyteeth for the first time in ages. Makes it all sound so new again! I heard stuff in it that I didnt seem to pick up on before. Damn fine music.

Found this little website for some of the hacks for some machines (useful for people in the UK only I think).
http://www.dvdexchangeshop.fsnet.co.uk/hints.htm
Most machines have some combination of buttons that you can press to make them multi region. I believe the rules have now changed (at least in the UK) and all new DVD players must be multi-region. Still to research that bit, but if it is true then it should mean that you can go to your DVD manufacturer and ask them how to make your dvd player multi region (reason - all machines are built multi-region and then programmed after manufacture, so your manufacturer ought to know how to revert to multi-region).
There’s also kit you can buy to convert from NTSC to PAL and vice versa.

Is that really true? Hmmm, may have to consider matters a bit.
Yep that’s true. The tattooist who’s going to do the job explained it all to me but I’m buggered if I can remember what he said. I’m not getting it done until next pay cheque, but I’ll try and get some before and after shots and if you’re interested I’ll let you see what difference it makes.

I’ll like a gemil tattoo, but am worried that I’ve never seen anyone over 40 who had a tattoo done in their twenties where the tattoo didn’t look awful. I know you can get them removed later on, but… well, that’s my view anyway. Not that twenties will be a problem for me for much longer.
Sure they fade a bit and start to look a bit old as you get older, but removal isn’t the only option you know. You can get them refreshed to keep them looking lovely. I had my first tattoo 11 years ago and I’m about to have the outline touched up so it looks nice and clear again.
Also, you can get henna tatts that are not so permanent. Perhaps fan’fucking’tastic could see what his girlfriend thinks of getting something like that done instead.

It’s just me and my 5 year old son (who recently got told off at school for singing at the top of his voice “hey satan you rock” - I got a right telling off from his teacher!).
Non of my friends are all that interested in T? - although most remember Troublegum (and even have good things to say about it). Although I did get some strange bloke come up to me the other day and compliment me on my T? t-shirt that I was wearing.

Yes why not. I’m a Frank Zappa fan and in their forum, most people there are adults around 30-40 and they swear and puts funny jokes.
I’m sorry but you’re confusing me. Maturity isn’t about age, it’s about attitude. Are you trying to say that just because “old” folks swear a bit that makes them immature? Or because “mature old folks” swear that makes it a mature thing to do? I just don’t understand what point you’re trying to make here. Or its relevance to the discussion you started.
And as for your little “alright as long they stay away from me” thing - you’re entitled to your opinion as long as you accept that some people find your attitude offensive. The way you are expressing your opinion does not do you any favours. Your little outbursts only succeed in making people think you’re a narrow minded, immature tit.
If you express strong and controversial opinions in forums like this then you must expect people to answer you back.

Hell yeah! All those gorgeous sweaty men around, packed in nice and tight. It’s enough to get this little lady excited no matter who’s playing! ;)
Seriously though, for the price you pay to go to some of these arena shows you can get to see an awful lot of great bands in smaller venues. And you’re less likely to get conned out of money for crap quality merchandise too.

And there in lies the problem. Despite all the rave reviews there has been very little promotion of the album. In fact, I’d go as far as saying bugger all radio play (I’ve certainly not heard any) and I’ve definately not seen a peep on any of the music tv channels. Minimal press coverage. How can you expect an album to sell in large volumes if you’re only relying on gigs and word of mouth to promote your music. Just about everyone I know who has heard HA has liked it, most have bought it. But it wasn’t exactly a high profile release.
And it’s certainly saying something about the state of the industry when you consider a band like Evanescence are playing a festival like Download after ONE single and a fairly mediocre album and that many fantastic rock bands who appeal to a large cross section (and I’d include T? here) don’t get a look in. In fact they have to rely on their fans harassing radio stations to get them played.

Must admit I was a bit unsure of HA on the first listen. But it grew on me and now I love it. I can’t think of a single track I don’t like.
It makes a refreshing change from most albums I’ve heard over the past year. Most seem to have a few decent tracks and then pad it out with any old rubbish.

Er, I’m a bit confused by this statement. Does he mean that Andy IS disturbing (coz IMHO any episode of Heartbeat would be pretty disturbing), or that he ISN’T (in which case that journalist needs to go see someone about the fact he/she/it DOESN’T find Heartbeat disturbing)?
Or maybe I’ve just missed the point completely.
Whatever, a lot of hot air spouted by someone with a very narrow mind. Wouldn’t expect anything else from a quality rag like Metro.

Re: Next single? in General Therapy? Topics
Voodoo Doll is probably the most commercially viable track, it’s the most obvious single and would almost certainly help sell the album in bucket loads.
But I’d prefer them to release any of the other tracks just because it would be the unexpected thing to do.

That sounds like the “Wake Up… Time To Die” shirt, with Gemil on the front - I actually got a brand new one on the ‘net lately. It was the original ‘91 shirt, but was just never worn. So I’d guess the chances of finding another are virtually nil.
That’s the one. I’d like another to replace it - couldn’t care if was an “original ‘91” vintage t-shirt - just one of similar style would be nice.

I don’t! I love my very old, once was red but now more a dull pink, long sleeved T? shirt that I pinched off my then boyfriend way back in ‘92 (i think - it was a long time ago anyway). It’s full of holes, covered in paint stains, hasn’t been washed in ages for fear of it disintigrating but I love it.
But if I DID want a new one, I’d buy it from here if only I didn’t have to pay for it by cheque! Why doesn’t the site allow you to buy online (ie with a card rather than sending off a cheque)? Seems odd to have such a wizz bang flashy man website but rely on snail mail for merch purchases.
